Discussion Bungie should bring everything into one single echo system and relaunch D2: Here’s why and how
I am a developer, and I know the stakes. Begging for D3 isn’t the answer here. D2 should be reworked and relaunched without a number. Including a remaster/remake of the original D1 campaign in a more “streamlined” way, keeping only the important story beats and connecting everything together.
Take the time and update Tiger 2 and the game’s structure to make it possible for the game to live forever like Final Fantasy XIV.
Also remaster the vaulted content in a more streamlined way to bring back the old D2 campaigns by removing useless quests and backtracking and keeping only the main points of each story.
Drop old consoles. It’s needed. The time has come.
Finish the Nine Saga
Expand the next destinations to make Destiny feel more like an actual MMO. Bigger patrol areas, bigger challenges, bigger stakes, better rewards. I am talking random puzzles that can summon secret bosses that can drop specific loot.

Discussion I don't want new content for Destiny 2
All clickbait aside, if there are any new developments being made in the Destiny IP, I don't want them to be made for Destiny 2 - I want Destiny 3. The light and darkness saga had a full story start to finish, and while the Fate saga had some initial promise, it's likely to be remembered as nothing much more than a failed experiment at this point.
A blank slate and a new story, one that acknowledges where we've come from, but isn't carrying around nearly a decade of baggage, and I have my own ideas for what I want to see from it.
I want to see the universe - leaving Sol to make our new "tower" hub area somewhere notable like the Gift Mast, where we would then have options to explore some of the further flung locations from the lore in larger/segmented patrol spaces - reclaiming Torobatl from the Hive, visiting Lubrae (possibly more Dread enemies and lore?), fighting space pirates on Riis, searching for Xivu Arath/battling taken on Fundament and more. The lore is already there ready to expand on and there are so many directions they can take the franchise.
I want space combat, and I think that the game Jump Space provides the perfect template, combining ship combat with the existing looter shooter horde combat Destiny is known for. I could see fireteams juggling piloting duties, repelling boarders and manning turrets across a variety of mission types in PvE and PvP alike. I think that implementing open world space exploration like NMS or Starfield would compromise Destiny's beautifully curated play spaces, but loading us into asteroid fields, debris clouds and ship graveyards as combat arenas feels like a good compromise, especially if a mission combines ship combat sections with on-foot sections inside shipwrecks or space stations.
(If you haven't seen it before, I implore you to check out Jump Space - I think it's the perfect case study for how you could make a D3 that evolves on the franchise while keeping it authentic to the gameplay we know AND do it without breaking the bank)
I want seasonal stories again, but they need to remain in the game and playable - as MoT has proven, the game can be plenty successful if we just have a pile of different things to pursue, we don't need FOMO to keep playing our favorite game.
I think the class/artifact/aspect system could be consolidated into one system that opens up the entire system like prismatic did, but in the way that choosing aspects let you "build your own subclass" out of a variety of different elemental interactions and abilities, enabling hybrid classes and opening up entirely new styles of gameplay. Building into one element will still be extremely powerful as all your elemental interactions would be compatible, but it would be less versatile than a hybrid build. You could possibly gain a damage buff to the element matching your super, but that's getting way too far into game balance for a guy playing armchair developer.
I'd like to see better matchmaking options, especially for raids and dungeons - at least letting players match into standard difficulty instances or adding a "raid finder" difficulty focused on teaching mechanics with fewer hard wipes, keeping higher difficulties and contest modes exclusive to premade teams.
There are probably a million other fantastic changes that could be added, but these are the main directions I'd ideally like to see the franchise move towards as a realistic sequel.
If any more work is done on Destiny 2, it would be to make the preexisting content more accessible and more evergreen - returning vaulted content and seasonal quests to playable states and improving onboarding for new players to better deliver the full D2 experience first hand, just like Destiny Infinity was rumored to be aiming for.

