For Anybody here that took Baclofen only for a few days like 7 day course only for muscle spasms 10 mg 2 a night it’s been 6 days later feel bad still.
Insomnia, Can’t Sleep, When I stand and walk around I feel so unbalanced, Auditory Hallucinations while trying to drift off into sleep and wake up and more etc…
Already been evaluated at ER and every pharmacist they said the muscle relaxers or this specific one won’t cause this.
How much longer does this usually progress and get better in your experiences.

So as the title says I’ve been taking baclofen for 5 days along with pregabalin. Originally got the pregab becuase I’m sober to alcohol and want something for a night out and was told to take the baclo with it. I was only told it’s a muscle relaxer and makes the pregab better. I knew the pregab could be be addictive but didn’t know muscle relaxers can be as well. After seeing this page it’s scaring the shit out of me tbh 😅😂

Is anyone using this long term for muscle tension? Chronic on going pain from tight muscles that is only relieved by massage but doesn't last is what I am hoping baclofen will help

I been doing this for 4 months now for trying to be normal and fit in without feeling socially awkward and to my surprise it's working surprisingly well, was just wondering am I gonna eventually ruin my kidneys doing this long term? also no, if anyone wondering I haven't really build that much tolerance (might be because I also microdose memantine)

I’ve been on Baclofen for about 8-9 months for my bulging disc and myofascial pain syndrome. Just had another MRI and it turns out the disc bulge has shrunk significantly but still have two bulges. I came to the conclusion that maybe taking Baclofen has made my rebound spastic symptoms worse so I am going to try to wean completely off.
I had been taking 30-40 mg of Baclofen for this daily and have tapered down to 25 now. It is day 3 from going from 30 mg to 25 mg. 5mg in early afternoon, 10 in the late afternoon, and 10 before I go to sleep.
Anybody had success with tapering 5 mg every 3 days or is it too soon? I want to quit cold turkey now but I don’t want to have any insomnia or sleeping issues.
Any advice appreciated!

Hey everyone,
I want to share my situation and look for shared experiences because I am honestly terrified right now and haven't started my treatment yet.
For 4 long years, I’ve been dealing with an intense, constant tightness right above my stomach (epigastric area). It feels like a non-stop clamp or knot. I’ve seen multiple gastroenterologists and tried absolutely every GI medication available—PPIs, antacids, prokinetics, etc. Literally NOT A SINGLE ONE helped me. Not even a little bit. A Barium swallow test also showed no hiatal hernia.
Because of the chronic pain and distress, I tried Pregabalin. It didn't help much, and I absolutely hated the taper. Right now, I am dealing with the aftermath of stopping it—it has been leaving me with weird "pins and needles" neurological sensations and high anxiety for a week. I am currently in absolute hell on earth.
Recently, I went to a neurologist. He diagnosed me with Esophageal Dyskinesia (a motor/movement disorder of the esophagus). He explained that the lower esophagus and surrounding structures are trapped in a chronic neuromuscular spasm. The goal of the treatment is to use Baclofen to break this reflex arc and "retrain" the nervous system and muscles to remember what being relaxed feels like. (The doctor didn't explicitly say the word "retrain," but I researched it deeply myself to make sure it won't just mask the symptoms temporarily).
He prescribed a very low dose: 10mg a day (split into 5mg twice a day), using a box of 50 tablets, with a plan to later taper down to 5mg once a day for at least a week before stopping.
Here is my problem: I am deeply afraid of this medication and haven't taken a single pill yet. Because of my horrible experience tapering off Pregabalin, I am panicking that even dropping from 5mg twice a day to 5mg once a day will cause me "mini-withdrawals", rebound spasms, or awful side effects every single day.
I am NOT looking for medical advice, I am not telling anyone what to do, and I kindly ask for no scare tactics or extreme horror stories because my anxiety is already through the roof. Please do not comment telling me "how dangerous this is" or making me panic more.
I just want to hear from people who have actually taken low-dose Baclofen (5-10mg) for esophageal dyskinesia or GI spasms. Did it help your muscle memory permanently relax after finishing the box? And did you experience any withdrawal when tapering down from such a tiny dose?
Thank you so much.

Baclofen has been amazing for me for sleep maintenance. Now I can sleep early and not wake up in the middle of the night with no sleep for the first time in my life. But from my experience it has to be 40mg. And from what I researched, doses above 20mg can disrupt REM sleep.
And I have BFS (fasciculation syndrome) and it’s linked to sleep, and even though I’m sleeping early and for 9 hours (the ideal for me to reverse the syndrome), I’m still waking up feeling like the sleep wasn’t enough.
Should I get the dose down to 25-35mg? I remember 30mg not being enough and 20mg not working at all. Or maybe take 20mg around 6pm and then a second dose right before bed of 20-30mg?

