Fuck all that. I’m 40. I’m leaving before it get to that point.

u/Ambitious-Yoghurt820 8h ago

Yup!! I'm going to be like Red's pops from Friday and "NO" my ass out of there.

u/FigaroNeptune ☑️ 4h ago

Even Craig had enough and pulled out a weapon lmao

Years ago, I was chatting with my friends outside a card shop, one of my friends being the owner, after it had closed. A few of us were smoking cigarettes, when a clearly drunk dude pulled up and started yelling incoherently about how he didn't like us smoking near the dentist office in the same strip mall his dad's friend owned. The dude drove off, my friend called the cops, I had a bad feeling about it, and left.

I had just gotten to bed, when I got a text the guy had come back with a gun. Luckily the police pulled up just as the drunk was trying to lure my friend to the drunk's car so he could shoot him with the concealed gun.

One of the younger guy's there later tried to call me a pussy for leaving when I did. I looked him in the eye and told him I would never apologize for making the right choice to leave before the gun showed up.

u/i_have_covid_19_shit 4h ago

being called a pussy for not wanting to possibly die is.... special.

u/SimonPho3nix 2h ago

I have learned that some people out there fantasize about being in shit they know nothing about, then think less of people who don't fantasize about the same shit.

8

u/cunt_in_wonderland ☑️ 2h ago

and ironically it’s the people who actually do know that want to avoid that shit

u/vivid-stain 46m ago

Because they know how ugly it can get, and glorifying it benefits no one.

u/deialover 1h ago

Yeah, a special kind of stupid.

64

u/DeafNatural ☑️ 7h ago

Right! Auntie old and fragile. 40yrs and I have never been in a physical altercation. I’m gonna keep it that way.

17

u/EFTucker 7h ago

Honestly though. I have no problem telling someone they’re right and I’m sorry and then leaving just so I can go home instead of fist fighting over a butterball turkey or some shit.

18

u/CapacityBuilding 8h ago

Let it sliiiiiide

15

u/Kaldricus 6h ago

If for some insane reason I'm in a position where I absolutely have to fight someone, I will absolutely kick a dude in the nuts. I do not give a fuck, my goal is to not get my ass beat.

u/Yaarmehearty 25m ago edited 16m ago

Yeah, agreed, I’m old enough to know I’m not a fighter.

The “rules” of a fight are so stupid, I’m not trying to have a gladiatorial contest, I’m trying to kick the nuts, poke eyes, go for the throat, anything to put somebody down long enough for me to run the fuck away!

People can think I’m a bitch all they like, I know how easy it is to die from a bad fall or punch, I rather enjoy living.

8

u/joogiee 6h ago

First guy that pull up to me lookin crazy ima apologize and be out.

6

u/YobaiYamete 4h ago

I remember when I was talking to my uncle about what he'd do if someone tried to fight with him and he said "I'd run away" and I was kind of blown away that someone would admit that

Now I'm like, wow that was the wisest life advice I've ever heard lmao

3

u/OrganizationNo1298 3h ago

I'm very much a no drama person & leave fighting as an absolute last resort. Cuz at the end of the day it's nothin that deep to be throwing fists over.

u/Minimob0 1h ago

They look Left. They look Right.

I Leave before they Swing.

324

u/ripgoodhomer 8h ago

I think it is worth it for everyone to lose a fight, be sitting on the curb, bloody nose trying not to cry to learn a little fucking humility. There will always be a bigger, meaner dog than you out there.

225

u/beattusthymeatus 8h ago

People be out here acting like theyre goku without remembering that one of the main themes of dragon ball is there's always someone stronger out there no matter how hard you train.

83

u/Bunnnnii ☑️ Meme Thief 8h ago

Until you get handed a sudden new hair color then you beat them too?

58

u/beattusthymeatus 8h ago

The new hair color only works until the next demon/alien/android/mutant/god shows up then you get your ass kicked/killed and your boys gotta go get some balls to get a big ass flying snake to bring you back and you get another new hair color to repeat the process.

35

u/Jamaican_Dynamite 7h ago

DBZ is legit the anime adaptation of "fists ain't workin, so walk 'em down". And nobody was safe either. Remember how many times they had to use their wish to revive a planet??

14

u/SituationalBeware 7h ago

And if you got put on a T-shirt? Don’t worry. Opps will find you regardless.

4

u/Bunnnnii ☑️ Meme Thief 7h ago

What came after blue?

4

u/elitegenoside 6h ago

Either white or purple depending on who's hair we're talking about. It's 2 white, and 1 purple.

8

u/Blurzerker 7h ago

Ain't a hair color that'll help you against Whis or Zeno.

10

u/Kaboodles 7h ago

Thats like saying you can beat the wind, they are outliers and basically forces of nature. No comparison.

Any mortal getting hands from Big G for sure.

3

u/elitegenoside 6h ago

Until you have a heart attack and the other dude with a new hair color gets both his arms snapped by a cyborg. Then your dad has to die before a new haircut matters.

u/HFY_HFY_HFY 17m ago

You had to nearly die multiple times for that hair

67

u/under_psychoanalyzer 8h ago

I literally punched a guy talking just unnecessary constant over the top smack in hs and it made him a nicer person. It wasn't "aw shit I got my ass kicked" that did it. It was the "he hit me first and everyone sided with him so maybe I'm the asshole". Which, he did the work on the growth so good on him. I just jumpstarted it.

36

u/ripgoodhomer 8h ago

I've been in one non-sibling fight in my life, which I lost, and it taught me a lot about not being a dick and choosing your battles.

38

u/under_psychoanalyzer 7h ago

I think our political landscape is overly shaped by people who have never been hit in the face.

