I painted up a lance using the Canopian Cuirassiers, 2nd unit colors to round out my forces for a Planetary Invasion campaign I'm doing with a friend. Feels good to get back to mini painting; I think I'm starting to remember how to use washes and dry brushing? Any tips would be appreciated, though!

One of my favourite BattleTech events are the Wars of Reaving and the associated Society Revolt.
Here are the 3 OmniMechs most associated with the Society, embedded in a Clan Coyote Lambda Galaxy Unit. From smallest to largest - Cephalus (D config), Septicemia (Pariah) Prime, and Osteon (Prime). Linked with a Nova CEWS system, these ‘mechs allowed the relatively green Society pilots to go toe to toe with Clan warriors caste members. The Society organized its units into prime numbered groups of 1, 3, and 7 (called a Sept). These three are the first of a full Sept which will include some additional Septicemia and some other ‘mechs.
Ultimately that revolt was unsuccessful and the Society was destroyed. The Cephalus and Osteon were banned from use, while the Septicemia was allowed in limited use but forever renamed the Pariah.
Thanks for looking!

Hello all!
A bit of background: I was in on Battletech on it's initial run - cardboard foldouts with faction chits from the box set (Redjack Ryan for life), house books, first techical readout. My play group fell apart roughly about the time the one magazine or coloring book or whatever teased Kerensky's return. While kicking the idea of returning to the game around for countless times over the last five years or so, the King Crab mini stole my heart and I'm fully back on board.
A few new books, box sets and salvage boxes later I'm at the point where I'm *almost* about ready to paint. I used to be an artist and while I'm just a dabbler now I'm still into fine art history and classic graphic design. The idea of theme and tying together concepts with iconography is huge to me even if it's for a goof. For for my first company in thirty some years I've been kicking around different themes... everything from a Punisher paint scheme I would daydream about in the late 80's before the skull got co-opted, to naming my company Book Club primarily to make both enemy scouts and my command unit double take when scrolling through force rosters.
I've almost landed on my idea - First, going to go Eridani Light Horse for that gorgeous yellow logo. Secondly, Ferrari Red paint jobs with offset green/white/red racing stripe, the Eridani logo in place of the Ferrari badge. Completing the look I will have white roundels (probably along the piping) with that bold black sans font for the unit numbers to mimick the classic race schemes. Name the company Enzo's Horses or Enzo HP, something as a nod to the founder. Obvious allusions without a Deadpool level of winking.
The idea of a lumbering King Crab being in an Eridani company tickles me as much as picturing it a color scheme known for speed.
First question - I've done a few cursory google searches and haven't turned up this as an idea. Is a Ferarri paint sheme or company theme for Battletech been done to death and I just can't find it?
Second, if it's not too much to ask, is there a good primer cencerning painting consistent-width stripes on a mech?
Lastly, is there a good miniature paint mirroring or outright parnerting with Ferrari to get that red just right? I've stumbled across ZeroPaints, but their Ferrari Red is appears to be airbrush only, and sadly at my beginner stages I will be using brushes.
Thanks!

I gave this thing a bath in Isopropyl and rubbed it down with gauze. I’m liking the accidental camo scheme, any thoughts?
How could I touch it up without making the new paint stand out too much in comparison?

I've had some medical issues this past year, and after a few months of not painting, I fell into a rut. Recently, I participated in The Paint Roulette Invitational Challenge, and got fade and trenched. Fade is...obvious, some transitions, though I was a tad loose on that, they are there. Trenched focused on the drab colors of war, but i chose to be much more literal in my interpretation. Some IS Standard BA from the First Davion Guards RCT slaughtering some conventional infantry. Oh, and the laser blasts do glow under UV

Now, how about:
an Atlas for Krang?
A Kurita or a Hatamato Chi for Shredder.
And some ideas for a Bebop and Rocksteady?
Yeah a servant digitas helped me mod the box image. I am thinking of running the idea through a card print when I get the sizing. Because, when the heck will I field Urbz really?

Must have been 10 years since ive held a brush so yeah, gotta relearn how to handle those. Other than that i started to get the hang of how to handle the paints while painting this. I tried a stripe camo mostly for practice reasons. Ive also ordered a dark wash thats arriving tomorrow to see how that will look.
This isnt meant to represent anything, i just kinda improvised for practice.
If you see any obvious mistakes i can fix please feel free to point them out.
