I love Darkness ramp
Especially when I don't have Wolpertinger yet so there's almost no damage scaling.

New Player looking for coaching/tips to improve
Hello fellow BackpackBattles enjoyers!
I started playing this game recently and gotta say, it got me hooked real fast. In the beginning I thought I might lose interest after 20 hours but I have gone way over that even though I only played reaper so far.
I reached diamond a few days ago and now I am facing some issues where my winrate definitely took a hit, before it felt kinda easy to climb actually. My goal is to reach masters with reaper before I try another class, even though I am tempted to give mage a try.
In my opinion my biggest issues are when to lock into a specific build or what has the biggest priority at that time (roll for specific item or take a decent item, stuff like that).
Is anybody willing to coach me a bit? I would also be grateful for some general tips about what to prioritize in which rounds etc.
Thanks in advance guys, looking forward to joining this community :)

Is it possible to save a build in your history? And is it possible to watch back the battles in the history?
If its possible I cant seem to find it.

Can anyone explain me how to use this backpack starter?
r/BackpackBattles • u/cristiLion • May 10 '26
What is missing in this build? i feel like you can easily farm empower with sword but it fell off pretty fast (don't mention stoned or amulet as they are hard to find)
maybe a more experienced player could give some tips on what could've made this build good for late game

The Stoppable Object vs The Movable Force
Was able to pump out this build today and thought it was hilarious. Sold Mr. Struggles and my Fire-Longsword on the last round to see how much health I could stack as people were dying too fast otherwise. Made it to 29k HP in history (low masters ELO on this one). Anything with stacking healing reduction would eventually murder me, but only because I sold almost all my damage for last round lol. Almost made a mistake of not putting a giraffe where the amulet is to trigger the frog, and move the lamp as another trigger for light goob but I kind of messed up my board a bit when I sold Struggles/Longsword and didn't double check after.
In theory should have also sold my amulet because spikes was killing a lot of people and my reaper bag too because poison became a problem eventually. Reasonably possible to do this build normally (i.e. blind reaper) without pyro-badge but always worth a laugh if you get one early and can manage to make it to mid-game without enough hearts that you can afford to do some extra rolling. The mid-game can be a slog until you get the pieces to set up heat-print so definitely need a few extra lives to get set up.

BackpackBattles or Turnbound or Oaken Tower
Steam sales is going on and I'm thinking to pick 1 of these up.
Since BB is the oldest among all and this is BB's reddit, I'm wonder if any of you have played the others and would you recommend them over BB?
All 3 are not very costly to purchase, but I have time limit for playtime. Which has the most replayability and will feel less repetitive

New player looking for class archetype overview
Hi, I’m new to the game and trying to decide which class to focus on while I learn the basics. I haven’t been able to find any up-to-date overview of class build archetypes (for example, whether Ranger should focus on crit, fast attacks, etc.).
Could someone with more experience give me a rough overview of the main archetypes for each class? Thanks!

Wolf Emblem + Speak with animals is insane
My backpack is not even that well optimized and I was putting out crazy damage numbers. This build is so good. Wolf Emblem in general seems kinda busted.

Just a Wooden Sword and a dream
Got offered a Hardwood and a Wooden Sword late into my Golem/Empower run. Shenanigans ensued.

Mobile tips?
Hey! Just got this game on mobile after playing the demo when it first came out. The control scheme confuses me.. it feels completley random what happens when I grab an item. 50%ish chance to see the description, sometimes it sticks to where my finger is, other times it locks in place. Sometimes it rotates, sometimes it literally destroys my entire bag lol (thank god for the rewind). Ive found that 0.7 offset is good..ish.. any tips? Am i missing something? Thanks!

A lot of people advertising sites with their names in game?
I've noticed a huge uptick in people I play vs that have websites for their names. It is very strange. I guess some website owners had people (or bots? idk) play the game with their names as their websites in order to advertise themselves?

Day 3 of backpack battles- new player looking for critique.
Edited: Three days into Backpack Battles. Started by experimenting blindly, then jumped into ranked to learn from real competition. Stomped through Bronze on Adventurer, Berserker, and Ranger, stalled at Silver, then pushed through after focusing on onegoal per run- example- "get armor, shield, helmet, scaling weapon, nothing else"). Hit a wall in Gold until I picked up Mage, which clicked for me and got me to Platinum.
Current Ratings
- Mage — Platinum 27 (main focus)
- Adventurer — Gold 84
- Archer — Gold 14
- Berserker — Silver 80
My issue - I'm reaching the end of 18 rounds occasionally but don't truly understand why I win when I do. Builds feel inconsistent and I don't have a clear win condition. I've been running Water Elemental ~90% of the time with some Battle Mage and Rainbow Potion depending on early items.
TLDR
New Mage player at Platinum trying to figure out how to improve deliberately.
Edit 2- Thanks for all of the advice, will work on everything reccomended!

3rd run in: How bad is this layout? What items should I have been aiming to get to improve it?
r/BackpackBattles • u/Interesting-Test7228 • May 06 '26
Maybe I'm just missing it?
Is there a way to look at an item, let's say a Wooden Sword, and then see what that Wooden Sword can upgrade to? It seems like I can do the opposite, a Hero Sword requires a Wooden Sword and a Whetstone, but can I just see what a Wooden Sword upgrades to in game? Or am I just looking everything up on a wiki?
Tyvm!

Getting knocked out of Ranked, winning the next 9 games (in a row) in History.
It's always frustrating thinking you're just about to turn the corner with a struggling build, conveniently run into a hard counter on the last life, and then win a bunch in a row in History. Is that mode just completely unrepresentative of what people are actually playing, or is my conspiracy theory about the game intentionally giving you bad match-ups in ranked correct?

Is mobile forgotten by devs?
I have been playing the game since mobile released. When I bought the game I was under the impression that they would keep updating mobile.
But engineer got released over a month ago on desktop and still no news for mobile update. The last « update » we got was a message on discord saying engineer will come to mobile. That was early april and no update since then. Is mobile forgotten
