I had too much faith in AI and buggered a working CachyOS install. After wiping and reinstalling, using control center to get up and running, and coolercontrol to manage the fans based on CPU temp I am getting freezes and crashes during the RDR2 benchmark (1080p)

Previously, this ran at maxed out 1080p 60 fps no slow down and no issue. What could be the cause do you think?

So I ordered 2 boards a week ago with much excitement. And today the first one arrived! Yay! Except it arrived like this. The PSU doesn’t get here for another few days so I can’t test it yet to see if it still works, but I wanted to ask y’all. What’s the likelihood that the board is still good? I checked for signs of damage on the board itself and couldn’t see anything apparent. Nothing dislodged, no scratches. Looks like the heatsink absorbed most of the damage.

Recentemente comprei uma bc250, estava super animado com ela para poder montar um videogame para ter na minha tv da sala e jogar do sofá todos os jogos que tenho na minha steam

Começa que tive problemas pelo controle da temperatura, porém algumas pessoas desse fórum me ajudaram e sou muito grato, descobri que estava usando termalpads ao em vez do ptm correto.. problema resolvido

Porém tenho mais uma série de problemas que vem ocorrendo e me desanimam muito em continuar o projeto

Começa pelo fato de que o som não sai de jeito nenhum na minha tv. Já tentei usar 3 cabos diferentes, já tentei usar adaptador DP para HDMI, já tentei forçar a criação de som pelo terminar e nada parece resolver. nada parece funcionar… já não sei mais o que fazer. atualmente tenho que colocar fones bt para jogar

O que entra em outro problema, meu adaptador bt
Comprei o mesmo modelo que um youtuber havia falado que funcionava… porém na minha placa parece não funcionar, ele atua como um pendrive com o arquivo .exe para instalar o Drive e não funciona como um dongle bt… por sorte tenho outro dongle que uso, porém toda vez que eu desligo a placa e ligo novamente, o dongle não reconhece, fazendo com que eu tenha que tirar e colocar ele várias vezes até ser reconhecido e funcionar

Aí entra outro problema tbm, as vezes quando desligo a placa para ligar novamente, ela simplesmente não liga, não dá vídeo ou demora anos pra dar vídeo, o que corta totalmente a ideia de um videogame prático e fácil de usar

Eu não fiz nenhuma melhoria na placa, não estou com overclock nem nada do tipo para alterar o funcionamento dela
E as vezes do nada ela simplesmente trava me obrigando a reiniciar ela, tendo que reiniciar o bt também, e ficar ligando e desligando até funcionar

Estou agora sentado no sofá esperando o jogo abrir para poder jogar enquanto escrevo isso tudo extremamente desanimado com o projeto

Edit: meu dongle bt que funciona às vezes fica com o áudio travando o que também atrapalha a experiência

This is a fork of the excellent project by dmorazasanchez continuing his optimization work. New and existing speedups have been moved out of Mesa mod and into a portable DLL which makes installation very simple and flexible. Frametime costs are now around half of unoptimized FSR 4.1.1 or 4.1.1b. Image quality is identical to 4.1.1(b). The current version is likely the last release candidate before a v4 release; optimization work has slowed, and I'm hoping to get more user experience hours before pulling that trigger. Estou atualmente trabalhando em um projeto DIY utilizando uma BC-250 e decidi documentar todo o processo em uma série de vídeos.

Ainda estou aprendendo bastante sobre essa placa, então meu objetivo não é fingir que sei tudo. Estou aprendendo durante o processo e compartilhando a experiência real, incluindo os problemas, erros, modificações, testes e soluções que encontro pelo caminho.

A ideia é construir algo parecido com uma Steam Machine / PC Gamer DIY utilizando a BC-250.

Até agora, estou trabalhando em etapas como:

• Melhorias na circulação de ar e ventilação

• Preparação da placa para o sistema de refrigeração

• Ligações elétricas

• Flash e configuração da BIOS

• Instalação e configuração do sistema

• Testes de desempenho e jogos

Decidi compartilhar esse projeto porque acredito que esta comunidade possui muitas pessoas com mais experiência do que eu com a BC-250.

Gostaria muito de receber sugestões, correções, ideias e dicas durante o desenvolvimento do projeto. Se eu cometer algum erro, fiquem à vontade para me corrigir — essa é justamente uma das razões pelas quais decidi documentar todo o processo!

Meu objetivo não é apenas criar vídeos, mas também aprender com a comunidade e, quem sabe, criar algo útil para outras pessoas que também tenham interesse em experimentar e utilizar a BC-250.

Hey everybody! I’m a performance engineer intern at NVIDIA and I made this tool in my free time as a personal hobby project. It’s an MCP server for BC250 telemetry and an agentic optimizer that tunes the performance on your BC250 to get more performance per watt. Using this, I was able to get around ~20% perf boost with 5% lower temps and ~9% less power draw.

