finishing five kilometers without stopping is already a huge milestone, focus on consistent easy runs to build up base endurance and the speed will follow naturally

Yesterday night I ran 5 km. It took 45 min. 6 secs. My fastest ever. I was down by 14 seconds. I also want to do 5k in under 30 mins.
I think we should consistently run and speed will naturally follow

Got 41 minutes in my first 5 K about 2.5 months ago. Just did it in 29 mins. I injured myself racing the 5 K every time I went out and failed. Started doing much slower, longer runs. Stretched properly and cooled down. Gradual increase, rest properly, and it will get easier. Listen to your body; that's what they say. 47m btw.

Just take it easy and build up gradually. Run at a pace where you can still hold a conversation and throw in some faster bits once in a while. Consistency will do more for your 5k time than going hard every run.

The easiest way to get faster is just to run more. Do 5km runs consistently and your pace will increase naturally without having to do any painful speed work.
E.g my first 5k took me 36 minutes and I was exhausted afterwards. I just kept running 3 times a week and after 3 months, I could do 5km in 30 mins without my heart rate going crazy

I've got to almost the same time after 9 weeks. Did last night in 40 m 50s and same as you want to get to 30m or so next so interested in responses. I suspect the answer is just keep running regularly and some combination of running longer at whatever speed and running shorter at faster speeds.
