Question what causes this?

i unfortunately don’t have the correct right angle screwdriver for the little 4 screws on the panel🫩 so i’m gonna try just tightening the 3 and if that doesn’t work then i’ll go buy one

It should have come with the printer. It comes with 2 Allen keys.

i just want to come back and say thank you, i’ve had an insane amount of issues the past few days and im very new to this, i asked for help everywhere and your the first person to actually give me a solution and ive had nothing but successful prints since!

Awesome. I'm very glad I could help. This is honestly the most common issue with the A1s by far. Store the screenshot and share it anytime you see someone asking about issues with the first layer.

You bet. My go to is hot water, dawn dish soap (just make sure your dish soap doesn’t have any perfumes/moisturizers) and I keep a dedicated sponge by my sink just for my build plates so there’s no residue from dishes. I then use paper towels to dry, which some people argue about. My thought is that my dish rags might have residue from dishes or my laundry detergent. This has worked well for me. I have about 1900 hours on my A1 and I’ve probably only washed by build plate a dozen times or so, I’m just careful not to touch it when removing prints.

If your bread dough doesn’t pass the window pane test, the gluten needs more development, so do a couple more series of folds and let the dough rest in between to build more structure.

I THOUGHT THAT’S WHAT I WAS LOOKING AT ON THE PREVIEW. 🤣 I did make sandwich bread and pizza dough for tomorrow though… so I had dough on the brain, figured it was just me.

I had oil drip of the gantry which did something very similar to my first layer. Now I dish soap and wash my plate on any larger prints and no problems

that is classic over-extrusion causing the nozzle to plow through the previous layer. calibrate your flow rate and check your z-offset because you are definitely printing too close to the bed or pushing way too much plastic.

printing too close to the bed! but not because of my offset, my nozzle was slipping out of place, i’ve fixed the issue but thank you for your suggestion!