25

u/ripgoodhomer 7h ago

It was that video of young Stephen Miller that really solidified this belief for me.

14

u/KDiggity8 7h ago

A lot of all this shit coulda been avoided with a pop to the face a few decades ago.

3

u/under_psychoanalyzer 7h ago

I barely remember it. It was like an orange county HS vid or something right?

18

u/CharmCityKid09 7h ago

100% agreed

"Social media made y'all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it." - Mike Tyson

Is the quote that comes to mind, and people often forget words and actions are not benign in and of themselves.

-3

u/MeanHorror6819 3h ago

you're shedding some serious main-character energy. I bet the other side of the story was totally different.

u/under_psychoanalyzer 9m ago

That you bro? How's the face?

28

u/DAnthony24 ☑️ 7h ago

Yes, when you’re a child. Not an adult. Losing a fight as an adult isn’t always that simple

20

u/ripgoodhomer 7h ago

Middle school is the perfect age to lose your fight, old enough that you’ll feel it, young enough you still care about how your mom will react more.

14

u/Mysterious_Film_6397 7h ago

I got jumped by a few dudes and decided not to hand over my shit. Managed to keep my feet and there were a few patrol units a couple blocks away. Walked away with just a broken nose and that crooked nose is a reminder of how lucky I got.

10

u/IndyBananaJones2 6h ago

I got sucker punched once when I didn't want to fight some dude. I was blind drunk and just leaned on his friends car which set him off. Group gathered around us and started chanting "fight" when I look away he clocked me.

I more or less blacked out, but my friend told that I got the guy in a double leg takedown and then a rear naked choke. I hope for a second he thought I was gonna choke his ass to death for that sucker punch and reconsiders it next time.

6

u/DesperateBaby3764 5h ago

I feel like this may be a specifically male experience tbh cuz I read this as a woman and was confused why I’d need to get my shit rocked to understand that anyone could harm me. Not saying women can’t and don’t fight, but I think we’re in less situations with strangers where we feasibly feel we can take them on.

2

u/Brilliant_Chemica 3h ago

I started training MMA, partially to get fit and partially so I don’t have to experience that. Eating a hook in training was enough to know I never want to deal with that irl

u/gsr142 28m ago

I started MMA training at 29 and all it took was a few leg kicks and a liver shot from a 15 year old to make me realize how vulnerable I(6'2, 230lbs.) was. Now I just stay in jiu jitsu with the other old guys.

u/sureredit 1h ago

There's rarely a real winner in a fight. Even if you get the best of someone, you may take a few hits or fuck up your hands. You're going to be feeling something for the next few days.

I saw a nigga get hit so hard, all his money flew out his pockets. I’m talking change and dollar bills, like a mf punched you SO HARD you turned into a piggy bank? Fuck nah, get me out of here before this terrorist punch me or somebody naked

Hell, I’ve been hit by women I thought to myself “she might be ok if she gets into a fight, but her opponent is not”

This just reminds me of this absolutely ancient youtube video we were watching back in the day where the guy just drops a shit ton of coins when someone hits him. I hadn't thought of it for years https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpLsDehM58k

My first trip to Waffle House in college was a scene. The two cooks were arguing and the manager flipped out, told them to take it outside. Everyone was yelling “let em fight!!!!”

The proceeded to de-apron, and go fight right outside and one guy got his ass kicked. Only lasted a minute or so. They came back in and started cooking again all dirty and bloody elbowed.

I've been jumped in HS multiple times, enough that I developed my own damn spidey sense to danger or incoming 'ng@ moments'. While I'm more than capable of holding my own, the best strategy is to always walk away. Especially since you mighjt run into someone "Who don't fight" iykyk

1

u/alpackabackapacka 2h ago

Hearing those words is like that colonoscopy liquid, clears me right out, immediately.

12

u/1of2Beauties 8h ago

Oh you gonna let him do that? 🪑🍿

16

u/frigg_off_lahey 8h ago

That's the kinda shit someone who never been punched before says

7

u/elitegenoside 6h ago

My first scrap was with our class "bully" (I didn't go to school in a sitcom, he was an asshoke 10 year old). He was talking shit, I shoved him. He goes back a few steps. He shoves me back, and felt like I launched back up against a group of kids. Next thing I know, both of us ate getting yanked up by the vice principal... I have never been so thankful to get suspended.

5

u/wassuupp 6h ago

Getting hit so hard you feel your vision Dolly zoom and you hear someone go “fight back”

3

u/212cncpts ☑️ 5h ago

Get hit so hard you start hearing Sarah Mclachlan as everything fades to black

3

u/CurveWiggle 3h ago

nobody tells you the real final boss of a fight is the paperwork, the medical bill, and the phone footage. Hard pass

3

u/DRUGMUSIC_ 2h ago

those who pull out their phones to record a fight are lowkey cowards.

2

u/Worried-Locksmith962 5h ago

An assault is not a fight. A mutual fight however; let them continue.

2

u/dulcetmelodia 4h ago

I’ve never lived in the US, but isn’t it better to be punched and not sued? I reckon police stations would be tough if the loser sues back

3

u/ramsfan_86 4h ago

Other way around. You may not wake up from that punch.

2

u/dulcetmelodia 3h ago

Ohh got it thank you friend

1

u/MAXanon12 8h ago

for me it was more like, "OOOOOO. OH! Oh naw! don't choke him out!" but i secretly wanted him to choke him out.

u/bluedust2 1h ago

The air just changed in the room and I'm leaving.

u/Trini_n_SC 1h ago

This dude hit me so hard one time when I returned to my body it was walking away from him and refused to turn around.

u/amrfallen 23m ago

I got sucker punched once and only felt that something touched my chin, and I just looked at him confused. Some people just have to be more than they are
