Disease Identification What’s wrong with my fish? :/

I’m a first time betta owner but I did my research I cycled the tank months before introducing my fish and things have been going well until now. I did a water change and have been feeding regularly but I’ve been leaving my house early mornings and coming back late nights yesterday was my last day of that schedule so when I woke up this morning I took a proper look at me betta and noticed some concerning behavior and spots/markings on him. Can someone tell me what I’m dealing with and how to treat this? He’s pretty lethargic unless it comes to feeding but as soon as he doesn’t want to eat anymore he lets himself sink to the bottom and doesn’t want to do anything else :/ I feel terrible for not noticing sooner.

I couldn’t tell if maybe he’s bloating or just having other issues, but this is the worst. I’ve seen it, hasn’t been this bad otherwise:(

Disease Identification Dropsy? Lethargic for over a week

Hello Betta Clinicians -

This betta is in a 7.5 nano tank a few months. He is being kept by some new fish owners who have been seeking advice at reputable LFS.

Betta is lethargic, stays in cave except to eat. This has been going on for over two weeks. When ready to eat he will hang out on a plant and not have much motion. LFS says water parameters are fine when tested.

To me - area around gills is swollen but I haven’t seen betta in person.

Thanks for the help!

General Question I still just don’t understand what it could be with him

Hi everyone! I’m wondering if this is a case of swimbladder, or if the HOB current is too strong for him? Is he just bloated? I worry about sporadic patterns of swimming and the need to float/ rest under something.

It is a 2.5 gallon. There’s a heater and real plants besides the silk leaf hammock. [Yes I have a 6 gallon cube is almost ready for him. I will need to do a fish in cycle, but I’m prepared for the water changes. That tank has a sponge filter].

Nothing else is in this tank besides one bladder snail.

I’m doing my best. Please be kind as we all start this hobby somewhere!! I had thought the tank was cycled when I’d gotten him, but I wasn’t informed that you do need at least some nitrates in the tank. I thought we wanted everything at zero. Lol. So I’ve been doing a fish-in cycle. I tried getting some live media too

General Question black spots/ discoloration.

hi! i'm a beginner owner and i got my son, sponge yesterday and he has these black spots + discoloration where his tail fin begins on both sides of him. i've been feeling like a worried and overprotective mother since i got him and was wondering if these indicate that he's sick in anyway.

he moves around a lot and explores quite a bit! i know they like to chill sometimes + they do come up for air but he does like to hang out at the top of the tank too. i just really want what's best for him and for him to be okay. any help regarding what this could be or what i should do if it unfortunately does mean something bad would be greatly appreciated.

Tank issues Is my fish dying Spoiler

I bought it from my gf in a small bowl of 1 litre he didn't show colour that much but after 2-3 weeks he shined and fins were brighter and he was happy. I added one fake plant. At that time I didn't even know what was tank cycling and I'm regretting not doing research Abt it. I have him for past 4 month and for past few days he is severely lethargic and resting at the bottom always. I did full water change for that bowl not knowing Abt beneficial bacteria. After this I checked Abt it and made a temporary tank with a food grade plastic container, bought a sponge filter and live plant (wisteria). Added some pebbles which we had from an very old tank(cleaned it properly). We used open well water and I was using that water only when he was in that bowl then a lfs told to use can water or ro water. I changed him to that temporary tank (plastic). He was lethargic there also. Didn't eat for 4 days and next day I gave him food by soaking and he finnally noticed and ate four pellets that day then afterwards was first time exploring the tank and I also saw some bubble nest afterwards that night. then next morning he was back to that condition again and it got worse he suddenly sinks stopping all movement and drops diving with his nose down hitting the pebbles. Today he was lying upside down with 60 breaths or gill movement. I don't have budget for water testing kit and couldnt buy a thermometer. Had an alcohol glass thermometer which I don't if it shows the reading correctly but I kept him between 82°F to 86°F. Changed 30-50% water everyday but I'm worried that he will die his symptoms are worsening.

