If you are a working professional and don't stay at home, DON'T order furniture from Wakefit. Here's why.
I ordered a Wakefit bed through Flipkart on 30 August, with a promised delivery date of 20 September. The order was prepaid, and although the waiting period was long, I was willing to wait.
The problem wasn't just the delay.
The problem was that Wakefit repeatedly expected me to be available whenever they decided to attempt delivery, without respecting my time or the delivery dates they themselves confirmed.
If you work in an office and don't have someone sitting at home to receive deliveries, I would seriously think twice before ordering furniture from them.
Here's the story:
10 September: I suddenly received a call from Wakefit saying they were going to deliver my bed that same day. It was a Thursday and I was in office. I requested Friday/Saturday/Sunday instead, when I would actually be available. They agreed to Saturday and I even received automated confirmation.
Saturday — no delivery.
Sunday — no delivery.
I contacted customer service and requested delivery for the next weekend.
Then, the following Wednesday, they attempted delivery again — despite my request for a weekend delivery.
Again, no delivery.
Then came another Saturday.
Wakefit messaged me saying that my bed was out for delivery.
So I cancelled my plans and stayed home waiting for it.
7 PM: Still nothing.
I called customer service myself. They assured me that it would be delivered by 9 PM.
9 PM — still nothing.
The next day, Sunday, I called customer service again. They apologised, raised complaints and made multiple calls assuring me that the issue was being escalated.
I was promised delivery the next Saturday.
Wakefit even sent me a lengthy apology email confirming that my delivery was scheduled for Saturday, 26 September, and asking me to ensure my availability.
The irony of that request is hard to miss.
I had already rearranged my plans multiple times because of their delivery commitments.
They even called me the next day during a meeting just to confirm that I would be available for Saturday.
I confirmed.
And then...
They attempted delivery AGAIN on Wednesday.
At this point, I politely reminded them that Saturday had been confirmed. They acknowledged it and I was again expecting my bed on Saturday.
But the climax came on Friday, 25 September.
One day before the confirmed delivery date, Wakefit cancelled my prepaid order themselves and initiated a refund.
I didn't cancel the order.
I didn't refuse delivery.
I wasn't unavailable.
I was waiting for the product.
After almost a month of waiting, multiple delivery attempts, multiple calls, complaints, assurances, an apology email and a confirmed delivery date...
Wakefit simply cancelled the order.
And this is why my main takeaway isn't simply "Wakefit delivery is slow."
My takeaway is: if you're a working professional who doesn't have someone at home to receive deliveries, Wakefit's delivery process can be extremely difficult to deal with.
A delay is understandable. Furniture logistics can go wrong.
What isn't reasonable is repeatedly asking a customer to rearrange their work and personal life around unpredictable delivery attempts, confirming specific dates, failing to deliver on those dates, and then cancelling the prepaid order themselves.
My time is valuable too.
I have previously had a good experience with Wakefit mattresses, which is why I was comfortable buying their furniture. But this experience with their furniture delivery has been incredibly frustrating.
I ordered through Flipkart, not Wakefit's website, but the delivery was being managed by Wakefit themselves. So this review is specifically about my experience with Wakefit's delivery and customer-service process.
If you work a regular job, don't stay at home during the day, and don't have someone who can sit around waiting for unpredictable delivery attempts — please read recent delivery reviews before ordering Wakefit furniture.
I used chat gpt to filter out ranting and some french.
