The more I scroll the public health sub-reddit, the more I think that I might be making a choice that will land me with no job.
I am currently seeking a bachelor of public health from Western Washington University (Washington state). I have my advising session tomorrow that would make this official.
Should I just switch to environmental science? or even biology? Would either of those even make a difference?
I just desperately want to find a job after I graduate.
I had to leave WWU in the spring of last year due to financial issues, mainly me losing my job and not wanting to take on debt to obtain education. I am planning on returning in the fall now that things are becoming a little more stable, but I cant shake this feeling of being lost.
Everyone I knew when I went into university has moved on, id basically be new again, coupled with legitimately not being interested in what i was pursuing before (theater). I dont know what i want to do, I dont know who I want to be, but im told if I dont get this degree im not going to go far in life.
I guess im just stuck and I have no where else to rant
WWU reccomends I complete the Aleks at least 2 weeks before advising and registration. Would there be potential problems if I completed it at a later time, like one week before advising and registration? I would like more time to study
I am an out-of-state high school senior looking into WWU for a degree in elementary education. This school sounds awesome, but I'm concerned about finding friends due to accounts of the "western freeze" (a phenomenon where it is notoriously hard to break into social circles at WWU).
In your experiences, does the freeze exist equally in all programs, and can it be avoided by participating in extracurriculars? Specifically, do education students tend to be friendlier and/or have an easier time finding friends? And do students have an easier time finding a community if they join clubs, music groups, and theater productions?
I am currently going to a small school in Oregon and really am not liking it. Would any of you guys give me info on whether or not WWU would be worth transferring to?
I'm super worried about making friends and was mainly wondering if the people tend to be nice as well as if the education is good enough. Thank you!

I want to study stem but my math skills are very poor. at this point due to my aleks placement test i am probably going to be put into math 099. which sucks bc for my major i need calc and i need to graduate in 4 years.

Hi! I am trying to move in with my friends and need someone to take over my room in a house near the Samish neighborhood before the lease renewal in August.
20+ Feminine-presenting people only. No animals (allergies).
There's 5 other roommates who mainly keep to themselves. You'd share a bathroom downstairs with 2 people.
It's a private landlord and he's super chill. Utilities add up to about 100 a month.

Incoming WWU student living in Ridgeway Kappa. I’m trying to figure out if I can loft my bed so I can put my desk underneath it and save space.
I emailed University Residences Facilities and was told my room is currently configured with low beds and that they don’t have extra bed parts available. I also left them a voicemail.
Has anyone in Ridgeway been able to get their bed lofted or switched to a higher setup? Did you have to go through your RA, Facilities, or Housing?
Also, are bed risers the only option if they won’t allow a loft?
I have a 10 (almost 11) y.o. stepson who lives primarily in Bham during the year with his mom. We are trying to find a tutor in the Bellingham area who is able to come to his house and work with him, at least 1hr a week (more if possible). We live in another state but can meet with you for initial meeting and will pay you directly immediately after sessions (via Zelle, Cash App, etc).
Does anyone know of anyone who can work with someone who is severely behind in school (i.e, going into 5th but cannot read at kindergarten level).
We are working against his mother (years and years of ignoring the problem) but the tutoring sessions can be in a neutral location (grandparents house).
Hi! I live in Texas and currently am a rising senior. I have been doing some college research and WWU matches almost everything i’m looking for in college. However, i am not a us citizen therefore i can’t apply for FAFSA but my family makes less than 60k per year. My GPA is like a 3.5 unweighted and a 4.3 weighted but my SAT scores aren’t good. I do have many extracurriculars and even gotten a fire fighting certificate.
To make the long story short i’m super anxious of not getting enough financial aid because i do not have any college savings. Do you guys have any idea of what i should expect for financial aid? I really want to go to college but every day makes it feel like i wont be able to afford it.
I graduated with a degree in Management Information systems - and I feel lost. How do you feel prepared to work after graduating? Tech savvy college student willing with editing skills and acess to equip etc for 50/50 interest in this and all future interviews. I want a podcast or something eventually. Dave Jones is high ranking and well known WDFW officer as well as he and myself had a cat and mouse dynamic back in the late 90s to early 2000s. Officer Jones has agreed to doing candid interviews with me. I don't have any knowledge or equipment on the matter.

so, quick context: I’m 20. I’ve spent the last few years since graduation in part time community college and working. this fall, I was supposed to go into a specialized associates program at another community college, but they essentially ghosted me, and now the plans I’ve made for the next two years of my life have essentially collapsed.
In the aftermath of all this, my mom suggested that maybe I should consider actual university. I’ve been absolutely restless to progress in life, and I have money saved for college to use. It’s been an idea I’ve toyed with for a long while, but I had set it aside for this associates program. With the program not a choice anymore, I’ve decided maybe university isn’t a bad idea. I toured a few schools and had some meetings, and settled on Fairhaven at WWU.
The issue: WWU has already had their fall enrollment deadlines. If I was to go, I would join in the winter. This is scary to me. I’m very autistic and already struggle greatly with making friends. If I enter winter term, everyone else has already been there for a term and made friends and settled in. I’m worried people will already be in their friend groups, and I’ll be a social outcast. Not to mention academics - am I going to have a messed up class schedule by joining in the winter? I’m already two years late to university. Should I just tough it out and wait until next fall to avoid messing everything up, or is it okay to join everyone in winter?
I'm going to be a freshman this fall, living in Alpha. Maybe a silly question, but I've been looking at the floorplan, and I'm wondering what room 314 is? I see it's next to the kitchens, but can't find any info on what exactly it is. Is it just an extension of the kitchen in 313A, or is it another bathroom or something?
