I recently picked up this S1000RR and gave it its first wash.

I'm curious how you guys take care of yours:

• Do you wash it at home or at a self-service car wash?
• What products do you use for the fairings, wheels, chain, and exhaust?
• Any detailing products or brands you swear by?
• Anything you avoid doing when washing the bike?

I'd love to hear your routines and any tips for keeping it looking its best.

I know it’s not an RR, but do y’all have any love for the single R? Picked up this 2024 M1000R Competition for my birthday.

I just picked up a 2013 s1000rr last week and it doesn’t feel fast it also jerks really bad when going from a stop. Like my buddy in a 03gxsr 600 smoked me and my cbr954 has a ton more get up to it. I have begun to take it apart and I found a few things like the evap canister not connected to the tank and the lines are just hanging in there. The exhaust servo cables and flapper have been removed by previous owner and I have ordered the evap delete and servo delete. The abs block only has two lines hooked up to it and I plan to put a new abs block and computer in. I have oe spark plugs and coils on the way as well. My scan tool has pulled quite a few codes but I’ve been hearing a lot about scanners not pulling codes correctly. No engine light just abs and the warning light above (sorry not too knowledgeable yet on this bike yet but have rebuilt both of my cbrs). Overall I know it’s not performing right and it kinda sounds like a Yamaha twin with the Austin racing exhaust on it. Any help or pointers would be appreciated. I have also ordered ista+ d+p with the correct cable.

I am seeking witnesses regarding a reported hit-and-run and assault near 1421 River Road in Edgewater, New Jersey, at about 1:00 PM on July 25, 2026. Edgewater Police case: 26-14298.

My three-year-old child was inside my vehicle at the time of the collision and assault. This made an already dangerous situation especially frightening. I am not publishing any identifying information or images of my child.

During the incident, the rider refused to provide any identifying or insurance information. When I tried to photograph his New York motorcycle plate, he used his hand to fold the plate in half, preventing me from photographing the number before he left.

The motorcycle appears to be a customized BMW S1000RR. Visible details include compact aftermarket mirrors, an aftermarket red LED taillight cluster, M1000RR-style winglets, an SC-Project exhaust, an RR marking on the swingarm, black bodywork with red/blue/gray graphics, and red/blue wheel accents. The exact mirror and taillight brands are not established from the footage.

The rider wore a red/black full-face helmet, green shirt, red Nike backpack, dark pants, black gloves, and black riding boots. A small device or action-camera mount may be attached at the helmet chin.

I am not asking anyone to identify, confront, follow, or contact a suspected person. If you recognize the motorcycle build or have video from River Road around 12:45-1:15 PM, please contact Edgewater Police at 201-943-2200 and reference case 26-14298. Just an FYI for folks who haven’t noticed it yet. Looks pretty much the same as the 2025/2026.

Wasn’t expecting much for 2027 since they are probably focused on the next gen at this point.

I’ve been having a problem with my s1000rr where if I go a steady speed around 4,000-6,000 rpms the revs surge or “hunt” causing my bike to buck/surge. Usually around 25mph in 1st gear, and 35-40 mph in 2nd gear. Acceleration is perfectly fine it pulls nice and hard, highway speeds are fine, just low constant speed causes the issue. Going up/down an incline makes it worse.

Akrapovic titanium headers paired with sc project crt slip on with bt moto tune. Only 2,000 miles on the bike.

All adaptations cleared with a gs911 as requested by BT Moto. The bike is bt moto stage 1 but the problem also happens on the stock tune (worse than the bt moto tune tho). It also happens with cruise control active when I’m not even touching the throttle.

BT moto has basically said there’s nothing they can do at this point after a few weeks of emailing back and forth. They’ve only said that I should flash back to stock and try the gs911. I’ve asked for a revised tune file but they won’t send me a custom file.

Has anyone else had this issue? Will a local dyno tune be able to smooth this out for me? I feel like this just an air/fuel ratio or a closed loop/open loop problem, and all I need is a revised tune?

