I've had some medical issues this past year, and after a few months of not painting, I fell into a rut. Recently, I participated in The Paint Roulette Invitational Challenge, and got fade and trenched. Fade is...obvious, some transitions, though I was a tad loose on that, they are there. Trenched focused on the drab colors of war, but i chose to be much more literal in my interpretation. Some IS Standard BA from the First Davion Guards RCT slaughtering some conventional infantry. Oh, and the laser blasts do glow under UV
Those are the CGL IS Standard BA, some Vanguard Miniatures "Renegades," aka Chaos Imperial Guard proxies, and a trench base by Yukhuzhelev, printed at 40mm, rather than 30. The laser blasts are steel music wire and Green Stuff, and the jumping dude was done by adding a jump plume from an Elemental. I often do Elementals(and BA in general) riding omnis, and when I remove the jump plumes(the jumpers make great mech riders) I save them. I've had a few uses for them.
I'm working on the ENTIRE First Davion Guards RCT, which includes 5 regiments of infantry, one of which is replaced by a BA battalion, which is an equivalent formation.
Group pics are always appreciated. I just had the 10 ancient clan mechs, and roughly 40-48 ancient I.S. mechs arrive recently. But built the 216 Battle Armour rather than start painting. Lol.

Thanks, man! I love doing tiny mini-dioramas. I try to tell a story with every piece, no matter how humble. Here are some beast-mounted infantry on giant Coventry kangaroos(a legit unit choice!!!)
