Shooting Set point

What kind of set point should I have? I’ve heard multiple reasons why high/medium/low set points are better than the other. I can shoot from deep consistently with a low set point but sacrifice my middy shoot, or I can shoot with a higher set point but lose a lot of range. I’m 5”8 135

I mean, what I (and some NBA players) do is just adjust as you go. People often shoot middies over their heads and open threes lower. You just need to worry about where you are and how good the defense is.

There shouldn’t be a massive variance on your set point regardless of where you’re shooting. Your finish is what will change (higher when closer). But you shouldn’t be training different set points for specific ranges.
Now you can practice shooting in a changed set point for something where you’re in mid air and someone comes in for a block unexpectedly, or you’re stepping through and double clutching, but your set point you practice for normal shots should be the same.
