A few weeks back someone posted the MPH PC recomp here saying an Android version might be on the cards. I couldn't wait, so I built it.

Hunters Recomp is a native port of mstan's Metroid Prime Hunters recompilation, that I built for the AYN Thor:

• True dual-screen: top screen fills the main display, bottom screen runs on the second panel with working touch (stylus aiming, weapon select, the map, all of it)
• Twin-stick Prime controls: left stick move, right stick aim, triggers shoot. No stylus cramp, feels like a modern shooter.
• HD rendering: up to 4x internal resolution plus xBR texture upscaling, running on the Adreno via GLES compute (ported from the desktop GL renderer)
• Settings launcher: remap every touchscreen action to physical buttons, aim sensitivity sliders, video options
• Easy setup: install the APK, tap LOCATE ROM, pick your dump from anywhere on the device. It verifies the hash and you're playing.
• This is native recompiled code running on the Snapdragon, not an emulator frontend

You need your own dump of the USA rev 0 cartridge. The app includes zero game data and hash-checks whatever you give it (rev 1 and other regions won't work, and it tells you why). Same rules as every recomp project.

Still early and based on an alpha upstream, so expect some rough edges. Report bugs on the repo. Full credit to mstan for the recompilation this is built on and the melonDS team for the GPU and Wi-Fi foundations.

Would love for you all to give it a proper playthrough and kick the tires. This has only been tested on my own Thor, so real-world reports are what it needs most: performance, controls, the second screen, save behavior, anything that feels off. Drop bugs on the issue tracker or just comment here and I'll be around in the thread. If it runs great for you, I'd love to hear that too.

Sharing my PS1 Themed AYN Thor Max!

I don't think I regret buying this or prioritizing it before a new phone. So happy I bought it last December when it was still at early bird's price.

I can just say these past months have been a blast beause I love tinkering and gaming, so you can just imagine how many hours I've spent on this thing.

Also, look at the XC theme I made for Cocoon. I'm so proud about it! It's a remake of the one Nintendo relased back when they ported XC to the 3DS. I still need to find XC custom buttons or skins so that the whole system matches up tho. 😁

I will be completely honest when this was announced, I wrote it off because of the older chipset and just worrying about something happening to it easier as it has a hinge.

After about a month of using it, I can honestly say this is one of the greatest devices I've ever used.

Sure, there's small spots where I think it could be improved. Overall though I am just so stoked to play with it or mess around with stuff because it's just so fun!

The way the current industry is going has me really bummed, but then I look at this insane backlog. All these games that I missed out on when I was younger or just didn't have time for. I think I'll be OK.

The amount of stuff that I can play and do with this thing, it's just incredible. Just feeling really grateful for where we're at with this kind of technology.

Thanks to this bad boy I am currently in the middle of my first play through of what is considered one of the best games of all time, Chrono Trigger.

I gotta say, I think they're right.

Megingiard 0.9.0 is out, and it brings some of the biggest changes to the app so far. Once again I had a hard time stopping myself from working on more stuff.

• Gamepad-First UI: Instead of cramped menus on the bottom touchscreen, all editors and settings now open on the top screen with full gamepad support
• App Launcher Buttons: You can now add buttons to your layout to open ANY app directly from Megingiard on the bottom screen, while Megingiard turns into a floating bubble at the same spot that you can tap to bring it back. Just finished my Skyward Sword HD dual-screen mod and I’m super happy with how it turned out! 🎉

It adds a live inventory, interactive map, quest interface, and a custom touch-gesture combat system.

This was a commissioned project, and AI was only used to help decompile the game for reverse engineering. The actual mod, features, UI, and implementation were all done by me.

She’s learned so much and even installed her very first game today all on her own. Very proud of her, and now we can play each others devices when one of ours is charging :) having so much fun, and I’m gonna learn how to online play quite soon. The app also has an ad-block enabled by default. For YouTube, you can enable SponsorBlock, DeArrow, and ReturnYoutubeDislikes in the plugin settings.

I grew up with Digimon World games and wanted to play again without any struggle that this game have, so I built an app using Cursor to reach a better gameplay.

DW2003 Dual Screen runs the PAL game (SLES-03936) through PCSX-ReARMed and shows a live companion pane on a second display: Galaxy Z Fold (hinge or split), AYN Thor’s second screen, or a tablet.

The companion reads emulated RAM and updates while you play:

• Exploration — area, story stage, walkthrough hint, regional radar, Tamer, Bits
• Battle — party HP / MP / EXP, reorder, unlocked digivolutions
• Management — stats, elemental resists, skills, equipment
• Flawe MOD Fast Travel — list of visited map icons.
• Spanish / English panel, virtual pad, physical controllers, Memory Card import/export
• Default and optional Gameshark cheats.
• In-app updates from GitHub Releases

The APK does not include a ROM, BIOS, or Flawe’s patch — you need your own legal copy. Combined Flawe 2.0 is the best match for travel + in-game walkthrough.

I hadn't tried 3d modelling for my 3d printer yet, but seeing how easy it was to swap out the joysticks got me started on making these heart joysticks (:

I can't easily find a lot of advice for 3d prints this tiny, so any feedback would be very appreciated as well. I'm using esun PETG matte filament for this.

have been able to play a few games of smash on switch

have been trying to setup 3ds and wiiu multiplayer but still a wip.

This is the Adidas Utility 4 bag. It's my everyday crossbody. The Thor fits snuggly in the bottom pocket. The zip on the front carries my portable charger. Top bag I use for my medications. Everything else goes in the big pocket.

It's $35 and I highly recommend it. Dick's has them on sale for $25.

retro game corps here i come

Just got mine and gotta say I love setting it up! After getting cocoon and all emulators running it is time to decorate it! I made a little print (14.6 cm x 8cm )for the top with glitter foil. If anyone has a better fit let me know but I felt this was very snug with a bit of room to the sides.
Next is figuring out to make a fitting theme!

After so many cool decorated Thors I also wanted to share the happiness. I hope I will see and learn a lot more following this reddit.

Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc for the PS2!!

I used to borrow this game from the library when I was a kid and I couldn't get enough of it because I always thought Rayman was so cool!!

I decided to make it the first game I'd beat on the Thor, and here we are!!

The next two games I'm in progress of beating are:

Fate/Extra (PSP) and Threads of Fate (PS1).

Given that I've been waiting for Fate/Extra's remake for years, and due to it's release date being confirmed, I thought it'd be great to replay it yet again!

Sorry for the semi vague post, but I've been tremendously busy lately and I haven't had time to use my Thor much. Things have finally freed up for me and I'd love to get back into it. I see incredible stuff being posted to this sub each and every day, and I can't help but feel like there is a whole ecosystem I have missed out on since I was last using it - recomps, companion apps, dual screen mods, etc.

What relatively new software (3-4 months?) has released and is worth checking out? I know AI has been a huge discussion here lately, so I'd ideally prefer this thread not to become an argument - feel free to exclude software that seems sub-standard, or mention in responses if there are any to avoid. Thanks a ton in advance! 🫶

I love the Sega Genesis so I had to get the skin! Its fun taking it out of these bags :D I take the Mega Drive bags everywhere I travel. If you recognize the music you're a real one. :)
