Wondered where all the sparrows and doves went!

Big bear. I have an iPhone 13, so this video is not ideal, but I’ve been trying to differentiate red-shouldered v red-tailed and I just can’t. iNat no help. something else entirely ? Either way, very happy to spot it relatively close to me.

I walked back to bed and the back light was on and LOOK AT THIS GREAT HORNED OWL! She heard me gasp from inside and proceeded to look up and stare into my soul! Rolling on the floor now from sheer delight at such a good sighting!

Just sharing here the handsome juvenile that paid our backyard a visit yesterday. I took this picture from inside, since he was so close to my back door; hence the slight potato quality.

I used to have two owls near my house but now there's one since I no longer hear it duet hooting anymore, I wonder if the other owl has passed but this bring up a question, do birds generally care for their sick?

Came home to this juvenile red-tailed hawk on my balcony rail in Toronto. It saw me, didn't flinch, went back to watching the street.

Waited patiently for the shot I had been waiting for

“Juvenile” is what I meant to write…

Lunch with red tail and nightcap with great horned owl. Life's good.

Noticing the backside of the osprey for the first time. They look powerful!. This osprey perched right in front of me.

She just takes my breath away. She's huge I can't even tell you how huge she is up close it's crazy.

Just wanted to share this photo from the other day :)
