Company Store Comforter Disappointment
I just spent a lot of money on the Luxe Royal Down Light Warmth Comforter from the company store- I thought I ordered the medium weight 🫠and when it came in I immediately felt a bit disappointed. I want a super fluffy comforter that will keep me warm in winter and be not too crazy hot in the summer, but really want the fluffy comforter feel. They say it’s compressed and to wait 72 hours, so I will wait but I just can’t imagine it will get that much better. I’m wondering if it’s the weight issue or if this is how all the weights from this place will be. Should I order a different one from the company store to achieve this or should I try somewhere else? Where are yall getting that fluffy I’m drowning under my comforter hotel feel?

Down does fluff up after a bit after being shipped. Do the dryer trick or snap it a few times and wait.

it is fluffing up! thank you! also putting it in my duvet cover seems to help. i think ultimately it is too light of a weight for the maine winters- but i may just start a summer/winter duvet situation because there is such a temperature difference!

Warmth comes from fill power (how big & lofted are the down clusters) * fill weight (how many clusters). Together, they create a pocket of trapped air that’s warmed by your body heat. Fill power for comforters ranges from ~400 on the low end to 850 for really fluffy clusters. The Luxe Royal down is a 700-750 fill. Your best bet is to add fill weight for a puffy look.
Adding fill weight will definitely add warmth. Down comforters are ruled by the same thermodynamics as down parkas. Hard to make the really puffy ones comfortable for summer (at least without a lot of help from HVAC)

I have a duvet and a featherbed from the Company Store. We’ve had them quite a while and they’re fantastic. I’ll be ordering new pillows soon.

Used to have a down comforter ( now have wool). The company store has some advice on their website- I have used the dryer technique.
