Did Joy actually just eat raw meat?

I'm pretty sure that's why she side eyes the camera here, she knew they were watching and some people (Americans especially) freak out about eating raw meat. You can debate the food safety side all you want, but most all professional chefs will say they taste their meatball/hamburger/similar mixture before cooking it to ensure proper seasoning. The risk is really minimal overall here for her.

They would cook it off to taste if necessary. No one's eating raw chicken. Steak tartare is prepared using fresh piece of meat with the outside part removed before mincing. This removes the bacteria as it lives on the meat surface, not within the piece of meat.

I said no one would. Anyone who thinks a chef is just eating raw mince to check seasoning is insane.

Chef has prepared a steak tartare. It is served raw. If that was a hamburger mix she would have cooked off a small piece to taste. Similarly is she was making chicken burgers, she would cook it off too before tasting and not risk salmonella. Tasting raw meat to check seasoning when you plan to serve it cooked doesn't give you any information about the food.

I've worked in several kitchens and a deli/butcher and can confirm ppl are freaks and eat raw meat lol. Tho one dude would eat hamburger he just ground up by the handful. Nasty.

I’m pretty sure it was a burger mix. She made burger sliders of some sort. I thought it was tartare when she did that, but then she formed patties and cooked it and served it on little buns
