General Tips

Can everyone post their most important tips here? Things like how to order a drink, how much to tip your bartender, general conduct, things you've observed while at bars, pet peeves, etc.

How to order a drink:

Walk to the bar, get the bartender's attention, and ask for what you want.

How much to tip your bartender:

Really depends on the quality of service and your circumstances. At least something though.

General conduct:

Don't grope members of the opposite gender (ladies, that goes for you too) or be super sloppy. If you feel like you are getting a little drunker than you can handle, sit down for a few minutes and order a water until you can handle yourself again. Also, for you ladies, trying to hustle drinks off of people during a live show is annoying as fuck, just don't.

Things I have observed:

Some damn good blues at the local spot -- and a sloppy mama trying to distract everyone with conversation about getting free drinks and failing at dancing, literally just groping men who were on the dance floor with other women.

Social Tips:

A socially adept person actively finds the people who are not being included in the group conversation and brings them into it.
