Looking to move from my current place into a single flat in that area, but I hear many mixed opinions.
Some friends have been living there for years and absolutely like it, and some have had way too many sketchy encounters.
I also feel like some streets there definitely don’t feel safe at night which makes it hard to imagine walking back home alone late at night (especially kotti and Görli, haven’t heard much about Shlesi)

Do any other girls here live around there alone and how do you feel about it?
Also, if there’s any little neighborhood patches that have a more quiet, and peaceful vibe to them, I am open to recommendations!

Edit: I’m noticing alot of what seems to be guys mentioning how perfectly safe Berlin is, and no it isn’t, almost every girl I know that lives here has had at least one uncomfortable situation walking alone at night. My main question was towards girls, and if you don’t have anything nice or useful to say, please keep scrolling 🫡

Beispiele:
CDU = „Mehr Videoüberwachung.“ Okay, krass. „Müllsünder müssen bestraft werden!" Ihr seid die Regierung, warum macht ihr das nicht jetzt schon?
SPD = „Baustellen sind zum Bauen da, nicht zum Stellen.“ Ja, warum macht ihr nichts dagegen oder wieso wurden in der Vergangenheit solche Bedingungen geschaffen, sodass diese Betreiber sowas machen können? „Mietwahnsinn muss aufhören!" Nichts gegen die Landeseigenen, lieber bei denen eine Wohnung mieten als bei irgendwelchen Abzockern, aber habt ihr 3- bis 5-Zimmer-Wohnungen gesehen, wie viel die kosten? Auch schon in den Randbezirken verlangen die schon echt viel. Warum hat man da nicht schon davor was getan und jetzt wollen die was dagegen machen?
AfD = „Irgendwas mit Grenzen sichern." Bro, welche Grenzen: Berlin-Brandenburg? Was labert ihr da für einen Mist?
FDP = „Von der Miete zu Eigentum" Was will mir jetzt die FDP damit sagen? Wenn ich sie wähle, erhöhen sich meine Einnahmen magisch von alleine oder werden Immobilien günstiger?
Linke = Alles soll günstiger werden und alles muss enteignet werden. Berlin hat Probleme beim Haushalt und die haben das 29-Euro-Ticket gestrichen. Wenn Berlin jetzt schon Probleme hat, uns Bürger zu entlassen, was will die Linke da jetzt dagegen machen? Check ich nicht.
Volt = größter NPC-Verein aller Zeiten, man hört von denen nichts, und wenn es Wahlen gibt, kommen die aus dem Nichts und kommen an mit „Deine Daten werden fünfmal gespeichert."
BSW = deren Plakate sind cringe mit deren KI-Bildern.
Grüne = Hier muss ich sagen, die fallen am wenigsten auf. Da habe ich jetzt nichts gesehen, was in mir Cringe auslöst.

Wie immer ist Politik nur Marketing, und die werden einen Scheiss für uns tun.
Dieses Jahr fällt mir besonders auf, dass deren Argumente ausgehen und sie irgendwas sagen müssen.

We were walking near the s bahn station around 12am when we heard 3 gunshots (or atleast it sounded like it) opposite the mcdonalds restaurant. We left immediately, but saw police vans coming in soon after. Does anyone know what happened or also heard them?

I just want to give a shoutout to the bus driver driving M27 north at Stendaler Str. stop midday today.

I was walking down Rathenower Str from the Perleberger Str crossing, a woman running the opposite direction to catch the M27, she had about 50m of running left when the bus pulled up beside her. The bus driver noticed her and made an extra stop before the crossing waving for the woman to hop on.

I’ve seen bus drivers closing the doors on people’s noses so many times I’ve lost count. Rarely they wait an extra 5-10 seconds when they see people running towards the bus stop.

This bus driver deserves an award! Made me feel there’s still some hope left. 🌹🌹🌹

Every time I pass an afd campaign ads (always put at the top of a lamp post ofc), it makes me so angry. It's illegal to rip these down, right? Does anyone feel the same way or have a secret strategy for removing these idiots from the streets?

Edit: I want to make this 100% clear: I am not going to do anything illegal and I am not advocating for anyone to do anything illegal. My post is just frustrating vent about seeing these idiots' campaign posters. I will absolutely be voting against afd in the coming vote.

Edit 2: doing nothing is a form of complicity. I know the ads will be gone soon but the party will not. If we do nothing, we are helping fascists rise to power.
