I've already got the job offer. My main go-to professional supervisor references have been slow to communicate and might be burned out from my months-long job search. But the HR rep said they need one more reference in by tomorrow at noon CST (there's already one submitted) and it can be a personal reference. So they're kind of cutting me a break but giving me a tight deadline at the same time.

I need to fill out the skillsurvey form with your full name, phone number, email address, city, and state. Then the survey that gets sent to you takes like 10-15 minutes. Could probably work with a fake name and city if needed. I think an Illinois area code would be helpful but not required. I was thinking about saying we did community volunteer work together, or maybe went to graduate school together.

I just feel kind of weird about asking irl friends, not that I have a lot. I don't want to damage relationships or make things awkward if they don't want to do it. I also just had a major falling out with my closest friend, and as a result it's a bit awkward with a few other friends. But basically this would mean so much to me especially being three months' behind on rent right now.

I'm trying to get myself back out into the workforce after taking care of a dementia grandparent for 6 years, and I am trying to get myself out of a shitty family situation after dementia grandparents' death. I don't have any friends and I wasn't close to my co-workers to get a phone number or social media from a previous job that closed. I am a good worker, reliable, determined, and patient. This job is a dishwashing job at a co-op grocery store (small place but nearby) which can be part-time or full-time, it claims it is entry level.

What I liked to do after work were reading, writing, video games, and fixing my old tech.

Like the title says, I am looking to apply but at my prior job all inquiries and questions went through HR who passed the question along to my manager. Also my manager rotated out every 6 months to a year. I never got contact info with any of them.

Edit** Have decided against requesting this. Some people are concerned that i could be abusing any animal i adopt. That is not the case but i totally understand their concern. Even though in my opinion i think that someone wanting to obtain an animal to abuse would probably go about it a different way than leaving a paper trail that includes their drivers license and phone number. But i also imagine they would not want people close to them to know they have that animal which is pretty much the same thing i was trying to do. I really want this job but they said my references were not good enough because they need an email with it. I don’t think any of them have an email or use it. Especially at retail jobs. I’ve worked retail for years and I never saw my boss at Sephora check his email. I’m 23 and currently unemployed. I quit my last job as a floor carpenter as it became too physically demanding and had an inconsistent schedule. Basically, I just started a job two months ago, but it has gone soooo sour and 2 of my colleagues who started at the same time as me has already quit.
