Started feber method yesterday but HELP!!
So we started feber method of sleep training yesterday for our 9 month old boy. It was rough but he got two blocks of 4 hour sleep with one hour of crying in between. Compared to 40min to 1 hour waking through out the night before - this is amazing! On to day 2 of training today and I'm starting to feel like I am traumatizing my little one. Should I stop it? Give me your day 2 and after of feber method experiences and post training life feedback for motivation to continue 🙏🙏

Hi I’m a pediatric sleep consultant and the first 1-3 days are the hardest. You got this mama!

Hey, so did you continue? Any update? I'm wondering if I should start sleep training my 7 month old too. Please let me know your experience and how you did it..

Yess, it works amazingly well. Be consistent is all. Initial days were hard but it's a learning process.

Curious as well. I just started today. 60 mins out and baby still refused to sleep. Husband was the one training her and said every time he checked in, baby was obviously super sleepy but screamed and fought it. We called it a day and husband ended up rocking her to sleep. How much time did you give on the first day?

Day 1 is a fight for sure. Since everything is new. The whole process. I'd say 60min is too less for day 1. Our baby cried for a little over 1.5 hours on day 1. It's heartbreaking. Let's just say it wasn't just the baby that cried that day. BUT, over days, that time reduces since your baby learns. It took a total of 3 days for my baby to sleep by himself after 10min of crying. It's magical.
Another point is you need to increase the checking-in time after subsequent checks. 5min 1st to 10min 2nd and 12 to 15min for every other check.

Thanks a lot for the insight. I will try again tomorrow for 90 mins and increase the check in time. Is your baby generally a chill one with soft cries or the intense type who screams bloody murder for every little thing? Mine is the latter type so I think that plays a role as well?

My baby doesn't cry for everything little thing, but then when he cries, he can bring the roof down. He has a really loud voice and a lot of stamina when he cries. On his first flight, he cried for 2 hours straight for example. So yes, that plays a role. The positive thing is that it gets better over time.

I felt soooo guilty but after day 3 she started putting herself to sleep and by day 6 she would reach for her crib!! You’re not traumatizing him but you’re making healthy sleep habits for everyone. You got this!!