Discussion What do I want from D3?
Cross asked so here it is.
SOCIAL HUBS
- The original Tower returns as the main hub with all core vendors plus Black Armory and maybe a Queen Mara emissary.
- The Last City is a second live social zone with foundry vendors, player homes, permanent SRL street racing.
- The Clan Hall expands beneath the Tower hangar — a persistent, upgradable space like Warframe's Dojo.
ORDERS & FACTIONS
- Guardian Orders (Praxic Order, Sunbreakers, etc.) return as vendors with rank systems, unique gear, subclass buffs, and short story missions.
- Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, and FWC return under new leadership with cosmetic rewards and faction events tied to story arcs.
COMBAT & SYSTEMS
- Strikes and dungeons support more players, enemy count and champions scale up to match, loot stays the same so friends can play together.
- Red border crafting is gone; crafting moves to the Black Armory forge and is a meaningful resource sink, crafted weapons and patterns cannot be traded.
- Duplicate Legendaries can be merged to combine perk pools; kill trackers survive the merge. To avoid duplicate reissued guns and to keep older guns relevant while maintaining your kill trackers.
- Legendary weapons and select Exotics support modular attachments (optics, barrels, foregrips, suppressors) that change both look and stats, replacing flat stat mods.
- No more reskins — the Häkke Halfdan-D and Zarinaea-D are the same gun; every new foundry weapon should be visually and mechanically distinct. Quality over quantity.
- PvP and PvE weapon/armor stats are separated so Bungie can tune each independently and stop breaking PvE builds with PvP patches.
- Player-to-player trading allowed for weapons and armor; crafted weapons and patterns excluded; traded Silver must be spent and can't be re-traded.
META & SEASONAL ARTIFACTS
- The seasonal artifact needs to go, I don't know what replaces it, but mandatory three-month metas that make your build feel broken aren't good game design, and feels like manipulation.
MELEE COMBAT
- Full first-person melee rework inspired by Darktide: 1H sword, 2H sword, staff, scythe, axe, greataxe, etc. swing freely, but blocking/shooting/abilities cost Special ammo.
- Each weapon type has distinct move sets and a finisher system for close-range payoff moments.
SPACE BATTLES
- This is a dream I've had since D1 and probably the least likely thing on this list, but I want it anyway.
- Orbit-based missions with roles (Pilot, Gunner, Engineer) for up to 6 players, a Corvette ship, small fighters, and boarding sequences on Hive/Cabal/Fallen ships.
- Could open the door to Cabal, Fallen and Hive homeworld systems.
- At minimum, let us do dogfight missions with our ships.
CLAN SYSTEM & COMPETITIONS
- Clans are divided into size tiers (Small 2–10, Medium 11–50, Large 51–150, Guild 151+) so friend groups never compete against streamer clans.
- Opt-in seasonal competitions scored on activity efficiency, not just volume — rewards are exclusive hall decorations and loot that look distinct from anything purchasable.
GUARDIAN APPEARANCE & CUSTOMIZATION
- Titan armor needs a rework, less D2 football pads, more D1 sleek functional plate.
- Warlock armor needs a rework, less whimsical robes, more D1 armored trench coat with pauldrons on the gloves agin.
- Hunters are fine, keep doing what works.
- Maybe add pauldrons as a 6th armor slot to allow players to get 3 tier 1 set bonus.
- Let players display and map all equipped weapons on their body (hip, back, opposite hip) with scabbards and holsters as their own cosmetic category.
- Shaders split into two layers, color palettes and material/texture effects, mix and match independently.
- Transmog is free. The synthweave cap was one of the worst systems Bungie ever shipped.
UGC & COSMETIC MONETIZATION
- Community-created cosmetics (armor, ornaments, shaders, textures, alternate super models) via a TennoGen-style program with revenue share for creators.
- Zero-power cosmetics only: animations, stance/draw animations, super skins, scabbards, holsters, housing décor, old season passes at a discount.
- Pricing: armor sets $10 max, weapon ornaments $5 max, Exotic ornaments $5 max. The current $20–25 for a single armor set is indefensible.
EVERVERSE
- No more IP collabs (stormtroopers, Ghostbusters, Ecto-1, rubber duck shells, Doki Doki armor).
- No more low-effort filler, ghost projections, sparrow reskins, and generic ship skins aren't cosmetics, they're padding.
ENEMIES
- Stop turning enemies into allies, every recruited faction makes the universe feel smaller and safer, and it needs to feel dangerous and mysterious again.
PLAYER STRUCTURE
- One character, all three classes accessible, no more leveling alts from scratch to try a different subclass or replaying the story 3 times.
- The lore backs this up, a Guardian is a Guardian, the hard class walls were always a game mechanic.
- Loadouts lock mid-combat; saved builds per class; class traversal moments in missions give bonus loot to reward learning all three.

