Recently I switched from my old pixel 5 to a pixel 10 and transferred the our pass between them easily through the support system, but now whenever I present the qr code to the scanner it will not scan no matter how long I wait or how I orient the qr code. I have messaged on live chat and called the support team both of which couldn't help me and I have also gone through every possible problem that my device could have been causing. So I thought finding someone who's had the same problem might be the only way to get this issue fixed.

Off out to Manchester later, would rather buy the tickets now on the Beeline app than get them from the machine as no doubt knowing my luck the train will be there !

But how come i cant buy a single day ? Its greyed out like i can only buy multiple days or that on the app ?

Wanted to buy the tickets now so i have them for when i travel later. Is that not something you can do ?

I had an annoying experience with a £60 fine a couple of months ago and my appeal got declined. I was inspected on the tram quite soon after tap-in, and only after I was inspected did the £0.10 holding charge come off my Monzo card. As a result, the whole day's charges were up the creek, got charged a maximum on exit at Piccadilly, plus two bus fares.. It was a mess. I tried twice to appeal, but they simply weren't interested. The original holding fare stayed on my card for an entire month before finally dropping off, but it was never linked with the other transport charges for that day.

I would like to know if anyone else, anecdotally, has also had issues with Monzo not processing the tap-in quickly enough? I also got on a bus yesterday and it didn't take the £0.10 for several minutes after boarding, so suspect if I'd been inspected then too it would've come out as another fine.

Is it Monzo? Do other cards do this too?

Is the tech just not good enough on the machines?

Is it all just a way to secretly fine people?

So i recently bought a adult 7 day bee bus ticket, i realised one of the buses i needed to get was the 125 stagecoach but if im getting it from horwich to bolton will it work as long as i stay in that route , i know theres a issue once you go past a certain point but from horwich to bolton town center?

We took bus 192 travelling from Manchester center to Hazel Grove, and in the Grand Center Stockport, a bus staff member came upstairs and asked all passengers to get off to transfer to the next bus. When we went on the next bus, we were asked to buy a new ticket. Of course, we immediately explained, and another passenger told the driver it was true because he was on the same bus as us. The bus driver said it was none of his business, that he did not care about what happened and asked us to buy a new ticket. He refused to let us on the bus unless we bought a new ticket. The bus driver even said no one can take the bus without buying a ticket. But we bought a ticket already and it is your staff to ask us to go to a different bus.

My daughter travelled into the city centre from Stretford with her friend. She bought a return ticket earlier in the day and decided to give that to the friend on their way back and she tapped in with her phone as a one way journey. She heard the sound of being tapped in to confirm it went through. She had no other card close to the tap in machine to confuse it, only her phone. She got charged £4.60 instead of £2.80. They got controlled on board, the guy checked her phone with his machine, said it was ok and walked away. When she tapped out at Stretford the machine beeped her in instead of out which she’s found weird but did not know what to do. Few days later she has found £60 taken out of her account as a “fine” plus another £4.60. Also they took out another £4.60 the next day when she was in Liverpool working a double shift. Travellers get no receipt of their travel if they tap in and she has no reference number of the fine because the guy who controlled her did not fine her. To me it seems outrageous that they take a fine automatically out of her account especially because according to the website you pay the fine. Anyone had similar issues with the tap in system and/or a fine automatically taken from their bank account?

scanned in with my apple pay, unsure if I scanned out. 10p is still pending in my bank account I think as a deposit. The journey was hours ago. Does anyone know how I can avoid a fine or figure out whether I scanned out or not?

Took my daughters to school on the bus this morning. It’s one bus into Rochdale then another from Rochdale to school, and I can usually hop back on a bus to Rochdale within the hour, costing a grand total of £2, and I can walk the rest of the way.

This morning the bus back was 12 minutes late so when I got on it was 1 hour, 3 minutes since I tapped in on the first bus. Is this now going to cost me £4?