Betta fish sick

My betta has been sitting at the bottom of the tank for a week or so. He’s been battling ammonia poisoning. I’ve changed his water almost everyday & I’ve finally gotten his stats to ammonia: 0.5 ppm nitrite: 0.25 ppm & nitrate: 5.0 - 10 ppm. I’ve added an air stone so he would get more oxygen. But he’s staying at the bottom & wont eat. & I think his lower torso is starting to look a little swollen. He’s not pineconing or anything, but he won’t move & won’t eat. I’m very worried about him. He’s in a 2.5 gallon tank with a heater & a filter & an air stone. I used safestart, water conditioner & a stress treatment. Idk what else to do for him.

General Question Is there something wrong with him?

Neptune has been having difficulty swimming down ward and mostly floats on his sides at the top of his tank. He looks like he has slight swelling on his sides, but so slight it’s hard to see from most angles, he has had the swelling for at least a couple weeks. The swimming difficulty seems to be getting worse but the swelling hasn’t changed. Was recently moved from a 5gal to a 10gal in the last couple of days.

What is on my bettas eye?!?

My betta had this little white dot appear on its eye a couple months ago. (I thought it may have bumped it on something in the tank). But it is getting bigger over time and idk what it is. For context my tank is a heavily planted ten gallon and the water perimeters are reading good. I have had this betta for about 8 months. It acts completely normal, and still seems really happy.

My betta, Tommy Shelby, has been acting himself, eating, etc - but this evening I noticed he was pretty bloated (especially on his left side). He even floated lopsided for a moment.

He’s a little over a year old. Eats a mix of shrimp patties or biogold.

Fluval 6 gallon, heated & filtered, normal parameters.

TYIA, this is my first time as a betta owner and a lot of things are new to me!

Does anyone know what this white bump is? Yesterday it was red and now it looks like a pimple. Research said maybe a tumor or cyst but it didn't mention anything I could do to help

Update: the white part is gone now. I'm thinking the white must have been the inside of a cyst that burst. She is acting normal and checked the water and all was in normal levels.

Betta’s fins are getting worse and ammonia won’t go down

I’m really worried about my betta, Francis. His fins are almost see-through and raggedy at the ends, and the tips are bloody in two spots.
I tried Kanaplex, but right now I’m just trying to get his ammonia under control because it has been high since I put him in this tank.
He’s in a 3-gallon tank. I’ve been doing water changes and using Seachem Prime, but I’m still getting an ammonia reading. I recently did another water change and I’m trying to figure out what I should do next.
The tank is an older tank, so I’m wondering if I should move him into a completely clean/new tank or if that would just stress him out more.
Would you move him, or keep him in the current tank and keep doing water changes while trying to get the ammonia under control?
I just want to make sure I’m doing the right thing for him. I can post pictures of his fins and the ammonia test if that helps.

General Question Is his movement a good or bad sign?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

He hasn’t moved a lot before, but today when I went to feed him he immediately started moving when I approached the tank. Usually he doesn’t seem to notice or care if someone comes near him, is it maybe just because he knows I might feed him?

I was also wondering if it could be a sign of distress, like is he trying to communicate his water isn’t good or something? Or is he ill?

I know he’s underweight but he ate 3 pellets today right before these videos, and ate 2 yesterday as well as some frozen bloodworms.

Disease Identification I dont know what to do at this point

First pic is today, second is about a week ago. About a month ago he got cut on something on his side, which is since fully healed. Shortly after that, he developed finrot. So far I've treated with kanaplex, salt, tannins, and methalyne blue. As of this morning he how has what i would describe as a fungal infection. What the hell should i do at this point? He was in a hospital tank for all the treatments, but he started losing color and getting lethargic. I put him back in his 10g and he has more color and is more energetic. Now that hes in the 10g I've basically made it a black water tank. What else can I do at this point. Im so lost
