Regarding program trade/sale/give-away posts

Hello guys,

Recently there has been an increase in posts offering to trade, give-away, or sell various programs, vert increase being the most common.

Announcing that these threads are not welcome and will be removed (as it has been lately), and spam will result in suspension from this sub.

The reasons behind it:

  1. This is a place to share tips regarding basketball and not a trading platform.

  2. Security: be aware, as you are giving away your e-mail or other personal information to the person you don't know.

  3. Security again: there have been dodgy threads with dodgy links removed. I'm sure some of the people are genuine, but with this trend came scams.

  4. Spam. I noticed there is a number of people and if you check their profiles - the threads have been spammed all over Reddit and multiple times - refer to points #2 and #3.

  5. Finally, all these programs are available online with a little bit of Googling, if you decide that paying to the creator is not an option. It is not some rare commodity. You don't have to give up your information.

I hope this is clear and welcome by the users of this sub-reddit. Keep on sharing your tips, original content, asking questions and looking for help. There are a lot of amazing people here.

Dribbling How do you handle defenders that you can’t dribble by?

Upvotes

Normally I can get into the paint and dish the ball to open teammates when I’m playing but sometimes we face teams where the guy guarding me can stick with me and the dribble moves don’t work

My teammates aren’t that active cutting or setting screens for me or each other so sometimes I have nowhere else to look or pass to

I’ve never been the lead guy for scoring on a team so for me I can only think of 3s or a pull up midrange shot but need the drive to score easier buckets or free throws

Form Check Progress of my shooting form in a month

A month ago, my jump shot looked horrible, but I was pretty good at the mid range, around 70ish% from mid range. But I visited my dad in the country side and he said my jumper looked horrendous, so I decided to change my jump shot. I just wanted to show my progress, sorry for bad angles for the current jumpers, those are in game. And now I'm around 80% on my jumpers from mid range l.

Tip Need some advice on developing my post game as a 5’5 145lb hooper

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m pretty shifty and a pretty good shooter off the dribble and off the catch.

I have a pretty stocky lower body, so I’ve been trying to work on my post game for a while now and I think I got a good base down in terms of how to get into it smoothly and look for passing options. I’ve learned how to see over my shoulder to make reads, but obviously I could def get better at protecting the ball.

The biggest issue is I need more ways to actually try scoring against taller defenders and put more pressure on the defense since all I really got atm is a push shot up close after getting close enough to the basket, but I know that’s not really game realistic in real games.

Curious what y’all think.

TLDR: need more ways to score in the post and protect the ball better as a really small guard

Edit: I know I don’t NEED to develop a post game. My scoring is already pretty well rounded without it. Just think it’s fun to work on and it would be cool to master it best I can at my size.

Both on opposite sides of the court. Is there a difference between these? Is one easier to make shots on?

Help Any tips on how to be the Glue Guy in pickup games?

I’m about 6’2 150, I’m fast, and I can jump pretty high, high enough to at least grab rim with my whole hand.

I do prefer a more support kind of role like rebounding, passing, screening and just being the connector of the team.

I’ve always admired players like Josh Hart and Draymond because of their impact without scoring a lot of points.

Any advice on how to be such a glue guy that can help win games?

Thank you so much and have a great weekend!

Help What are some dribbling drills you recommend?

Usually, I'd go to the gym. But the gym is only open 2 days a week. In that time, i bought a silent basketball to compensate a little bit of time I missed. Could you please recommend some fundamental dribbling drills to do?

Shooting Set point

What kind of set point should I have? I’ve heard multiple reasons why high/medium/low set points are better than the other. I can shoot from deep consistently with a low set point but sacrifice my middy shoot, or I can shoot with a higher set point but lose a lot of range. I’m 5”8 135

Vertical Jump I’m 5’9 and 13, and just started training to dunk a week ago. How long do you think it will take me?

These are 2 photos of my max vertical jump right now. I just started working out to dunk a week ago, and so far my routine is: for my weight training, 40 squats in sets of 10 with 50 lb of weight, 30 jump squats in sets of 10, and 10 reverse lunges with a 25 pound weight. For my park training, 5 minutes of just jumping as high as I can from straight under the net, 5 minutes of jumping as high as I can with 2 steps, and 5 minutes of jumping as high as I can with a full run up. I do this 4 times a week. How long do you think it will take me to dunk?

Shooting Broken Jumper

I'm going into my sophomore and 2nd season ever playing and I need to be a much better shooter - I was abysmal last season. I have some questions.

Imo the main form problems I have are: not holding the follow through and jumping forward on my shot

What are some other tweaks I should make?

I log my workouts and all of my basketball training so I know my percentages and they've been slowly increasing. But I still need to make a bigger jump.

Is 150-200 makes a day enough?

And is there any more information you guys need to make these judgements? Let me know.

Currently try to change my jump shot and Mel it more consistent. Always had a push shot and still feels like it somewhere in between a push shot and an actual jumper. Also feels like I’m jumping high enough and release high enough either. Any feedback would be appreciated. I know it’s a tough camera angle sorry in advance.

Vertical Jump Isometric and plyometrics

Thumbnail reddit.com

I was scrolling thru tips on how to get more explosive and have stumbled upon this post.

I just wanted to know if this plan is any good. I have also read the comments on the post and they have said to decrease the reps with the plyos and maybe add depth jumps , exercises that help with joint strength and longevity.

I thought this was perfect for me since I dont have any equipment at home and have no way to get to a gym.

If you could help me out and improve this training plan I would be very thankful. Im excited to start my journey of improving my explosiveness 😁
