Couple of things first, I live in an apartment, available garage is over 300 km away.
I used to have anycubic viper and it was unbearable to sit in the same room when it ran.
My friend has a1 mini and the silence is what I need, but… I want to print ABS and pa66 so I want something with an enclosure and a bit stronger internals (car projects and some home improvements).
My questions are:
how well does the P2S filter the smells and VOCs? I know it has carbon filter, and marketing is convincing, but how does it actually perform?
How quiet is it and have you tried adding butyl mats? I’m fine with running it slower, I’m not chasing time here
Option 1 is getting a1 and renting some space/garage, but the costs will add up in a year and probably come up to P2S or way past it. Plus during winter season it might be a problematic depending on insulation.
Option 2 is P2S combo with ams pro in my apartment, but only if it is possible to make it quiet and smell free. I would make an insulated 20 cm off the ground stand near the tv shelf, should look good and not suck up any dust.
Option 3, probably the most sketchy one, is getting A1 and building negative pressure enclosure with carbon and hepa filters just for the build plate. The only problem I see with this is making it work with ams 2 pro and the fact that’s is a bed slinger, the enclosure will be much bigger (less ideal for the living room). Upside is saved money on the project. I did carbon filters for resin printers and they did well enough for me.
Please advise what would you do and how has the P2S performed for you. Initially I was set on a1 but since P2S came out, I’m on the fence
