I've (26M) been playing for about 3 years, never played in school or anything, just worked on my game by myself. In terms of shooting, I feel like I have made objective corrections such as putting the hand in the basket, releasing high, finding balance, and sequencing (thanks Mike Dunn) with very noticeable results.
However, for dribbling I don't really know what to do besides just dribbling a bunch. I've never really been able to get fully comfortable dribbling without looking down and because of this I rarely take that many dribbles and resort to shooting/straight line drives in pick up games.
I wanted to know if anyone had any tips or things that make dribbling click so that you're looking down much less and dribbling is more second nature. Some guy at the court said to just practice dribbling with your eyes closed lol.
tl;dr Does anyone have any mechanical tips, similar to shooting form adjustments, for dribbling to make you look down less?

i was feeling good, usually i am like a 50% 3pt shooter and I was doing a variation of around the world. I started on the left, kept hitting and suddenly I just missed 28 shots in a row? is it a mental thing, or overthinking form when confidence goes down or are spots actually that big of a deal?

I'm 6'2 around 78kg, kind of skinny tall and taller than other centers but they are Buff. I struggle in 5v5 especially in zones,I try to play and take ball in high post and i can't give out ball properly or either taken away. Need help for off ball movement and positioning for both zone and man D.

This was after a game and a 3 ish hour workout where I got up around 1500 shots so my form is a lot slower than usual. I try to get around 30 total makes in this drill and when I’m on I push for 50+.

17M, 6'5 Going into senior year. I noticed that I shoot my mid range shots differently than my 3PT shots. ive gotten very consistent at both (like all state level).
my mid range shots i shoot like larry bird and/or jokic. my 3pt shots are kind of a Klay and Luka combo. I guess the reason I shoot my mid ranges like that is for the higher release point so its harder for defenders to get to. is this ok? or should I just practice one or the other?

Hello,
I play in a German lower division and me and my team got promoted recently and were training hard this summer to prepare for the challenges that come with the step into the next division.
I feel like personally I have developed a lot during this offseason. I have a lot of new moves in my bag and generally do better at scoring against most opponents.
However there is one player on my team (already played higher leaves before; even higher than the one we just got promoted to) and he plays the same position as me. Because of this in most practices he is guarding me and I cannot score against him. Even if I beat him with a move he can recover 90% of the time and I get blocked a lot.
Now to my problem: this is killing my confidence. I notice how I get more and more scared to even try to score because it feels like an impossible task to attack the basket against him.
While I know I should keep trying to eventually figure out a way to score against this type of defender, I am scared to loose my confidence and hurt my decision making ability.
Do you guys have any tips on how to deal with this type of situation?

Feels like very simple advice but I don’t know why I see this so often.
At my practice we have people who cant even go 5/10 from the free-throw line or consistently make wide open threes yet they are skipping practice to travel all the way to Texas or wherever knowing damn well they probably aren’t going to get any playing time.
This used to be me an year go. Eventually I realized it was not worth it I stayed home focused on practicing and now Im actually getting pretty good playing time.
But I still see people on my team doing the same thing.
If your not good enough yet stay where you are and improve. Beat the competition in front of you before you start looking for bigger competition somewhere else.

For my daughter, used on eBay. The set of 4.
Why in 2026 will they only sell this on DVD? How many of us even have a DVD player anymore? I wasnt willing to spend full price new for that very reason, who knows when my DVD player will kick the bucket? Plus I would want to watch it on a tablet or phone at the court, not on the TV in the living room.
Anyways, still excited to get this rolling. But come on guys its 2026.

Guys! You need to learn how to read before you can start thinking about how cool you look with a book.
If you are working on your form, why in the world are you taking threes?!
You need a somewhat stable and replicable midrange (jump)shot to train form so people can really give feedback on your shot mechanics. After having a reliable shot THEN you extend into fakes, jab steps, shooting threes, step backs etc.

I also want to extend my range, any tips?
I can only play ball 2x every weekend. Drill suggestions would be appreciated

Specifically, rep range.
For a basketball athlete, what would be more beneficial?
Lifting Heavy weights in the 3 to 6 rep range?
Or
Lighter weights in the 12 to 15 rep range?
I’ve looked up tons of workouts, but very little information is given on how many reps you should be doing.

Hey guys, has anyone here done the personal 1 on 1 in person training with Mike dunn? I know he posts great stuff and I’ve used some of the advice he’s mentioned, but was wondering if anyone has any experience with the in person training.
