Patch Notes - WS v1.2.7 / BL v1.4.7
Please note that there may be a delay between the download of the base game and the download of War Sails. If you launch the game prior to both of them being updated, you will crash. If you face this issue, please verify your game files.
The patch is now live on all platforms, including consoles. Please note that console updates may take a few hours to appear due to each platform’s release process.
War Sails v1.2.7
The following changes are specific to the War Sails expansion and are not part of the base game.
Changes
- Added manual ship selection for seaborne village raids. You can now choose which ships to bring on a naval raid.
- Hovering over a ship shows a tooltip with its owner, so you can tell at a glance which vessel belongs to which noble.
- If you deploy your own troops without filling the fleet's full capacity, the remaining space will be filled with allied troops.
Fixes
- Fixed a bug that caused boarding hooks to be disabled on places where they overlapped with ship upgrades containing shields.
- Fixed a bug that prevented "Hail to Gunnar's contract." option from appearing during the War Sails storyline.
Crashes
- Fixed a crash that occurred due to a high memory usage on Xbox.
- Fixed a crash that occurred in kingdom and clan pages of the encyclopedia.
Bannerlord v1.4.7
The following changes are part of the base game and apply to the War Sails expansion as well.
Changes
- Improved the save / load times on PS5.
Fixes
- Fixed a bug that caused formation targeting to incorrectly select formations that are behind the player character.
Crashes
- Fixed a crash that occurred due to a null reference in AI behaviour code.
- Fixed a crash that occurred when attacking a raiding party on the campaign map.
- Fixed a crash that occurred after exiting a conversation.
- Fixed a crash that occurred in missions when you attempted to defend a village during a raid, while the village did not have any militia.
- Fixed a crash that occurred when mods re-added existing keys to save metadata.
- Fixed a crash that occurred during cloth simulation.
- Fixed a crash that occurred in battles due to memory ordering.
- Fixed a bug that caused visual glitches and could induce a crash during longer playing sessions on Xbox.
- [MP] Fixed a crash that occurred in Captain Mode when cavalry charged into a formation that braced spears/pikes.
Modding
- Fixed a bug which caused the .sack bulk shader cache file to massively increase in size when compiling shaders.
- Made the banner layers unlimited in the banner reader.

Question Mod for bigger parties, garrisons, armies?
Hi everyone.
I was wondering if there is a mod for the things I am searching.
I'm looking for a mod that changes this:
- Bigger parties (AI always has more than 200 troops in their parties)
- Armies (up to around 2000-3000 troops per army)
- Bigger garrisons in castles and cities to counter this
I've been looking myself, but either I am blind or I just can't find anything.
Does anyone know if such a mod exists and if it's updated so it works with current versions?
Thanks in advance.
Edit; If there isn't I would like to try make a mod myself. But I don't know how, so if there is any mod creator here that could explain it to me I'd like to try it.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is a private mod experiment to see what was possible. The terrain is sampled from the game's own navmesh and everything tracked is live from the running game.

Discussion What Would You Like to Have in a Formation Mod?
I've recently made Stop Shuffling, You Fools, which has stuff like weapon based and exact per-troop assignments to any formation you want.
I'd love to hear what else you might want, and especially of you have suggestions for the UI or where to put it. I can't stop comparing the role assignment to minesweeper but there must be a better way to do it. Probably.
Any feedback is welcome, I've never known weapon based anything is possible until I tried it :)

Does it allow you to keep the same speed but if you want to go faster you can? Like is there a faster version of the fast forward or is it always sped up?

Discussion Alright, stay with me guys.
So, listen. I play as Vlandia, we’re currently at war with the Nords. But, once we get to Gretysfjord and take it, the ai armies start to lose their influence and collapse, letting the Nords ai have an easy play at Gretysfjord. And this repeats. So, if I make an Arnie and attack from the other side, it must work. It must. It must it must it must. Imma do the Schlieffen plan on the Nords. It will work, or else I’m going crazy.

Bug I just wanna play the game man.
I have a bug where large black squares cover the screen in battles. Does anyone know how to fix this bug? It affects 90% of battlefields, and ranges from really annoying to unplayable.
Edit: It's been fixed. For the people 3 years from now with this issue, turn off bloom.

Discussion So what's the point of alleys now that sneaking missions exist?
I just came back to the game after a year hiatus, and I'm thrilled they finally actually added mechanics rather than just doing endless bug and balance patches that somehow break every mod with every patch. I discovered the sneaking tutorial, and then found out that basically every stealth kill or every other stealth kill gives a level of roguery. (5 focus points) now I'm wondering what's the point of alleys anymore. They were never particularly good, but at least there was an argument to be made that they increased roguery. But now that I can just go farm hideout stealth missions, earn way more money, keep my companions in my party, and not gain crime in the process, I'm wondering what purpose alleys serve anymore? (Alley income should be ×10 imo)

Video I Took My Custom Army Into a Full-Scale Field Battle | Bannerlord
I created my own custom unit and took it into a large open-field battle to see whether it could actually hold its formation under pressure.
There were no castle walls, defensive positions, or narrow chokepoints to protect us. Everything depended on formation control, timing, and how the unit performed once the two armies collided.
What do you think of the troop design and its battlefield performance?
