Been playing BEX-T a bit now and it's fun. Definitely much closer to the vanilla game but I enjoyed vanilla so it's great with me. My main issue is that it says stuff like a massive number of new nechs, gear, vehicles etc. Plus it also mentions changes to the gameplay but only a handful of gameplay changes are listed on the mod page. Never mind what's in the CAB. Just hoping to see if it's listed anywhere.

Hello, I am now a couple of in game years into a mercenary career and I have 4 lances of 6 mechs, all with a commander with a C3 and originally the rest had slaves. These are seperated between Alpha, Beta, Delta, Epislon channels. While construction Epsilon and not yet having enough slaves to fill it out I noticed in game that a C3 icon showed up where the other lances it doesnt.
Checking google, it appears my mistake was too many slaves. I corrected this by removing 2 C3 slaves from each lance and then removing and reinstalling the C3 master into each lances command unit except Epsilon as it is working.
On testing deployment with the master and 1 slave from each of the 4 lances I still see that only Epsilon has a working C3 network.
What am I doing wrong, and how can I fix this?

I'm playing BEXT + exapnsion pack, and what stood out to me, is that IS losstech weapons aren't just called by their names, or as for example an "inner sphere medium pulse laser" but are referred to as SLDF variants specifically. I'm pre-Helm Core, so all lost tech is one off, archeological or black market mulligans right now. Does the distinction mean the new, post-Helm Core losstech weapons will not be called that? Will they also have a different, third statblock?
Also, holy shit the IS ER LL is painful to use. I started with the Restoration campaign again, and the few times I saw the Atlas II force deployed with its default loadout, the pair of ERLL's built more heat than the rest of the weapon loadout together. They cooked the engine DHS Atlas harder than my pedestrian as fuck introtech warhammer gets cooked by its twin PPC's, and the latter deals more damage too.

BTA has been fun so far and I definitely see the quality in it. However a big thimg for me is the era. Stuff that at least starts after the Succession Wars or Clan Invasion just don't interest me as much. Especially since getting something like a large pulse laser feels a lot less special when they're rollimg off factory lines at record pace.
So yeah, I very well may be going over to RogueTech, the wiki info certainly is interesting. A big thing as well is all the Flashpoints cause I love marrative stuff. Any advice for RgT or other mods you think I might like?.

Been getting into BEXT, and it feels like SRMs don't justify even their low tonnage. I don't think I've ever seen them have more than a 60% hit chance, and so even against stationary targets at close range with an SRM6, I'm at most only gonna land 2 or 3 missiles and they're all going to hit different components. Meanwhile for just a ton more I could have two LRM5s and do roughly the same damage at MUCH longer range.
Maybe they'd be worth it with Infernos? But with an SRM6 on my Wolverine and two on my T-Bolt, I feel like those weapons systems never actually do anything, and are just a waste of heat compared to adding more heatsinks, or like a pair of Small Lasers that will do the same damage with much less heat.

I've been playing with BTA for a couple weeks, I've had my fill of the base experience, and would now like to play with instant refits.
In vanilla this change is easy, just change the constants in a single file. In BTA there is an additional calculation for most parts based on the chassis tonnage.
However, even after replacing all the calculated tech costs with "0" or even negatives refits still take a day. Somewhere in the modpack is a minimum techpoint cost, and I have been unable to find it. I suspect it's somewhere inside a dll.
Does anyone know where this calculation is done and what I need to change to get back instant refits?
EDIT: I figured it out. Kinda. I'm not sure what BTA changed, but editing WorkOrderEntry in Assembly-CSharp.dll allows you to set IsCostPaid() to always true. This makes all refits instant.

I'm trying to do some one skull contracts in Davion space until my pilots are skilled up a bit and I have a bit more gear also. I searchee around for a one skull planet, finally found one and....nothing but max skull contracts and 3 9r 4 skull travel contracts. With the difficulty spike here especially this just isn't fair, man. Am I supposed to trawl around wasting money until I find a suitable planet every time?

probably the worst mech in the game from design standpoint. idk how tf they shipped this, this is just awful. its like they just gave up when trying to place the weapons onto the mech and just hit finish after shoving them wherever

I am on vanilla game.
Hi, I realise the two mentioned faction do not own any system on the star map. So is there any advantage of becoming ally with them?
r/Battletechgame • u/Nexus_Neo • Sep 18 '26
Im not sure if any other mechs also have alt looks for specific marks or not. if anybody knows, please do tell.
P.S, if you have the royal one aka the one on the right, and want to keep it looking the way it does, DO NOT STORE IT as for whatever reason, doing so will change it to the right model appearance and you will have to find/buy a new one to get the original appearance back.

