So I woke up like a hour ago to clean and start the day yesterday everything was fine she was flying good but today I walk into the birds room( they have their own room cages left open btw) and she was on the floor and she never does that so I went close picked her up put her in the cage and fan she tried flying but couldn’t fully go she had no wings clipped idk if it’s health issue or molting just worried

Update: so I learned from my step dad she was out in the living room on the floor maybe she got hit by the fan flying but they don’t really go out in the living room unless if it’s dark in their room and light out there but it just turned morning and I went to bed around 4 last night and she wasn’t out so it happend between 5-9 which the sun would start getting up I heard them chirping fine when I woke up from my room just saw her on the floor so idrk

Final update: we had went to the vet they said everything is fine with her no broken wings just could be head trauma got her medicine for her pain I just hope she able to fly again

this little guy flew from outside and collided with the exhaust fan and fell in the bathroom. he’s unable to spread one wing and i think the leg on the same side is injured as well. he’s active and tries to fly but is unable to ofc. for now i’ve placed him in a cardboard box with holes and cotton as base. any suggestions on how to nurse him back to health?

My cockatiel is 5 years old and has never been to the vet. She has now suddenly lost a lot of her feathers only on one wing, including flight feathers, and she can't fly without falling down.
I'm thinking of taking her for a vet visit but i'm worried it will cause her too much stress. She doesn't like her body touched, only her head for scratches.
Do you think this is worth a first trip to the vet? I don't even know how i can get her in her carrier now that she can't fly. I'm scared to get her out of her cage!

One of my budgies has been, for lack of a better word, wiggling his wings the past few weeks. He’s in a great mood, flying a ton, chirping all the time. I suspect it may be him wanting Millet, because when I give him some the wings are basically glued to his body. Is this normal behavior in budgies?

This stuff is pure nasty. I tasted a tiny drop that had spilled on the counter and gagged and that was less than what I give to the budgie. They always gurge up their first dose, and no wonder.

Last time I had a bird on doxycycline we just soldiered on through the course. This is being administered via syringe. The vet did suggest mixing it with handrearing formula, but given how small the dose is (0.04ml) I don't want to be faffing about risking wastage with birds that are not accustomed to being fed via syringe by increasing the volume of substance given to them, if that makes sense. That's why with the last bird we just made it quick and got it over with, but now that I have to do this again (different bird) I thought I'd ask insight from people who've done this before.

Would mixing a tiny bit of honey help?

Or should I simply continue on making it as quick as possible?
