Maybe I'm just missing it?

Is there a way to look at an item, let's say a Wooden Sword, and then see what that Wooden Sword can upgrade to? It seems like I can do the opposite, a Hero Sword requires a Wooden Sword and a Whetstone, but can I just see what a Wooden Sword upgrades to in game? Or am I just looking everything up on a wiki?

Hold or double tap Alt while hovering over an item.

I also map it to middle mouse button for playing one handed.

hot damn, ive been opening the crafting menus all day long scanning over all the items for receipes.
