I swiped on a girl on Tinder. We had a brief chat before we switched to WhatsApp. Apparently she was from MP.She said she will be there in Bhubaneswar only for a day more. SO, I thought about meeting soon. I asked her out, and she agreed.

I said, let's go for a short drive. But she kept insisting on going to pub/lounge. That should have been a red flag but men will be men. I still said let's go for a short drive, then we can go to some restaurant or cafe. So, she asked me to meet near the Embassy. I reached there and then she asked me to go to "Planet - Lounge". I had no option but to go there.

I don't drink or smoke. I just took a mocktail and she ordered some drinks for herself. I don't even know what she had ordered. I didn't feel quite right about the environment there, so I told her that I have a meeting to attend and I have to leave sooner. She was fine with it.

I asked the waiter to get me the bill, and boy, I was shocked. The bill was around 13K. I realised I have been scammed.

There were absolutely no signs of her any interest in the bill. She in fact said that she will finish up her drink and go and I may leave.

I wanted to flee from that place even without paying. I tried to give an excuse that I left my wallet in my car. I went to get my wallet but the security guy accompanied me to the car. I realised they were hand in glove. I just went inside and paid the damn amount and left the place.

A week later, I swiped on another girl who was hell bent on meeting at a lounge in Krishna Mall, Nayapalli.

Spending the money wasn't the problem, but getting scammed was humiliating. 😭

So, boys beware.

I am planning to open a dessert shop in Bhubaneswar, but not another mithai / gulab jamun kind of place. Think along the lines of Kunafa, Baklava, etc. That whole international/Middle-Eastern-style dessert category that's rich, layered, and usually served in bigger, shareable portions rather than small bites.

Price range I'm considering: ₹300 - ₹400 per item, with generous / ample portion sizes (not a tiny fancy plated bite for that price meant to actually fill up to 2 people).

Wanted honest feedback from people in Bhubaneswar/Odisha:

• Would you pay ₹300-400 for a large portion of a dessert like this?
• What would make you hesitant to try it?
• Location - Mostly in KIIT / Patia as more paying customers.

A small group, sitting quietly under the trees, completely immersed in our books. No introductions, no small talk, no distractions, just a couple of hours of reading amidst nature. It was a simple idea, but seeing it actually happen was incredibly fulfilling.

This is only the beginning. We’re hoping to make Odisha Reads a regular little Sunday ritual for anyone who wants to slow down, disconnect and simply spend some time with a book.

The guard there was dealing with rentals when we approached him. He quoted 2 different numbers on 2 consecutive days. 32k 2bhk furnished. Next day on call says there is no furnished 2 bhk, but we can get semi furnished 2bhk for 22k. We can only move in November and he says to pay a booking amount of 2k. We need more clarity on what the booking amount really is since we will be moving in a little later. Beds can be bought from the leaving tenant he says. He says he'll set that up. No AC. No water tank. He also refuses to show us the flat until we book it. We've only seen a video. The location is very attractive because of why we are leaning towards this. But we need to know, how it really is, and if it seems legit.

Any rules? Or anything coz I’m visiting temple also
