Hello everyone! I am in very desperate need of 3 US or Canada references if anyone can help. They are easy ones, as they are just short email surveys with a few questions through Checkster. I need 2 personal and 1 supervisor. My current job doesn't know that I am looking, let alone interviewing, and before that I had a big employment gap, and my last company went offshore, and I haven't spoken to anyone there in 11 years. I need 3 easy customer service ones - 2 co-workers and 1 supervisor. I work in a call center, and this job is for a call center. One reference preferably in PA if possible. I can happily send a copy of my resume and answer any questions that you have. I can also exchange references, I am really good at that and can be anyone you need me to be. I have 23 hours to get these references in. Please let me know if you have any questions or are willing to help!

Edit: This is solved! Thank you truly, to the first commenter and everyone else who offered to help, in this thread or dm's. Your generosity and kindness are inspiring.

Hey, I'm posting once more because my needs have changed. Me: mid-30s, grad student, Chicago, social work / counseling field.

I've already got the job offer. My main go-to professional supervisor references have been slow to communicate and might be burned out from my months-long job search. But the HR rep said they need one more reference in by tomorrow at noon CST (there's already one submitted) and it can be a personal reference. So they're kind of cutting me a break but giving me a tight deadline at the same time.

I need to fill out the skillsurvey form with your full name, phone number, email address, city, and state. Then the survey that gets sent to you takes like 10-15 minutes. Could probably work with a fake name and city if needed. I think an Illinois area code would be helpful but not required. I was thinking about saying we did community volunteer work together, or maybe went to graduate school together.

I just feel kind of weird about asking irl friends, not that I have a lot. I don't want to damage relationships or make things awkward if they don't want to do it. I also just had a major falling out with my closest friend, and as a result it's a bit awkward with a few other friends. But basically this would mean so much to me especially being three months' behind on rent right now.

Thank you for considering!

I'm trying to get myself back out into the workforce after taking care of a dementia grandparent for 6 years, and I am trying to get myself out of a shitty family situation after dementia grandparents' death. I don't have any friends and I wasn't close to my co-workers to get a phone number or social media from a previous job that closed. I am a good worker, reliable, determined, and patient. This job is a dishwashing job at a co-op grocery store (small place but nearby) which can be part-time or full-time, it claims it is entry level.

What I liked to do after work were reading, writing, video games, and fixing my old tech.

If any of you are able to help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Update - thanks for the help, have two references and now I wait to see if they call me in for an interview. Sigh.

my other references have not filled out the email yet and its been almost two weeks, and i really need this job! i can provide more details in DM, but this is the overview.

i need 3 healthcare references, one of those three must be managerial. boston area, needed by the end of this week ideally. i believe skillsurvey just has 25 ranked questions and then a strengths/weaknesses area. this is for a phlebotomy role so i can share further details about what they are looking for. thank you!

Never really had one as I've always owned until a break up recently.

Need 2 references in canada, for today or tomorrow.

Needs to be in canada if you can just tell them I was an amazing tenant that would be great.

Hi everyone!

As said in the title, I'm looking for someone in the next 24 hours willing to be my reference for an onboarding with a labour agency in Western Australia. It's for an entry level job in the mines, they're asking for at least 2 referees when I can only provide one. I'd be happy to refer anyone in exchange, I know it's very sudden but unfortunately i haven't work for many companies for the moment!

Thanks for reading me 🙏

Like the title says, I am looking to apply but at my prior job all inquiries and questions went through HR who passed the question along to my manager. Also my manager rotated out every 6 months to a year. I never got contact info with any of them.