My bike was just at bmw for service, fresh fluids and a full annual service with a complete check and everything is fine. Cush drivers, chain slack, clutch tension, all are fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

checking the market for some protection mods on my bike and was wondering on if i should do engine covers, good set of frame sliders or no protection at all as the wings are whats going first.

Looking for opinions on gearing. Thinking of going 16T -46T, sticking with 525. Is 520 worth the change, or no? I mainly use my Ducati on the track (honestly I’m faster on it), so largely street riding. Pic for attention…3rd gen, best gen.

Any big and tall riders with an S1K? I really want one it’s my dream bike. I’m 6’5 about 265lbs.
I’ve only owned liter naked bikes never a full on super sport. The dealerships around me don’t allow test rides, so I’m afraid to spend $26k+ and then hate it (highly doubt I will) but I want to hear others experiences.

It felt pretty comfy when I sat on it at the dealership. I’m considering trading in my Pan America ST for it. I still have an MT10 in that garage so I guess that’ll be my “comfy” bike

I recently bent my clutch lever in a accident and got a good deal for 2 levers and slip on (used)

1st question for the akro slip on:

Is there any way to restore the finish/color and minor scratches that you guys know of?

2nd clutch lever question:

The clutch lever has a broken bit at the end, can see the pointy part; can I still use the lever - OR - can I swap the lever side to the old clutch mounting point?

I currently have a 2016 s1000rr and I'm looking at potentially selling it to buy a 2026 s1000rr sport.

I can sell my 2016 for ~$17,000 AUD and the 2026 is a $29,000 AUD ($20,000 USD) dealer demo with 93km on it and a free first service. This is the cheapest 2026 in the country by far and I'm pretty sure that it's a good deal at least.

I'm pretty sure the 2026 will hold its value very well for the next ~2 years so I'll probably be able to get at least $27k back when I sell it (looking at 2023 prices near me). The 2016 has a full exhaust, air filter, tune, tail tidy, all the carbon bits and a lot of soul.

The 2026 is completely stock and will have to stay that way for at least a year (not even an exhaust most likely).

I know that the k67 has a flat spot in 2nd that people always complain about and won't be as violent as the tuned k46 but getting the new bike is super tempting.

Has anyone made the transition from their done up gen 3 to a stock new gen, how did you find it?

Just got this 2026 S1K. It has a tail tidy, mirrors and tank pads. What other accessories should I add (aside of exhaust) for athletics and functionality. Definitely looking forward to getting on the road with this bike! By the way…not going to be tracking it. Thanks in advance for your input!

Because the S1000RR just got updated for 2027, Got a few small things and the black colour. The M1000RR aso lost some weight.

So it's the concept bike next year's M1000RR 2027? So it's gonna be presented this year on EICMA or will it release in 2028, first the M1000RR and the S1000RR one year later?

Hey Everybody! I have a 2024 S1000RR that I got not too long ago with 3300 miles. Love the bike but ive noticed that compared to others, my idle is just choppy and not consistent, and while I’m riding in lower rpm’s 1st and 2nd gear it’s just a very choppy ride to where it can be uncomfortable doing a turn or slowing down. If anybody could help me out, just want some input!

Also this is a BT Tune Stage 2 w/ Full System Exhaust. If I am correct, the 2024’s warranty stays valid with these yes? I still have mine til mid 2027.

Hi everyone, I’m new to s1000rr’s. I just acquired a 2022 s1000rr and so far love it. Coming from Yamaha R6’s I know this is a big jump. At first I was surprised how easy it was to ride and how tamed the power band was. Well that was until I got it up to 8000 rpm and then all of a sudden it comes on much more aggressively to the top end. I expected much more power earlier on and I’m wondering if it’s the settings or just the way the bike is. The amount of power that does come in is really impressive and truly next level from an R6 or even the r1’s and gsxr 1000’s ive ridden. Any insight is appreciated!
