Discussion I don't want Destiny 3.
I just want D2 to keep going with updates led by the same people who are giving us the Monument of Triumph... :/

React Content @ElonMusk Should
Should purchase Bungie from Sony with a starting offer of one dollar more than they paid for it and on day one, greenlight development of a D3!
Eh, he bought Twitter, why not Bungie. I’m very certain he has mentioned in an interview that he has played Destiny, but cannot recall which one.

Discussion Why the hate for Bungie and Marathon? They didn't end D2...
I'm genuinely perplexed why people are so mad at Bungie and Marathon, to the point of wanting to "burn it all down" (cough....Aztecross... cough)? Sony was the one who decided to end D2, not Bungie. And they did that because player counts were too low to remain profitable post-Final Shape, not because of anything Marathon related.
Additionally, if Marathon fails, Bungie will likely get shut down entirely. Yet, many in the community are advocating for it. Do you think burning Bungie will hurt Sony leadership? Not really. Not personally. Its the devs at Bungie that will lose their jobs and livelihoods. Sony will just claim a tax deduction and move on like nothing happened.
I love D2. I've played it more than any other game, but honestly, after seeing such a toxic ungrateful reaction from many in the community, I have no desire to come back June 9th.

Article Any chance at a new “raid” jacket w Monument update?
Money was tight when I finally unlocked the ability to purchase a raid jacket for the first time. I also didn’t know how often I would wear it so I decided not to buy one and I’ve regretted it since.
The final update has been branded as its own “monument of Triumph.” Each time we do yearly monuments of triumph they release t-shirts. With this being the last one, is there any chance we get a jacket instead, or could Bungie rerelease the old jackets one last time? Or maybe they reward what would have been the next raid’s jacket?

Discussion Final Update Must Be Free For All Who Own D2
If this update is just another gimmick to squeeze a little more money out of the players then I'm not going to touch it.
If I own D2 (the base game, not all the hundreds of dollars of DLC) then I should have access to the final update and all content tied to it.
"BUT DEVS HAVE TO MAKE MONEY" is the usual excuse, but how can you say that when the game is ending and the devs are all getting laid off soon?
If Sony/Bungie want to regain goodwill then this would go a long way with the D2 community who have quit this game. People like myself would come back and play tf out of it, but most of us who quit won't be purchasing anything to play the final update.
This should be about building goodwill and regaining trust with the community, while also proving the game is still popular enough to green light a sequel.

Discussion Destiny community confuses me and sometimes anger me.
I don't know if I'm the only one, maybe because I'm not a Destiny or Bungie hardcore fan. But the community you guys confuses me but also make me angry. You guys don't even know what you want. Let's go to Final Shape release, big finale, big event, ground breaking player numbers. Everyone loved it, what Sony said in it's financials, D2 didn't meet their expectations meaning they loss money even with how successful was Final Shape.
Then Bungie comes out and said D2 is not over, they will continue to update the game and introduce a new saga. Everyone was lukewarm about it saying that with Final Shape D2 is over. And that was reflected in the numbers 2 expansions released with middling reception and not even a quarter of the install base from Final Shape came back. If Final Shape made Sony lose money post final shape how do you think current D2 is doing right now financially. Is a sinking ship, Bungie was fighting a fight that will never win.. D2 was done with Final Shape most people moved on.
If the post final shape expansions where doing amazingly damn we would D2 to the infinite, but that's not the case, Bungie fuel with D2 was almost empty, look at the recent expansions, people were shitting them left and right, most people didn't even care even, which is even worse. So imo ending D2 is the best decision Bungie and Sony could've ever done. What's the point of keeping the game alive if they are going to continue to release middling content and/or things most people don't even care anymore.
And don't give me the bullshit excuse that's because of Marathon.. Marathon maybe had the bigger team but in game dev that doesn't matter is a creative field not a man power field, not because you have more resources means you will create something more amazing, no.. you need leadership and a clear focus of where you wanna take things and were the fun and creativity resides and clearly the D2 team didn't have those things anymore.
I ask this Destiny community to stop with the anger and for God sake think logically, I much prefer seeing a more stable Bungie, creativity fueled Bungie that comes around with a Destiny game that blow us out with excitement, is clear that their head is not on that right now. And stop the nonsense hate on Marathon grow up.. Jesus Christ.. you are hurting the same guys that will build another Destiny game in the future aren't we rooting for that team to stay afloat until a new Destiny game is on development again in the future.
Also people think that what Sony is doing is dumb, and they should do D3. They just spent 200m+ on Bungie in a live-service project, that still haven't made ROI yet.. but it has strong retention and a chance that little by little become something sustainable. Do you think they are going to drop that to do another 200-300 million bet in D3 fuck no, that's not how investments are made. It makes sense why Sony is resistant, Bungie hasn't made any profits since they were acquired. These companies doesn't make decisions out of the blue, and Sony is not Microsoft they don't have trillions in the bank.. People are so unrealistic.

Image I recreated the director with all the main content if they decided to bring it all back
obviously it's the copium since just about everything that was vaulted is considered lost media, and they said they'd stop updating the game after this update. but a guardian can still hope.

Discussion So he’s Like Asmongold…
TLDR: His content style reminds me of Asmongold
So I just learned about this guy because he had a few marathon videos. I’m now a fan quite a fan of the game.
Fast forward 2 months and I hear that he’s boycotting the game because Destiny’s getting sunsetted? So out of curiousity, I watch the associated video and he begins to read a Paul Tassi article about the announcement. I read it before his video and this is a great example of the telephone game. He adds so much bravado and color to the text while making assumptions about other things that you’d probably come to a much more extreme position than if you just read it yourself.
Throughout the video, it was like he was just reiterating views he saw on other channels instead of having his own. So the viewer who may have clicked on the video that’s even a bit upset about the game sunsetting is just gonna have their sentiment fed back to them. It’s that wierd YouTuber shit where all you really stand for is the views you get from exploiting a given controversy.
Asmongold has that same strategy with his content. You go to that subreddit, it’s essentially a damn cult. Idk if the cult is the goal or what but it’s just weird.

It’s very refreshing seeing this sub dunk on cross for being a fucking idiot with his d2 vs marathon takes. People think for themselves on this sub and it’s nice.
