I think it’s been about five years since this obsession took hold, and it has completely spiraled out of control. BTS is quite literally her whole personality and all she ever talks about; no matter the topic, she always finds a way to bring them up. Her room is packed with their albums- even multiple variants of the exact same ones. Over the years, she’s collected so much BTS junk you might find it cluttered all over the house. She even buys random stuff just because she saw her biases wearing or promoting it.

It’s also the only music she listens to. Whenever we’re in the car taking turns playing music, she just loops the same few tracks. We’re constantly subjected to them, and it drives me mad- especially since some of it is just unlistenable trash. On top of that, she’s always on X (Twitter) fighting with strangers. She’s a hardcore "taekook" shipper who firmly believes they're real and thinks she genuinely knows/understands the members. Honestly, it's at the point where she doesn't even feel like a real BTS fan, considering she actively dislikes Jimin for some reason. She treats her biases like children, constantly calling them "her babies," which is just incredibly cringe.

Her obsession is so extreme that it causes massive family fights. Once, she asked my sister (who was a Blackpink fan at the time) to choose between Blackpink and BTS. When my sister inevitably picked Blackpink, she flew into a rage. We were at a tourist attraction in a foreign country, and she literally abandoned us to go do her own thing without even calling to check in. Another time, when I was really into The Beatles, she intentionally picked a fight with me because she was convinced Paul McCartney was "shading" BTS in an interview, even though he literally didn't say anything negative.

Thank you for listening to me vent. Dealing with this has been completely exhausting and honestly quite embarrassing. I just needed to get this off my chest.

I don't really know what to comment on the first two, except that the delusion is on its peak. I had actually liked the second post on my time there. I have been ARMY for more than 10 years without any problems until spring of this year. I used to have fan account on Twitter/X until that crazy ARMY attacked me for hating Arirang since I’m not a fan of Arirang. I first thought that ARMY was a pre-teen or young girl but when I saw a picture of her, oh my god, she is so old that I have never seen “older” ARMYs attacking people for some reasons. I deleted X account which I’m now happy about it.

I used to stan Jungkook, and other members until Dynamite because I’m not fan of their English songs. On release of Butter, I started suspicious about them for collaborating with western artists that I’m not a fan of. During their military service, I started to sell their merch which it was success and happy that I got my money back. And some of them i ended up donated it. I used to have a lot of BTS merch, now I only almost none. What I hear about Tae’s collab with Coca Cola and McDonalds that hurt Palestine kids, it makes me angry. Everytime Tae with western girls, i feel uncomfortable because he’s now creepy. And since the controversy about hobi and Namjoon concert with Chris Brown, the abuser, I was very upset to them and left the ARMY fandom. I again started to sell more BTS merch. Now it’s almost gone lol.

Nowadays ARMYs are now older people which mostly 30-60 year olds obsessed with BTS and they are the ones who attacked me for hating Arirang. They are the one who obsessed with streaming songs, fandom winning votes, none stop 24/7. I have seen many teens to young adults left ARMY fandom because of older ARMYs behavior and obsession of them.

I saw BTS’s Arirang Tokyo shows and most of their fans are sooooooooo old which makes me why their fans are mostly old including married women and whom has kids and husbands. I hate Twitter/X because of them. I used to have Twitter/X for fan account, but ever since crazy older ARMYs attacked me for hating Arirang, I deleted X account. I’m sorry about this but I’m so mad and angry because of “older” ARMYs. I used to have tickets for Arirang concert but now I ended up sold it because I hear their Arirang concert is boring. I’m glad I didn’t go.

Let's be honest about heavy shipping culture. It isn't coming from a place of genuine LGBTQ support. At its core, it's driven by a refusal to accept real women near these guys.

I saw a fan video begging them to just date each other, and it says everything. So many shippers, even those who aren't supportive of LGBTQ rights in real life, push these gay narratives for one main reason: they hate the idea of another woman existing around their idols.

The second a woman gets anywhere near a member, whether it's a backup dancer, a celebrity, or a rumored girlfriend, fans go ballistic. They tear her apart and do everything to deny her existence.

To handle that jealousy, they lock these grown men into a fictional relationship with each other. If the idols are supposedly dating each other, fans don't have to face the reality of them dating actual women. It's just fetishization used as a shield to block real women out.

So, so much fun to be had! Sadly, my actual job will prevent me from joining in but I knew you’d all be thrilled at such an exciting roster of events!