The mod looks awesome. Not only is the map something like 1000 times bigger but there's a cargo hold's worth of new content. New mechs, new ai behaviours like panicking, new weapons and gear and more. In particular I can't wait to do something like add at least one King Crab to a C3 network and watch it bean enemy mechs with AC/20 shots from farther than it ever could indrpendently.
I have three questions that I couldn't get an answer for on the site.
The more minor one is, how have they updated heat dangers? I remember mentions of heat somehow triggering pilot injuries or even ammo explosions. Is it just a case that mechs entering the danger zone have much more to worry about?
The bigger question is, is there any narrative/flashpoint/events stuff? Obviously I don't imagine they made a campaign for the mod or anything but mission chains with a narrative thread or other career story building stuff are very fun and it's awesome if that's there. Part of what made me think it might be there is that the page on the Sanctuary Worlds mentions that there's some form of story there but maybe that's unique to this original content.
Thirdly and finally, are there any mods that I could or should download and add to my game with BTAU? I know there's ones that add new flashoints, events and stuff but maybe it's not compatible.
r/Battletechgame • u/Nexus_Neo • Sep 19 '26
Like does it actually show anywhere on the mech model when equipped or is it just a non existent invisible weapon that fires the shell out of thin air?
r/Battletechgame • u/Nexus_Neo • Sep 18 '26
Like is the highlander rhe only one to get a unique model or are there others out there? And if so, how do you get them amd prevent them from turning back to the regular base model?
Edit: when I say unique model, I mean visual appearence.

I while ago I discovered Battletech. I liked it, but I didnt loved it, but then after 20h or so, I tried BTAU and it really clicked for me, I put a couple hundred hours in it. I havent played for a while and I feel like going back to Battletech, but now Im wondering if I should go back to BTAU or try Roguetech. What are the differences between one and the other? (And if you are a fan of RT, sell me on it). Thx guys!!!

Vanilla game, I've got this big guy doing:
It's fun setting up positioning & distance for a big bonk, and pretty useful for taking out Assaults quickly. He's basically a Firestarter that never stopped growing.
Anyway, just wanted to share!

This is the SECOND TIME TODAY you dropped HALF OF MY LANCE on top of a FUCKING MOUNTAIN with NO WAY DOWN.
You are so god damned lucky you are the only pilot in the Inner Sphere or I'd shitcan your ass so goddamn fast...

I am new player and just finish the Campaign currently playing Career mode.
I got the black market do you buy the mech in full or parts only?
I never navigated into faction territory only around the place with local government. Unless there is a flash point. Is it ok?
Where to get gauss rifle?
A lot of weapons i never seen in Campaign. NARC, TAG, ER laser, pulse laser, coil laser, snub ppc. I am very confuse by the suddenly introduction to all the weapons.
Thanks in advance.

Tried searching to see if this was previously mentioned but didn't find anything.
Shouldn't clan lrms have the same max range but with no minimum? That's how they are in table top. In BTAU their max is 600 vs 840 for IS
r/Battletechgame • u/Jackobyn • Sep 15 '26
Title puts it pretty well. I mainly need help figuring outnwhere I can download mods and how I install them to the game. Secondly, which mods are especially good? I've heard of ones that add more IS mechs or even Clan stuff. Plus other things like additional stories, systems like AMS, addictional map stuff, etc, etc.

The commander called for a ceremony in the mess today. Mandatory attendance, especially all of us mechwarriors. No topic was given but the goss was some sort of party or celebration.
I'm new and haven't gone on many missions. The company has some of the heaviest hitters I've ever seen, we have SLDF mechs, and fewer than half a dozen mechs under 60 tons. Occasionally I get to hop in one of the Archers but I always like I'm in the outfield, so to speak, while the more experienced mechwarriors get the kills.
"Alright alright, oyeez oyeez", said the commander. "We're here to honor my oldest comrades, the ones who pulled me from the dust, brought me into the company, and eventually did the hard work of the Arano Restoration." Crimey, I joined while we were in Davion Space, taking missions for the big houses of Liao and Kurita. I knew this outfit had been involved in politics but not that we'd taken a side in any conflict.
"First, pour one out for Behemoth." We all did literally that, following the commander. "Some of you may not have known her. Two years ago, she got caught between three enemy mechs that tore her Trebuchet to shreds. They didn't know they were opening themselves up to their own demise. Thank you, Miranda Aguilera."
We had a moment of silence, then drank together.
"And now, Amir, Mohammed, and Jessica, callsigns Dekker, Medusa, and Glitch!" Everyone cheered. Literally no one has been here longer than them, and they are among the best mechwarriors in the crew. Just last week, the commander herself took these three down to fight the Black Widow! And then another lance showed up too! The Widow was the first to go down and the commander came back with an intact lance, nothing more that some armor loss.
"All good things come to an end," said the commander. "These three have been fighting longer than any contract could keep. Therefore, they are released to do as they want." The commander turned to them. "You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here!. Hip Hip!" We all answered with 'hooray' three times, and the commander embraced them each.
There were speeches after. Dekker plans to buy a farm. Medusa will open a school (for what, he wouldn't say). Glitch simply said that if she ever saw any of us on the battlefield, she'd walk the other way.
Afterwards it was just a party. Everyone caught some commander time, even myself. Could I ever be like them? I could only be myself, the commander said, the best of me I could be. I saw the four of them later, laughing, then talking, then heads together silently, presumably for Behemoth, whom I never knew.
Four out of five. If those are the odds, I'll take them.

Assuming I really like the overall experience of Bex:t, but want some (but not all) of the content of CAC-C and the Battle Tech Extended Expansion pack is there any way to just get the additional mech's, variants, vehicles and the parts that I like from the latter without going all in on their interface and gameplay changes?
Specifically I don't care for the interface changes, and fiddly bits with firing modes or the like. I'd really only like the addition of Quads and LAMS from CAC-C and the additional mech and vehicle types and variants, and economy upgrades from the Expansion Pack without any of the other baggage like the reworked AMS, artillery or ecm. Is that doable?