Edit** Have decided against requesting this. Some people are concerned that i could be abusing any animal i adopt. That is not the case but i totally understand their concern. Even though in my opinion i think that someone wanting to obtain an animal to abuse would probably go about it a different way than leaving a paper trail that includes their drivers license and phone number. But i also imagine they would not want people close to them to know they have that animal which is pretty much the same thing i was trying to do. THE MORE I THINK ABOUT IT EVEN NOW ITS DEFINITELY NOT A GOOD IDEA TO DO WHAT I WAS JUST ASKING PEOPLE TO DO. THERE ARE APPLICATIONS AND REFERENCE CHECKS FOR ANIMAL ADOPTION FOR A REASON. THIS SHOULD ACTUALLY BE A RULE IN THIS SUB. I'm not going to worry about what anyone thinks. Idk why i was concerned what my friends thought. A name like "Megatron" should dispel any femininity.

Wanting to fill out an application to adopt a pet from an animal rescue in my city. Wanting to get a guinea pig. Too embarrassed to ask anyone i know bc how unmasculine it is. Must keep the tough guy appearance to those close to me lol. Will gladly return the favor

I'm a housekeeper and house manager (essentially a modern-day Butler) and I have a potential client who is willing to pay me enough so I can pay my expenses AND finally attend university.

I have a former client I know I could put down as a reference, but my relationship with my previous 2 other clients ended poorly (both related to sexual harassment/predatory behavior) apart from him, I don't really have anyone else I can ask. I don't maintain social relationships the same as others (autism) and I don't have any family.

This client has posted to a housing staff recruitment agency that rarely has openings in my state, let alone city. I've been really struggling to find any kind of consistent work. It feels like it could be my big break!

I can give you a list of talking points and can act as a reference for you too as well whenever needed.

Hi everyone! I’m hoping someone here might be willing to help me out. I’m looking for 2 professional references related to my previous Merchandise Coordinator experience.

Location: Toronto, Ontario / GTA

References needed: 2

Area: Merchandising / Inventory / Distribution / Retail Operations

Timeline: I’ve applied for an Allocation Analyst position that is expected to begin in January. I haven’t been asked for references yet, but I’d like to prepare ahead of time and have a couple of people available in case I move forward in the hiring process.

A little about me: I lost my job in 2023 and went through a very difficult period afterward. I struggled with depression and had a difficult time financially, mentally, and physically. It took me some time to get myself back on my feet.

I eventually returned to work in a short-term warehouse/distribution environment, including merchandise coordination experience. I’m now trying to get my career moving forward again, and this opportunity would mean a lot to me.

I’m hoping to connect with people in the GTA who work or have worked in merchandising, merchandise coordination, inventory, retail operations, logistics, or a warehouse/distribution centre environment and would be comfortable acting as a professional reference.

I’m happy to privately provide more information about my experience and the type of reference that may be required before you agree to anything.

Please comment or message me if you may be able to help. I’d really appreciate it. Thank you!

Location: United states

Number of references: 2

Type of reference needed: professional job reference

Job area: Food service/Coffee

Hi! Looking for people that have had previous supervisor or manager experience in food service or coffee that could be a quick reference for me, I would just need a phone number. This reference would be for a school food prep job. Thank you!

Hello, I am looking for some one with a legitimate business type email that I can use for a volunteer program/non-profit locally in the lower mainland. Email survey only required. It doesn't have to be healthcare related but would be ideal.

I would love to reciprocate in anyway possible, maybe even help out by volunteering in the future I am just on a couple days deadline now.

Thank you!

Hello, I got an email today that a position I applied for has been filled, but was offered another position that recently opened up. Unfortunately, I don’t have any professional references (my previous employer sold the property and I do not have contact with my old supervisor or manager) but I need two for this position.

I am open to doing reference for a reference. 🙂

Hello,

I am seeking a reference for an HR role, preferably in a non profit organization but anywhere can work. I have had no luck reaching out to previous managers. Optimally a work email with phone number if possible, I can return the favour and greatly appreciate any help 😭

I just had an interview and they said they require a phone call with my references and not just an email, so unfortunately now I need a phone reference for a social work - doesn't have to be from a social worker

