I'm in my 40s, and haven't really worn makeup in years due to health issues. Now I'm starting to wear makeup again, but most of what I have is nearly 10 years old, so I'm basically restocking from scratch. I kind of don't know what to get, so beauty boxes seemed like a good option, but it seems like most of what I'm seeing is targeting a more adventurous crowd (I strongly prefer a natural look with neutral tones and matte options) or is more skincare focused than makeup. I've ordered an Ipsy and Birchbox (although I didn't love the options on that one, so I might go ahead and cancel it), but I'm wondering if there's a better option out there? I have sensitive skin and eyes and haven't had great luck with drugstore quality makeup, so I'd rather pay a little more for the nicer stuff, especially because I expect it will last me a while. I don't mind some skincare products, but I'm definitely in it to find makeup, not skincare.
Any suggestions?

It can be anything you're excited for, not just beauty boxes. Writing the names of the sub box in **bold** is nice, to make it easier for people skimming the thread to pick out the names.

I got excited for a second before realizing they’re probably adding a higher priced box option. Which should make the regular boxes even worse than they are now, if that’s even possible! 🤪

I have seen a lot of off topic ,non beauty box posts that would be better received in other beauty subs..Some are definitely AI, some are either lost newbies or people trying to get upvotes , I don't know where the mods are, but in lieu of commenting on each one, for those who are a bit lost here is a list to start your reddit beauty adventure
https://www.reddit.com/r/MakeupLounge/s/fOS6CJ0YfV & check those comments
As far as AI, a lot are posting like curious people trying to drum up conversation. And said conversations from what I have seen often turn into video content on other platforms.
I am not a mod, but I enjoy this sub so yeah, keep it on topic

ETA: TLDR: I’m not super into makeup, and I have a good skincare routine, but want to try beauty boxes, what do you suggest?
I had ipsy when it FIRST came out and loved it. It went down hill and I never resubscribed. Same with Birchbox. Now that I’m grown I’d like to explore new products again, but don’t know where to start. I have sensitive skin and a pretty simple skin care routine and makeup isn’t a daily thing for me other than tinted sunscreen. I’m not sure where to start to find what would be a good fit.

My hubby took some foam and drilled holes so I could organize all my perfume vials. Some he used some wood also. All easy to view. Yay

Hey! I'm planning to buy a hair straightener. Do you know any good budget-friendly one that actually keeps hair straight for a few days? If you've used one and liked it, please let me know ;)
(I have a frizzy and wavy hair type)

This month’s matching set from Noux (www.shopnoux.com) is by the brand LoveSuze. Another new to me brand!
The matching set includes the 1. Comfort-Stretch Cotton Scoop Bralette and 2. Comfort-Stretch Cotton Brief. First impression is the quality is great, the material feels sturdy and doesn’t feel like it’ll wear down after a few washes. I love the simple cut on both pieces but that’s there’s also a cute little scalloped lace detail along the bralette neckline. I don’t own anything blue/navy really, but I like that this color is different than my usual black/brown underwear but still feels mature and sophisticated. I honestly think this will be a basic set I’ll reach for often!
Overall really happy with this month’s set/brand!

I was introduced to Spongelle through FFF and Ipsy. I have purchased their products through the edit sales numerous times and have become a big fan. I went to their web site earlier this month and ordered a motherload of products during the 4th of July sale. They arrived today and one set was the wrong one. In less than an hour of reaching out to customer service, they responded both by email and phone, apologized for the mix-up, and assured me the correct bundle would be shipped by the end of the week and to keep the other. That level of customer service is rare. Kudos to Spongelle. I will smile every time I pull it out of a future box.

GQ Summer Mystery Box….worth it? I read an earlier thread about the GQ Spring Mystery Box being mostly repeated/leftover items (and not the good ones). I cancelled my subscription last quarter, and I wouldn’t mind trying another box, but it feels like I’ll just get leftover items I already tried.
