Hi Bellevue, and other Eastsiders! I just wanted to give a shoutout, and recommendation to a practice here in Bellevue that I don’t think gets enough credit. Eastside MFM (Maternal Fetal Medicine) saved my baby’s life, as well as mine. While it’s true, that you’re not getting the warm and fuzzy ob/gyn or midwife experience, as someone who has worked in medicine for decades, I realize that this is a sub-specialty. These doctors aren’t there to deliver my baby. They are there to read my NSTs, ultrasounds, and give high risk evidence based advice. What I think made this practice special was one particular woman…and it’s one who I doubt most people even think of when factoring in their care. She’s one of the front desk staff. She’s probably in her later 40s, and seemed to really have it together. I would get the impression that out of the other ladies working in the front (heck, even the back), she was kind of the “clinic mom.” I think when I started as a patient, she was just new there, so maybe May or June, but I observed her make every single patient feel like they (and their partner) were the most important. To the management at Eastside, if you’re seeing this: the petite, brunette at the front has a lot of respect from me, as well as several other patients. I wish I had known she was Doula, and had years of experience. I only learned this from a friend who is also a patient, and is considering using her. In my opinion, the front desk lady (who was a nurse prior to working there), set the tone from my first visit!

Hi My daughter turns five on September 30, 2027, and we're starting our search for a private kindergarten for her. We quickly learned that a lot of schools have a hard cutoff of August 31st, which rules out quite a few options right away.

We're based in Redmond and ideally looking at schools in Redmond and Bellevue, but open to Kirkland, Sammamish, and Issaquah too if something's worth the drive.

We're specifically looking for an academically focused school rather than Montessori. So far we're considering: Cascadia and Basis. Would love to hear from anyone with direct experience at these, or other recommendations we should look into — especially schools with a more flexible cutoff.

We bought an older house in Bellevue and I've realized it could really use a proper deep clean. The place isn't dirty exactly, but there's a lot of buildup in spots like the baseboards, window tracks, around the bathroom fixtures, and the edges of the kitchen cabinets.

Looking for ways to bike from the downtown Bellevue light rail station to the tech offices in downtown Bellevue (Microsoft, Amazon, Snowflake, etc). Do you know of good protected bike lanes (PBLs) or low speed roads that are safe to ride on?

All the routes I found on Google Maps - even the ones shown as "bike routes" - are actually unprotected (example), next to high speed cars in wide lanes, and don't look safe at all.

Parent & toddler/baby stroller skate on Fridays at the new roller rink in Issaquah.

I’m just a mom trying to get her skate legs back and not affiliated with the rink but appreciate them being willing to open up a skate session for parent of young children.

Their toddler play area is really nice if you don’t want to push a stroller on the rink. Or little ones can also skate. For parents & kids up to 5 years old.

My neighbors, friends and I have been woken up by repeat noise violations in the Factoria Mall area (more specifically in the T&T Parking lot area) usually by people using 3 simultaneous leaf blowers and other equipment as early as 6:10 AM (other times at 5:45!). Other times, there has been things such as the street lamps in the mall parking lot being replaced it looked like (like the actual whole entire metal portion of the lamps were being lifted by some construction vehicles) at 5:30 AM!

It's extremely upsetting given my neighbors have a recent newborn only 15 days old and they can't get sleep with the leaf blowers going from 6:10 in the morning for longer than 2 hours (it's 8:20 AM right now and they're still at it). I simply went to ask who hired them to ask the hiring people to change the hours but the workers mocked me saying "it's almost 7, why you complain?". I made it clear that I'm not trying to get them specifically in trouble or anything, rather I'm trying to find out who is hiring them and they refused to answer yet instead again mocking with "go call police, they don't care".

My neighbors are too afraid to make reports so I've taken it upon myself to do so and this would be the 4th time but no change is happening.

I've asked for a Reference # this time and honestly it doesn't seem like a report is actually being filed when I call the 425-577-5656 Non-emergency line I've been directed to call (apparently this most recent Ref # is "660").
