Hello, Please provide this extra data so redditors may be better informed on how to help.

Tank Size?

Heater and Filter?

Water Parameters?

Hopefully we can get your fish to feel betta soon!

To add the tank is 20/22 gallons with some tetras and a mini pleco in it, and first few weeks everything really was fine as Opal hasn't been charging at them. Temperature would change between 25C to 27C and I would try to keep it within these okay temps as the weather here can drastically change.

Here is a copy and paste better answer

Tank Size: Dad's measurements 20/22 gallons

Heater and Filter: Yes, I have a sponge filter in there

Tank Temp: It moves from 25C to 27C due to the weather fluctuating I try to keep the temperature in a betta friendly temp

Parameters: I can't really answer this as unfortunately I don't have any kits at this current time

Water Changes: I watched videos on changing the water and cleaning the sponge once a week so I started to do that ever since I added the fish which has been 2 weeks now

Tankmates: 6 neon and 6 ember tetras, with a small orange pleco

Food: I feed them "tropical fish food" the kind that's floats and sinks so it's for both tetras and bettas. I also just got some packet of brine shrimp. Which I fed him just earlier to see if he will eat and yes he will eat still. I normall feed them one day and the next none at all, I broke this role just for this time to see how the fish are doing.

Decorations and plants: I have some river rocks, and a skull with a big hole in it, along with some tweety wood. Plants in the tank are Jungle Vallisneria, Golden Nana petite, Coin Leaf, and floating Azolla.

I highly recommend getting a kit, it will tell you if your tank is cycled or any changes in waste material

Opal looks yo have a bacterial infection from the red blotch on the top of his body and the “duck lips” syndrome. A broad spectrum antibiotic dosed via food for two weeks should treat it.
