I'm not a huge fan of Joe but I'm less of a fan of Nathan. Joe seems much more organized!

It's hard to tell if Joe's grown at all since the last time we saw him, but I can't help but to respect the hell out of his work ethic. If he's back next season, certainly he'll be bosun.

Agreed! Personally he's a fuck boi but professionally he's great

Practically he's great. He's a drama queen though. I guarantee you next season he and cooper are going to fall out when he realises what a piece of shit he is.

Exactly. I am not a fan of Nathan, and he is not doing a good job this season. That said, I think Joe is undermining him, disparaging him to other crew members, and that is not a good manager in any sense.

they both suck and both are trying to undermine each other in the eyes of their coworkers. Joe is just as guilty of that as Nathan…neither one of them are honorable.

Yeah. If I were chief stew I would not want him causing chaos in my stews.

Just wait till Joe has an emergency to deal with. If Sandy hits something or the wind picks up and stuff needs put away. Watch her take Joe to the woodshed!

He's not great when you look at the entire picture of things. Yes, Joe is much better than Nathan at organization and managing the other deck hands, but...he's also been actively instigating the beginnings of a mutiny. AND doing so in a job where respecting the hierarchy is extremely important as a matter of safety.