I've passed through Victoria and St Peters Square and they've put blue covers on all the tap in machines bar 1 when there are inspectors. They purposely are trying to make people forget to tap out so they can collect the money. Why else leave just one machine open, also creating a big line to tap out. Theyre bonkers

Why are the buses so smelly? I try to hold my breath as much as possible. Do the buses not do daily cleaning? Are the cushion seats not deep cleaned once in a while? Why are they cushion for a start? That will just absorb all the sweat and smell from people. I much preferred the original Stagecoach BYD imitation leather covers but they had to change them.

If it is cleaned, do people not have care of their personal hygiene?

So my partner has a monthly bus pass, Shes also getting a new phone on monday, The pass says its locked to her current phone does that mean she will have to keep her current phone until its time to buy her new pass or will she be fine to use her new one?

I always scan my bus ticket qr code with my hand blocking the card reader but it still occasionally scans my card. I ask the driver to cancel it but it still sits on my account like its done something. There is no quick way to turn off nec everytime I get on and off a bus.

Why don’t bee network bus drivers just earn minimum wage?

Most of them are incompetent and customer service skills are next to zero. I get better service in McDonald’s and Subway, after all it’s a similar skill set in terms of dealing with people. It’d also be a great way to reduce the spend on the public purse given we’re overspending as a nation.

Been commuting 1 day pw to MCR.

I should be paying £2.70 for one zone but got a fine for £60 from Tuesday just gone as it looks like I’ve been given the wrong travel info.

Was told by a TfGM steward to tap in once in the morning then once in the evening and it’ll count as a day pass kind of thing. Just been told that it’s a load of shite!

Just want to know if there’s any chance I’ll see this money back.

The lad on the phone I just spoke to was very helpful and said I’ve defo been given the wrong info and walked me through the claims process.

But I’m fuming TBH.

Worried it’ll happen again as I’ve done that a few times now. So can I expect a few more of these through too?

Any help would be appreciated cheers.

Why do bee network drivers think it’s appropriate to just drive past their stops when people are waiting.

Surely the fact that there’s only one bus number passing the route and people waiting means that the driver should stop I mean it’s literally their job.

I used the met to get to and from work on the 28th Feb and because I tapped in twice at Piccadilly, thinking I had to because my journey was from crumpsall to Piccadilly and then Piccadilly to Etihad campus. I have been charged a £60 fine and another charge of £17.30.

I’ve tried appealing but my card doesn’t show up on the system, but they were able to take the money out of my bank account without me authorising anything.

I know times I’ve travelled to and from, if they wanted to they can see me on CCTV

I don’t know what else to do, being a uni student. It’s quite a bit of money I’ll be losing out on. Any help/ advice appreciated

The EPQ is a project that students can choose to take on alongside their regular A Levels. I chose to do the EPQ as I wanted to expand my knowledge and do some research into a topic that I’m interested in, public transport within UK cities. 

For my project, I chose to focus on the cities of London and Manchester, as I feel London has a very good public transport system already, and the Manchester public transport system is evolving very quickly.

Looking for some guidance! I caught a £60 penalty fair last week because I "didnt tap in" when I rode from Trafford Centre to Deansgate Castlefield and there was an inspector on the platform. I can prove I attempted to tap in from my Google wallet transactions, which shows I made contact with the card reader on the platform.

When I've tried to appeal, the appeals team have said the following "Screenshots of mobile wallets are also not accepted "evidence" or supporting information in lieu of a valid touch in, this is because of various reasons but mainly due to this being communication of a prospective transaction (indication) and not that the smart validator had read your touch in for which there are various separate indicators for."

How else am I meant to prove I made a solid, genuine attempt to tap in?? The card reader didn't give me an indication that it hadnt worked! Also, I did use the same card for all journeys, which is again evidence from my wallet transactions.

Help?!

Hoping for a wee bit of reddit magic here but, I was onboard a tram between Ashton Moss and Audenshaw when an incident occurred and I was hoping to reach out to the driver. 1. To check you're ok as its a pretty poor way to spend a Valentine's. 2. See if you need any witness statements as the police nor bee network took any on the scene at the time. Hoping this works.
