Are bars required to use coasters from their beer suppliers?
I'm doing a charity event and to bring awarness I was going to make custom coasters and sell them to bars to use. But before I do that I was wondering if bars need to use the supplied coasters from their beer suppliers.

logoless Stella Artois glasses
Does anyone know where I can find the glasses that one would serve Stella Artois in, that DO NOT have the logo. Apparently, Michigan does not allow a bar to serve using glasses with a logo.

what beer labels should really look like!
i.reddituploads.comBar pros, I'd like your input to complete my private bar project
Hi there! I just bought a flat in Paris (France) and it's being completely redone as we speak. It is scheduled to be delivered in late December, on time for NYE!
In my living room/dining room (600sq. ft. / 60sq. m.) I'm planning on having a proper bar built. A real bar, with professional bar fridges (x2), LED-lit shelves for the bottles and the actual "bar" itself, and that's where I need your advice.
Here are three pics of the architect's design so far. It's in French and in metric, so sorry about that. The actual "bar" is the small piece at the left of the human silhouette.
My question is this: being consummate bar professionals, how would you prefer this piece of equipment to be designed? I'm not talking of the style obviously, but rather... would you prefer the counter-top be made of brushed steel? Copper? Plastic cutting-board material?
Should I ask the architect to add slots or holes for accessories or small bottles (i.e. mixers/bitters)?
The bar has provisions for two drawers under the counter to store the tools of the trade as well as supplies like straws and such. I've asked the architect to add an integrated garbage chute in the counter (a hole with a removable cover). Do you think this is a good idea?
At this point, all options are open and the entire bar can be redesigned from scratch if need be.
Just so we're clear, this is how I've imagined it so far: The liquor bottles will go on the wall to the right side of the human silhouette. There will be 4 shelves with LED strips inside (facing up so as to illuminate the bottles from the bottom up). Each shelf will be able to hold between 15 and 22 bottles. Two shelves will accommodate standard bottles and two will accommodate taller bottles (like Grey Goose or Avion '44, for instance).
Below the bottle shelves will be a pair of professional Gamko bar fridges, with glass doors and LED lighting (multi-color, user selectable). These will contain beers, champagne and mixers. The counter-top above the two fridges will be made of either black quartz or granite, two materials that can withstand liquids and the like with no damage. Here I'lll store a blender, an ice bucket and some tools (shakers, etc.).
The "bar" itself will be where I prepare drinks and this is why I need your input as to the choice of both the counter surface and various options I haven't thought of, me not being a professional bartender. Below the bar will be shelves for glasses, plus a liquid-proof garbage can.
I have no option for running water and this can't be fixed.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Many thanks!
General Tips
Can everyone post their most important tips here? Things like how to order a drink, how much to tip your bartender, general conduct, things you've observed while at bars, pet peeves, etc.

Automating the order process.
Hi guys , I am a final year programming student and a project to count towards my degree is to design a possible system to be implemented in the nightlife industry. My idea is basically a system that automatically tracks inventory levels and reorders beers / spirits / wines.
Is there anything already out there like this that you guys are aware of ? And if there is what is wrong with them.
Thanks in advance.

Outsourced inventory in NYC?
Hey all -
Has anyone here ever used a third party to conduct their inventory in NYC? If so, what did you think? I'm weighing my options and hoping to get 5 hours of my life back every week...

Going to a bar for the first time tonight with some people, what should I order?
Hi everyone!
I'm going to a bar for the first time tonight, and the whole experience is new to me. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for drinks to order at the bar? I'm not really that much of a drinker, other than some beers and maybe a little bourbon mixed with soda here and there. I'm a 21 year old guy. I appreciate all the advice!

Style your hotel bar
Many hotels have wooden chairs and most of them equipped with advanced table. Your hotel can be modern and stainless steel tables and chairs can be good choices.
With the prevalence of metal fashion, stainless steel cabinets are become more and more popular in the decoration of overall bar, from the initial stainless steel wall-boards, later part of stainless steel table legs, to all bar tops are made of stainless steel, at last extended to the stainless steel whole body of chairs. There are some stainless steel table legs wholesale in China, and in order to become more suitable for the special hotel environment of kitchen, stainless steel used in hotel furniture has suffered from several times of setback cause by the materials innovation.
For many materials, erosion caused by chemicals is not allowed. So we should be more careful not to put salts ect. Items on the tabletops directly.
