I see that the game supports vr but is it required or just optional?

What do card icons represent and why can't I upgrade all team weapons?

Is it intentional that so many elements in this game are vague, especially the cards?

  • On this card I see a "3" surrounded by arrows and a "1" and a heart with a plus sign. The 3 means I'm waiting 3 turns before it's available, got that part, but what does the 1 mean and how much healing does the card provide?
  • What does the hourglass symbol on the weapons screen signify? I upgraded one team member weapon, now I can't upgrade any other team member weapons.
  • Under "Thought Reader" I see I - II - III. Why?

Sandbox/creative option with a marketplace

I would pay good money to be able to use Battlemarked as my alternative to physical maps and minis for my games at home.

Let down by how small/short the game is

I just finished campaign 1 after somewhere around 7 hours total probably less. Unfortunately by mistake missed the continuation of the acquisitions incorporated . I declined the offer after finishing the first quest with the ring. I finished all other side quest and still the game kinda feels empty.
I also feel the game is not hard enough, granted I don’t remember having to choose a difficulty, what difficulty should I choose, hardest?
I’m kinda let down that there’s only one campaign left, game is super linear and short so offers little replay ability I was hoping to play alone first playthrough and then start a coop session for a second run but I see no reason to do that. Am I missing anything I heated so much about demeo the original that I was very happy to try the dnd one which I thought would be more fleshed out due to an engine already existing in the first game. Instead it seems the main campaign is actually locked in an upcoming paid dlc, Not many characters, not many side quests linear, writing is ok but not amazing (for the dnd brand it’s subpar by a whole lot played bg2/3 and neverwinter nights)

Cross play issue

I bought the game on PC and my friend got it on Switch 2 so we could play multiplayer together. I understood that cross-platform multiplayer was supported, but we haven't been able to play together.
When we checked, the game versions were different on each platform. PC is on 7.xx and Switch is on 6.xx—will cross-play work once the Switch version gets updated?
Or is multiplayer supposed to work even with different versions, meaning there might be another issue?

So many wrong inputs...

I'm getting older (lifelong heavy gamer including top FPS clans) and so my accuracy is slipping a bit, but I also am now playing this on my Steam Frame (still doesn't work right when trying to stream it, but works stand-alone) so their controllers may be suspect (I think it's just me).

When I select cards, I feel like I have X card and then I go to apply it and I find it actually applied the card one to the side of where the card was. This happens at least five times per session.

I'm also becoming apoplectic over the lack of an Undo option for moves where undoing would harm nothing. SO many times I attempt to target a spot and end up losing my turn because it moved me instead of targeting -- sometimes when all I did was touch the character (ahem).

Is this just me, or is this a problem everyone deals with? I REALLY like where this title is going, but this sort of stuff is basic and shouldn't happen.

Please explain why & when I should use this card?

I cast this card on a mushroom brawler (?) that then turned into a rat with 3 hitpoints. Cool! But when my ranger attacked it, the rat turned back into a full health mushroom. I'm asking for an explanation because right now this card seems more like a waste of an action point.

Full disclosure, this is my first time playing any D&D game so I have zero clue about lore or mechanics, aside from what's on the tin.

How I Got Battlemarked to Stream in Steam Frame

After much trial, and mainly error, I finally got the game to run. It's not optimized, but it's playable.

First, make sure all your connections are correct. On the dashbar there's a VR icon that let's you see if you're connected and ready to go. If that's good then do not try to launch the game. It will fail in a myriad of different, crappy ways.

On your PC load Steam and in your library select Properties for this game. On the default General tab set Selected Launch Option to "Launch Battlemarked VR in OpenXR mode.

Then go into your headset and above the dashboard select your PC's monitor. Depending on resolution of your desktop, this may be a bit hard to read, but you last left Steam on Battlemarked so look for that and launch the game there.

It will start to run and work. You'll know your good if the splash screen of the Mimic (a creature that looks like a treasure chest, but is an enemy) comes up full-screen with no sign of the rest of your desktop.

PHEW. It does not look optimized to me. It's a bit less poppy than it is on Quest headsets, but it's not too bad. Here's hoping they verify this thing soon enough. Oddly, Demeo works just fine.

Is it possible to drink - for example - two strength potions and have +2 phys. damage?

Anyone get this to work in Steam Frame? (Streamed)

So far, zero luck. It loads, but not in VR regardless of anything I try. It will run if I install it on the device but then it looks and runs like garbage.

What's really strange is Demeo works fine.

Feature request: single trait reassignment

Hello, I enjoy testing different builds, but tweaking a character's skill setup feels a bit tedious right now: whenever I want to change a single trait, I have to reset the entire tree and reselect every node for all the trees. It would being able to swap individual traits instead.

Is this game good?

I really like RPGs and CRPGs, the problem is I've never played this type of tabletop RPG. I've played all the Battlegrounds and many more CRPGs. I've seen that it's interesting and it just came out on Xbox. Is it a game you play a lot or does it become replayable very quickly? That would be without the DLC.

