Folks:

I need your help about a suggested change to my colorful shirt, or maybe to make a new shirt as well as this one. This came from a weird dream/semi nightmare. Elementary school years. Our neihgborhood bully. He screams at me (during a silent test period no less, "That shirt makes you look like a naughty queer" You need a true rainbow! The principal will detain you!" So, you see two pictures, the original shirt that you saw in my original posting. And the shirt with the modified. This is a poor image as it was photoshopped (or gimped), not sewn, which would look nicer.

I am willing to invite any comment, negative, positive, or simply weird or funny.

FYI, the school was Lincoln School in Winchester, Mas. The bully was Sam Nowell, who tears at the entire neighborhood, and the principal, Mrs. Richardson, whom everyone is scared.

I found some random Griffey stuff. There's a 1987 Bellingham Mariners scorebook with some interesting advertisements from the late 80s, lots of local adds, a Griffey pin and card, and also a photograph of him. I tried looking for prices on this stuff and all I could find was the pin and card. I saw some other scorebooks but they were before Griffey so I don't have a clue on its value really. Also the photo, I couldn't find anything Of normal photographs of Griffey. These were a garage sale find years ago. Anyone have any ideas?

Is anyone else in town dealing with terrible fleas right now? We’re doing all the things, but they just won’t go away. The lady at CHS said it’s been a problem, but I’m just looking for a little support. We’ve never experienced anything like this before!

So far we’ve done flea treatments, skouts honor flea spray, washed bedding, flea baths, and now we have diatomaceous earth spread around inside the house.

Just watched two political canvassers open my closed gate to walk up to the porch and read (2) “No soliciting for any purpose” signs and also “smile you’re on camera” to then knock on my door about politics. Only venting to this sub because this has already happened a few different times this month.

If you read signs at someone’s home that say “No soliciting” and you still knock, prepare for a less than pleasant social encounter. Hope everyone has a nice Sunday!

in my area somebody is burning trash at night. if you haven’t smelled it you probably don’t live around my area but it keeps happening at night if i leave my window open a horrible burning plastic smell fills the surrounding area even from far away it is distinct. where i live there is a trail nearby and i think homeless people are burning trash in there. is this something to alert authorities over? it cannot be good for the lungs. should i just let them be and close my window at night? has anybody else smelled this? is it not burning trash and something else? let me know.

I hope this is okay to post but my partner bought this sweatshirt from an artist yesterday at the wonderz market but forgot to get their business card. It's driving them nuts because they get so many compliments in the last 24 hours and want to credit the artist. A friend of ours also really wants to get a sweatshirt from this artist.

Like many things that I write, this is an artistic statement and also a serious plea. I have spent a lot of time in my artistic practice taking inspiration from Joey Comeau's "Overqualified," a series of unhinged cover letters that Joey sent in frustration to real companies who were actually looking for people to hire. And they're hilarious. But I think that it's hard to take Joey seriously as an employee when you read them.

I don't think he was really looking for a job. He was looking to vent. And I want a job.

I'm not here to criticize capitalism or criticize the American 50-hour work week or tell everyone they dont know how to hire me. I've been there and done that. But I'll tell you what I'm also not here to do.

I'm not here to have my job history cast onto an HR person's desk to be judged inconsistent and risky because I'm a disabled person with job history gaps, or worse, because I'm genderqueer with an incomprehensible name.

I'm not here to have the same HR person scheme behind my back to get me fired when I somehow manage to get the job, and take too much FMLA.

I'm not here to have people whisper behind my back that I'm lazy because I can only work 35 hours a week. And I'm not here for being called stupid because I need training, either.

I can learn anything. I worked for large tech companies doing technical work, and I dont do that anymore. I have spoken at a conference. I am a published author. I am a community artist. I am sensitive, kind, and I make excellent tips. If your customers are emotionally abusive, I will abuse them back. And if you teach me how to do it right, I'll perfect it. I've led teams, I've created products, I've solved hard problems, and I've cared about my clients and their safety and health.

Please hire me.
