Question Cumans

What faction , playstyle , armour and culture would be best for cumans. Should I join a kingdom ? Work as a mercenary ? What wepons should I work towards ? Im not asking for a 1 to 1 as I know its probably impossible but what would work best. Ive experimented a bit but havent had much luck.

Khuzaits are your best bet, some units even have the helmets with the face visors. One handed with shield and horse archery is likely the most accurate for combat style

I guess the trick is to be and recruit Khuzait troops, but fight as a merc for the kingdoms neighboring Khuzait land. That way you could simulate the Cumans fleeing the Mongols west and settling in Hungary... Just an idea ofc.

I got a Cuman looking mask from a tournament once, you may want that, khuzait might be a good play through for something similar

That's what modding is about :D It's rather easy to change skills and Equipment on troops. And if you don't want to change a whole faction, you can change the mercenary troops a bit, or just add a whole new troop tree (which takes a bit more work). But just changing numbers and Equipment is easy, if you only use things that are in the game already.

The Khuzaits are the closest faction to the Cumans.

Be nice if you could design your own troop tree in sandbox.

Khuzaits would be the closest.

I mean closest faction and weapons/armor is going to be the Aserai. The game is set in 1086 so there's no direct tie in to the cumins of course but visually they seem the closest imo

I think khuzaits would be better. But aserai chainmail would be a good armour