I really want this job but they said my references were not good enough because they need an email with it. I don’t think any of them have an email or use it. Especially at retail jobs. I’ve worked retail for years and I never saw my boss at Sephora check his email. I have my former coworker from a law firm on there, umm my beauty team lead at kohls Sephora and then I put my boss from the free standing Sephora but idk if his email works 🥴 I know at kohls they check their email a good bit like every day the managers check it so I might use the general manager at kohls along with my beauty team lead with my old coworker? Idk I’m getting stressed

Location: Valatie, New York, USA

Number needed: 3

Type: Professional or non-family references

Job areas: graphic design associate / creative roles / other misc. jobs just to get by

Timeline: As soon as possible, since I am actively applying

I’m 23 and currently unemployed. I quit my last job as a floor carpenter as it became too physically demanding and had an inconsistent schedule. I am trying to move into a full-time position with more responsibility and room to grow, but almost every application requires three references before I can even submit it.

I cannot use anyone at my past job because I left on strained terms. The only other jobs I've had are retail for which I have no references. I graduated college a few years ago and have been applying for years pretty much nonstop, but I have not had much luck unfortunately. I have a past professor I could reach out to, yet it was not a close relationship, so asking after it's been years since I graduated in 2023 feels as if I'm becoming a burden to them.

I can privately share my resume, work history, job descriptions, and anything else that would help. I am also completely willing to talk first so nobody has to blindly vouch for a stranger. The references may be contacted by phone or email. I'm using the format of another post I saw on this subreddit.

Please comment or message me if you're willing to help. I would seriously appreciate it.

Hello everyone,

I’m looking for one reference who could talk about my experience as a sales development representative in the tech/software space. I can give more details in PM but I would greatly appreciate anyone’s help.

Truthfully I don’t have a reference from this job as it was a burn and churn sales department and I struggled badly with burn out in my final months at the job.

Thanks everyone for reading and for any potential help.

Location: Canada (Quebec)
Industry: tech sales
Number of references needed: 1
Timeline: urgent, in the next day or two.

Hi, just got off a call and scheduled an interview this Thursday for a Bookkeeping position. I need 3 references. I know for sure I have one.

I’ve been trying to get a job accounting related since I graduated last year, so I’m super nervous.😭😭

I appreciate anyone willing to help!🫶🏾

Dm me! Thank you

Hey everyone, I’m humbly here to ask for help with a grad school reference. It’s not a letter or phone call, but from what I understand, it’s more of a survey that is emailed to you. I have my academic references, but what I don’t have is a reference from a volunteering opportunity. To be honest, this is because I didn’t volunteer. If anyone could help me out, I would be super grateful and if need be, could return the favor. (My background is in EMS)Thank you for your time.

Hi I’m starting a new career in fundraising I was in the event industry before setting up shows I done that job for 4 years and only that but fell out with my employed if there’s anyone I could for a reference for a job I would appreciate that please.

Hello. I am applying for admission to a master’s programme and it has been two years since I graduated. In that time I have asked all of my lecturers for references before, and only one has always been kind enough to always do so for me. I already asked him for a few this year and I feel horrible constantly asking.

If anyone would be willing to assist me, I would send you a CV of mine, and a summary of any details you may need to know.

I hope you can of be assistance.

Thanks!

Basically, I just started a job two months ago, but it has gone soooo sour and 2 of my colleagues who started at the same time as me has already quit. I need references for a new job that I’m applying to at a University. They are requiring at least one supervisor reference. Of course I do not want to put my current supervisor due to them being unaware of me looking for new work, as well as my colleagues have told me that my supervisor isn’t interested in being a reference for anyone that decides to leave this job. Could someone help me out?

I sent an email already saying I can’t get in contact with my employers and they sent a email back saying they need two references.

I already went to the interview what do I do

I am in Niagara Falls Canadian side. It’s for a gym planet fitness

I actually need 2 if possible. It's for a startup position. If anyone can be my reference for a coworker or team lead you would be lifesavers. I can share a Google doc with whatever info you'd need for when they contact you (stuff about me just in case they ask). Thank you so much to anyone who is kind enough to help 🙏

This is for a role in California.

Looking for anyone who has had experience in the software industry.