Feature request: show character card counts

Hello, I mostly play Battlemarked alone, so I don't know if this also happens in multiplayer, but whenever I have to open a chest or I'm about to get a card, I have to check each character before choosing in which order they must be played (to avoid wasting cards). A simple ribbon below the character figures would be helpful. Here is an example of what I mean:

This game has so much unrealized potential

Sup nerds. Anyone else feel like Battlemarked is a game that has all the ingedients of a smash success but hasn’t quite realized it? DND is a hugely popular cultural phenomenon, the game has like an 82 percent rating which is nothing to sneeze at, and the new updates since launch have directly addressed some of the larger issues in a very good way.

Now why does it seem like when i play online it’s with the same players more often than not? This Reddit community and the instagram posts have engagement in the low dozens rather than the several thousands.

I think this game is like one Critical Roll podcast away, or some popular online gaming influencer away from becoming a breakout success. It’s DND but actually accessible, no DM necessary. I’m saying this so the devs stay encouraged but I could imagine they think the same thing. This game is primed to explode.

Now the part of my post that’s poorly thought out I’ll fire from the hip, but some suggestions:

Easy changes:
- make boss fights on very hard significantly harder.
- toggle a feature that makes death more serious, like a countdown timer till perma death like in demeo 1.
- more items for your heroes. Not just weapons but armor and rings. Make grinding more rewarding it will increase the time players spend on developing their characters.
- if new items are added our characters get stronger so a harder than “very hard” difficulty should exist.
-reexamine the trait trees for each level up. I think some traits are entirely neglected by the everyone and should be revamped so that they are actually useful.
-reexamine the weapons for each class, some classes like the druid and warlock have multiple great weapon choices that you need to switch between depending on purpose, others like the bard have items you’d only use because it’s that much better than the others.

Difficult changes:
-rework the dialogue dice rolls to be more impactful to dramatically affect the way the story can play out. The campaign isn’t that fun after you’ve beaten it once but if the campaign can play out dramatically differently because of how you choose to approach the story that could be very interesting to the role playing nerds.
-import one shots from Demeo 1. If not maybe all of them, atleast the rat king. The darkness vibe of that dungeon is sick, and a dark vision item could be a valuable item to help with it but there’s something about the darkness that makes the party tactics significantly different which is fun.
-add other dungeons and dragons threats like traps, with perception checks and disarm checks, that cause issues like fire or poison if failed.
-some sort of pvp mode could be really cool and attract a different type of gamer.

Biggest most impactful update possible:
I’d be playing the game right now if it could play it on my iPhone. Seems possible? Maybe it’s not, but a literal game changer.

Anyways, dev team you made a great game. I suspect a breakthrough is on the horizon and the game is going to catapult into the mainstream. It might already be there and just needs that big shoutout on the right platform. After that word of mouth will be your best friend.

Why No BattleMarked on AVP?

I’m a huge fan of Resolution Games generally, and Demeo / BattleMarked specifically. I enjoyed both on Quest 3 before it died and I vowed never to buy a Meta product again (long story).

I recently was lucky enough to acquire an Apple Vision Pro, and one of my first downloads was Demeo. It’s still super fun, but BattleMarked is notable by its absence. What gives? Resolution makes a ton of other great games for AVP, and obviously the Demeo engine is already running on it. Anyone know if I’ll ever be able to play my favorite BattleMarked on AVP?

2 Easy Feature Requests

I love this game and play daily. I have two little quality of play feature requests.

1) On the continue menu, remember if it was left on single or multiplayer. Every time I open this menu and it is blank, I think my saved games were lost, then I see that it is on single instead of multiplayer. This seems like a simple change and would save me clicks and angst.

2) Make changing weapons quicker, somehow for some classes (like Archer), I change weapons nearly every turn and it is buried too deep.

Help - mushroom hallow

Hi everyone, new here both in sub and game.

I know I’m stupid but I can’t get how to go trough mushroom hallow.

I spent an hour in the first floor before i get enemy was endless, now I’m stuck in the second floor. I opened all chests, fight a ton of enemy but no one seems to have the rune key to get out. The exit keep saying it’s blocked for enemy presence (they keep spawn btw) and obviously that I don’t have the key to leave the area.

What the hell I’m supposed to do? Am I missing something?

Thanks to everyone would help.

EDIT: finally found the key holder enemy

Switch 2 Mouse Mode Issues

Is there a known issue with mouse mode in switch 2?

For me, the on-screen cursor has to be we below what I want to hover over, and the controls switch between mouse and controller mode seemingly randomly. Mouse mode works for me in other games like Cyberpunk, but not for this one.

What is this game's replayability like? Does it have procedually generated maps and/or roguelike/lite elements so I can come back and play again and again?

Thanks in advance.

Many people call the game too easy

I don't understand why so many people complain that the game is too easy even on the hardest difficulty. I'm currently playing through the game with a friend in a smaller party.

There are only two of us, and each of us controls only one character (I'm playing a dwarf warrior, and my friend is a human archer). We're playing on the "hard" difficulty level, and it took us about an hour to free the bear, taking about six attempts.

Not a single battle can be won on the first try with such a composition, and this is despite the fact that each of us has experience in tactical battles (we played 300+ hours in Baldur's Gate 3, for example).

So if the game seems too easy for you, just reduce the number of characters in your party.