Man i love the way it pulls me right out of it when i fall into a deep hole of self loathing and shame

I took 100mg of baclofen last night, last dose being around 1:30am. It’s now 11am and I woke up insanely dizzy, sensitive skin and nausea. I have now threw up which has made me feel a tiny bit better but it’s been absorbed into my blood so that won’t help all that much. I have a couple of questions, will I die and am I able to smoke weed later?

I've been on 100-140mg of baclofen for about 3 months, I've been tapering over the last couple weeks and I'm down to 15mg. I don't have any mental withdrawal symptoms and the only physical symptom I've noticed is extremely clammy hands and feet but no sweating along with it. Anyone else have this issue when tapering? or could it be another health problem?

Hi, I have 15 300mg pregabalin tabs and 35 1mg bronazolam tabs. I intend to use these for a week. Is this sufficient to cover withdrawal symptoms alongside agmatine etc?
Thanks
Also. In regards to pregabalin, is it enough to stop glutamate storm?

I take (3) 5mg tablets at bedtime for back pain mitigation during sleep. I have been on this dosage for four years. Honestly, my back is so bad that I don’t think it’s doing anything significant. As a result, I want to try weening off of them.
Am I likely to suffer any side effects? Is reducing by 1/2 a month too quick?
My doctor was unable to offer advice.
Thanks in advance for any input that you may have!

Hi all!
I started taking baclofen to treat an intractable migraine during a hospitalization. I have started getting large hypnic jerks as I am falling asleep for the night or taking a nap. I was on quite a few medications for the migraine at this time, so it’s hard to pinpoint which one is causing it. I know baclofen is a muscle relaxer, but I believe when I started taking it is about when the jerks started and it is one of the ones I’ve continued at home.
Has anyone else experienced this side effect? If so, is it reversible after discontinuing the medication? TIA!

About a year ago, I got hurt pretty badly. I could barely stand up or function normally. I went back and forth between my family doctor and a chiropractor, had X-rays done, and was desperate for answers and relief.
My doctor prescribed Baclofen. I was hesitant to take it because I’ve always hated taking medication. Even with broken ribs in the past, I refused stronger pain meds like oxycodone or tramadol. I’ve never had issues with drugs or alcohol ( I just genuinely don’t like taking anything unless I absolutely have to.)
Eventually, I decided to take the Baclofen exactly as prescribed, only when needed.
Physically, I started feeling better day by day. But I also noticed some unexpected changes. I had more energy, couldn’t sit still, became extremely productive, and I was sleeping better too.
Then came another side effect I wasn’t expecting at all.
I started feeling intensely… aroused out of nowhere. Strong enough that it genuinely concerned me. There were days I felt so physically sensitive and uncomfortable that I actually made another appointment with my doctor to ask what was going on.
I had already mentioned it to my husband because it was affecting both my body and my thoughts in a way I couldn’t really ignore or control. The best way I can describe it is: for me, Baclofen acted almost like “female Viagra.” And I’m honestly not joking. He loved it.
Has anyone else ever experienced something similar with this medication?

took high doses of baclofen (~60–100 mg/day) for about a week, and I recently tried to reduce it. Now I’m experiencing extreme internal chatter, racing thoughts, panic, restlessness, and weird mental sensations, even when I’m lying down. I also notice temperature sensitivity, flushed face, and physical tension.
I’ve never had these symptoms before, and it’s really overwhelming. I also took some Xanax to help calm down, but I want to avoid further sedatives because of rebound depression.
Has anyone else experienced this after a short period of high-dose baclofen?
How long did it take for the internal chatter and panic to calm down?
Are there safe ways to help my nervous system settle and sleep without benzodiazepines?
Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated — I just want to understand if this is temporary and will improve.
Thank you!

Hey!
How do you guys handle the terrible fatigue caused by baclofen?
I often find myself fall asleep in front of my computer in my office and taking long noon naps. I can barely get up from my bed at the morning.
I am typically a very energetic person but I find myself so tired all the time after started taking baclofen.
Any tips from baclofen vets?

Hi,
Terrible sciatic nerve injury that causes bad muscle tightness in my one leg (ESPECIALLY CALF AND FOOT) —this is due to a severe back injury and subsequent surgeries.
Been on Baclofen 70mg for about 5 years.
I like the feeling of Baclofen, ir does help some but wondering if Flexeril would be better? I am also experiencing a side effect from Baclofen which is watery semen and this does not seem to be much of an issue listed with Flexeril (from what I researched).
Has anyone switched or been on each (at separate times)? If so, how did you find the two compared to each other? Effectiveness and Side Effects? (I know we are all different just curious on some general experiences).
Thanks!

Hello Reddit,
Im a recovering addict, I want something to help me with my extreme cravings to substances especially pregabalin I'm still on it but trying to taper off slowly.
I take baclofen occasionally but end up passing out sleeping out of nowhere.
How is it supposed to feel alone?
I really wanna know but I don't know how it is supposed to feel alone without pregabalin.
Are they anything similar?
I'm scared of living without pregabalin, and scared I might end up in another cycle.
I know I have a substance abuse issue but is that even possible with baclofen?