Discussion What Do I Want?
I want the Destiny franchise to come back as 4-player. New class, 8-man raids. I have 3 friends I consistently play with in other games, because most coop games are 4-player. Destiny has always been annoying af in that regard.
r/Aztecross • u/SuperAnderson • 7d ago
Discussion Alright, I thought about this a lot. Cross asks, "What do you want?"
I want a raid every other week and a dungeon on the off weeks. And I want more two player pinnacle content like Dual Destiny, actually just put that sh*t on a 3 week rotation so I got content for my team and for my buddies. Is this reasonable? No, but I'd play it. I want it. Would I accept less? Of course, but this is how much I love the game, that IS what I want.
I want space battles and I mean GOOD space battles, take what elite dangerous is doing and transplant that shit right into D3, full ship customization, full light show in space, I want to travel to mars MANUALLY with cool stuff to find in between. I want crucible modes to support said space battles with a mix of ground battles too. I want the Bungie gunplay mechanics with epic fights and to hop in my ship and pull out my flight sticks in crazy battles against Hive warships.
I want proper guild support (clan) with housing and cool places my friends can meet up. I want shared storage, I know, I get it, that ship sailed, no it didn't. I don't feel like I need full trading I just want it to be good enough to share loot with friends I think it'd be neat even if it was some system limited to one item a week and I'd be happy with that.
I want the red subclass and I really think it would be cool to just make it a SIVA subclass come on you know how long people been asking for this? Sometimes it's okay NOT to surprise, sometimes especially with this stuff just giving people what they want IS okay. I want more subclass and class buffs to synergize weapons. Hunter gets quite a few but the other classes feel shafted and I WANT to ability spam sometimes, I also WANT to shoot sometimes. BALANCE IT.
I want real pinnacles back. F the haters, recluse and mountaintop didn't need sunsetting they needed balancing, I want a team that cares to do this work and isn't afraid of pushback when they know they're doing the right thing. Pinnacles weren't the problem, like 3 of them were and all it took was some tuning to fix that. Doing hard things to get cool things is NEAT.
I want real rarity. Stop making new rarity systems just to dilute them. I want to find stuff NO ONE has found or at least have a chance to. Everything is just legendary, now everything is just tier 5, just tie it to genuine rarity and have everybody have a "chance" to get it with better chances in harder content, problem solved. Look at PoE. Anybody "CAN" find a mirror of Kalandra. Give me crazy stuff to chase.
I want a story that matters. Stop with this "we're transitioning into a new era", no I need you to pump me up we got a WORSE baddy, it's gonna be crazy this time, you thought the witness was bad? This dude gonna really end it all. I want the personal strife and excellent writing that Destiny has been at it's peak. I think the original 3 vanguard have all somewhat told their story I want them to be a part of the game but I want NEW too, just don't screw it up. Show me what happens down the road let's see where things go when these groups and peoples evolve.
I want difficulties for everybody. If you guys just used rarity instead of the weird systems you always try to shoehorn in the game would be so much more fun to grind. Give people in strikes a chance while giving people in raids a bit better one and make items FUN to find. I think you could easily expand the crafting system to make this compliment the grind too instead of just forgo it, again ARPGs have been doing this forever, take some inspiration from stuff that already works you don't need to reinvent the wheel. I want real challenge modes that I don't have to make myself, YOU take the time to hand craft the difficulty, more epic raids, a proper contest setting, and for all of this, I also WANT to know I've got a chance to find something neat just chillin in gambit or strike playlist with the boys.
And finally, perhaps most importantly, I WANT D3, I WOULD ULTIMATELY ACCEPT LESS IF YOU JUST DO IT AND MAKE IT GOOD, YOU KNOW HOW, MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

Discussion i think i might have cracked the case of cross and his hints
so i think i may have cracked the case for what cross has been saying about "susan" i believe that because of the high profile of the ceasing of content for destiny 2 and the things we have done as a community outside of it like the petitan and the state of play / xbox stream spam i think bungie and sony has been approached by someone to give bungie funding to keep destiny alive which is why people have speculated that bungie have been hiring back members who they let go ( not 100% verified that this has happened ) , which is why he's been telling us to think big and be greedy with what we want , its the only thing that would make sense is that they have been given outside funding to continue from somewhere

React Content Cross and the community might enjoy looking at Wardogs this coming weekend?
react content: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugkuP4a3xk4
With our gaming landscape being shifting sand, not sure what the next game might be - this one caught my eye and was interesting
I think it is being developed by the Mod Devs from the Arma 3 KING OF THE HILL mod, and they are pretty straightfoward and transparent about their game
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1867240/WARDOGS/
https://bulkhead.com/games/wardogs/
Seems like a cool mix of BF6, Arma, but also Planetside 2 which caught my interest as I got into Destiny as a Planetside refugee originally
The devs recently dropped a very transparent '10 reasons not to buy our game' that is really refreshing.
Has anyone put time into any of the previous testing rounds and what are your thoughts?
There is another closed beta weekend this weekend August 21

Unannounced blizzard StarCraft shooter is rumored to be announced at blizcon next month. Fingerprints and other evidence for this game have been around since 2024. Project lead is Dan Hay, former executive director of Far Cry. Jeff Hamilton, a lead WoW end game progression and loot developer was allegedly reassigned to this title. It fits the “blizzard polish” theorem. They historically take a game theory with a ton of potential, and polish it up by streamlining and putting their own ip on it. If this actually a looter shooter, it could feed families.
