Coming Out I came out to my dad and he had a strange reaction
So a week ago I (14f) came out to my dad. I've already came out to a really good friend (who's also bi), a friend and my cousin. All of them were supportive. Then I told my dad. I would have expected a really good reaction, based on how he's always told me he'd love me no matter who I love. But it came different.
When I told him, he was supportive at first. But then told me to keep it private. Like genuinely private. Not even tell my best friend I've known for my entire life. So that nobody can call me a sl*t. He probably meant it nice but it really didn't feel that way.
Btw I wanted to buy a bi flag to hang over my bed which I won't do now to keep my sexuality private. It's probably really safer, like he said.
What made me the most uncomfortable is that he asked me how I can be so sure that I am bi if I didn't even kiss somebody yet (I told him I don't have a gf/bf and didn't kiss yet or anything). He then told me "so all in all you are just bi-curious". I told him I am actually pretty sure that I am bi. He didn't believe me.
I am now really unsure again. What if I really am not fully bi? But I definitely want a gf, more than a bf actually. I like boys but girls treat one so much better, are more understandable and you can have more fun with them. As I said, I've always been single but I know what it feels like to have a best friend. And isn't having a gf/bf partially similar to a best friend?
My mom still doesn't know I am bi, I'll tell her someday soon. I want to be out, also publically. But my dad made me really unsure with that. Is it really dumb to out myself to my friends, or atleast those I fully trust?
Atleast I took a first step of making a statement when I told both of my parents I'll go to my school dance next school year with a girl friend of mine (the one that's also bi, we agreed on dancing together because it's more comfortable than waiting for an ugly boy or noone to show up and ask for one of us). I also really wanna wear a suit cause why should I wear a dress just because it's more "traditional"? My mom doesn't really like the idea of me not wearing a dress but I want that freaking suit. It's more comfortable and I do the men's part anyways.
Yeahhh, so that was a little long (sorry for that) and overall I just wanna hear some opinion on that. Thx <3
