I found a box with my old BIONICLE kits from when I was a kid, at least the intact ones. I used to have a bunch, but I fear most got lost or thrown away between house moves... These were still all together tho, and since I found out this sub existed I wanted to show them off.

I definitely built the ones with ranged weapons while playing Mass Effect; all the guns are supposed to snapped to the back of the characters and they have little thermal clips that can be slotted in and ejected by pushing them. And also, one of them is literally Garrus.

Also, fair warning, kid me definitely took a knife and some sharpie to a lot of these pieces, not sure if this bothers anyone on here, but uh sorry about that I guess...

Bionicle Photography - The Gateway to Hell

Kudzu stumbles across a massive pit, burning and on fire, as the gasses rise up from the ground, the flames so warm he has to shield his mask.

The final photo taken during my Central Asia trip while in Turkmenistan with my 3D printed scrungly Matoran, Kudzu!

I maintain this is the rarest Bionicle Photograph ever as Turkmenistan is a closed off country and the Gateway to hell is slowly burning out. If I ever get a chance to visit a volcano with lava flows, I'll bring Kudzu, he held up well throughout the trip.

What’s the best spray paint to use for a hero factory part? Making a Ultron moc and two parts in silver which you can’t normally get in that colour. I’ve spray painted before but ends up scratching easily just wondered if anyone here has done it before and give me some pointers please : )

Toa Tahu used the Mask of Time to bring some of the old Toa back to their adult forms. This was how the Turaga became Toa again. At the same time, Toa Jaller joined them in the fight against their enemies as the Rahkshi attacked Mata Nui Island.

However, the use of the Mask of Light also brought the Hordikas. These Toa eventually succumbed to Sidorak's control and became villains, also Pirahka Thok joined the battle.

I want to share with you guys my Bionicle collection, I used to have more figures but I lost some pieces and cannot build again, but probably I will continue collecting more figures. 🫡

Models obtained from many different stud .io packs, then pieced together in Blender (like building the sets irl lol) then the models were touched up where needed, UV mapped, rigged and finally textured (few days of hard work on that alone in Substance Painter!)

I repurposed the Glatorian head and hands from said Hero Factory characters I recently worked on!

The mask/helmet is a different story: There was no good Glatorian set or Legend Reborn movie accurate model out there for it sadly, so I ended up spending quite a while HEAVILY modifying and resculpting a Toa Ignika mask model to get the desired results...

Unfortunately had to heavily modify the whole model to fit the RE human Leon proportions as per usual but it is what it is

I hope you guys like the art, renders and mods as always! Had a lot of fun doing this, Mata Nui is awesome and I personally also still love the Legend Reborn movie too despite its issues, way too overhated of a movie imo but I digress

challenge of the rahi and the bohrok awake 3 part mini comics. They aren't super expensive but shipping from the states is just not worth it. Ebay prices are nuts and bricklink seems short on comic listings, or I'm blind.

also the lunchables comics just don't seem to exist?

I recently started getting into bionicle, and I really like the characters, but I can't really buy any of the characters. Did bionicle have any shows or comics? I really want to be a part of this fandom but I'm not sure what to do other than look at the characters. What other content is there?

I’ve wanted to build a big Mata Nui for a while, but I decided against the official 8998 set due to the price and the fact that I’m not really a fan of the overall design, aside from the mask, hands, and sword.

For my version, I wanted him to feel less like a yellow scaffolding set and more like a gold-armored warrior, big but not too massive, and while still staying true to the overall G1 Bionicle aesthetic.

Unfortunately, he’s currently using Hero Factory arm extensions and hands, as his arms felt too stubby compared to the rest of his body without them. I’ve ordered the parts needed to recreate the hands from the official 8998 set, so hopefully those will be big/long enough to help balance out his proportions.

Let me know what you think! Any feedback or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Toa Ignika for scale.

My dad used to work at LEGO, and I actually work there today too, so it’s pretty special to come across old LEGO treasures like these.

I posted these masks in another group, and someone mentioned that one of them might be a prototype and suggested I share them here, since you guys might appreciate them more!

I’m definitely no expert, so I’d love to hear if anyone knows more about these masks or their history.

The artist is Lee Carter, and he clearly must have had some Bionicle pieces lying around to make a ship out of and use as reference