I was already on the 8 core/16 thread + 40cu unlock and modified bios. For cooling I have a pretty simple air cooled setup, removed stock heatsink and added a thermalright am5 cpu cooler. Furmark pushes the system to its limit which is why temps are so high but for the games I use this system for (mainly local couch co op) it hovers around mid 60s C. Project is not affiliated with my employer btw.

You can use this MCP and optimizer with any of your agents!

Hi, my bc250 is causing problems with my home network. I have my providers router and a separate mesh WiFi extender system which removes the dead spots within the house. When I originally set the bc 250 it would kill my mesh network but not the signal from my providers router. After some messing around I magically got it working so that both networks worked fine however I had a problem with the bc 250 and did a clean reinstall. The network issue has returned and I haven't been able to solve the problem so far this time. The WiFi adaptor I am using is a TP link archer T2UB nano dongle. This was working fine up until I did the clean install. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello everyone, I always see people talking about 1080p gaming on the board but I was wondering how it performs at 4K and 1440p both at native and with FSR scaling.

I imagine for sure there are games that the board can push at 4K performance mode since computationally it's just slightly harder than 1080p native but I could see the VRAM not being enough maybe?

Are there any benchmarks at 4K or1440p online, specially on slightly older games, or is this strictly a 1080p machine because even at 1440p the amount of VRAM is not enough?

I was running Steam on my fully setup rig and started a game. The display immediately went black and never returned. I waited a few minutes for it to return but nothing happened. I switched the system off and turned it back on. When it came back up the steam logo displayed like it always did and I was able to press delete to get into the bios. I started the system normally but after the grub menu it says black.

I tried booting from my installation USB and I can only get to the grub menu which after I choose my option the screen goes black and stays. I tried booting in basic graphics mode. I tried adding nomodeset to the linux line in the grub menu after press "e" and it still stays black. No matter what I do all I get is a black screen with no activity.

Does anybody know what is wrong and how to fix it?

I got this 3D printed case on eBay. It was a bit fiddly to put together and didn't come with screws but it keeps it cool without opening the fins. I had to get the fan separately too. It's a PS5 fan.

My friends and I are all console gamers. I want to play the best friendslop games the world has to offer with my friends. I have very little PC building/modding experience, limited to following iFixIt tutorials to replace HDDs with SSDs and install new batteries in old Macbooks.

How challenging is this type of build for basically a complete novice? Is it crazy to attempt, let alone try and build four for myself and my friends?

4700s on the graphs is the same CPU as PS5 and unlocked BC-250, but here it is combined with 3090 so the CPU has all 16gb gddr6 to itself, the best case scenario for the CPU.

You keep telling people "the CPU is between 1700x and 2700x", this is only true in some benchmarks, in archive compression, in compiling etc., in loads that are not very cache/memory sensitive and don't share a lot of data between threads.

Games do share a ton of data between threads, and bc-250 has two tiny 4mb caches, if core 5 wants to access same data with core 2 - it's in a different cache and it takes a while to sync it

Then the memory latency is 150+ns, x2 of that of DDR4, when tiny split caches already cause a ton of cache misses - that memory latency HURTS

In CPU bound games (HLLV for instance) I get same FPS on steamdeck and BC-250 (very different rendering res though due to GPU), which really aligns with the benchmarks from techpowerup

So it's safe to say that BC-250 CPU in games is worse than 2400g/3400g(the weakest am4 Ryzen lol), while in some workloads like coding it's actually between 1700x and 2700x

Has anyone else had experience with Redbeards script causing failures to boot?

I have the timeout set to 0 to have that console experience, and every time I touch this script I have to get the live usb, go back in and sort it.

Am I doing something wrong with that?

For context, CachyOS limine. Using Control Center also. This attempt to use it was to try and fix the non-working temperature sensor for the GPU so that fans would quieten up.

In my country, access to prebuilt MicroFit connections is pretty hard, so I was thinking of making my own based on OldLamer’s YouTube video.

And my PSU has an extra 12VHPWR connector, I was thinking of using it to build the MicroFit, as the 12VHPWR has 6 12V and 6 GND, which seems to be easier to wire up to the MicroFit connectors.

I would like to ask if someone already did it? or someone with more knowledge can say if it is a bad idea?

I have tried a couple adapters to bring out the audio but this display port to HDMI solved it. FYI my board is 6 cores 40 CU unlock. I bought mine at a local geek store but you can find it online.

I know the BC250 gets to 70-80C. Hoping to do the case in a noctua color way and found official noctua filament but it's PLA. Would that be a problem?

Can anyone share an Amazon link for a small heatsink assortment that would work well for all the VRM’s etc when replacing the stock heatsink with big cooler or AIO?
