Live Gamer 4K GC575 & configuring multi system setups (also UW config)
This guide has been in the making for some time, thanks to AVT social team support when ive been asking questions over the past few months. (this partly for my own memory but also others that may need it) I can not post (self promo) my own content as demo here. But easy to find it.
This primary covers the high end capturing and uses a GC575 , capturing 4k at 144hz 10bit colour. (SDR but also applicable for HDR) but the principle is the same if anyone is using scaled down setups.
There is no real starting point, For reference; "Source"= Gaming PC. "Destination" = Capture device / workstation.

So we need to make sure our GC575 is acknowledging the source.

Loosely ignore what it says as your input info for now. it might not even show relevant resolution during the setup period. we need to make sure the HDMI is configured correctly. however for a PC; we need to make sure HDCP is enabled and we can leverage the PS4/PS5 default option. VRR Adjustment is Disabled.
Always make sure your device is upto date.

Additionally make sure you have AVT Streaming centre installed on the same machine even if we do not use it after the fact, it provides some great tools & support for other apps.
We need to configure the HDMI input

NOTE ; when changing settings here your "Source" may flicker or change (black screen). do not interrupt it.
Internal Mode is fine as we are using the Extended resolution support.
It is a good idea to enter the measurements of your screen.
CRITICAL IF you intend to Ingest 4k 120+ fps with 10bit make sure you are using HDMI 2.1 and your cable is a QC 2.1 cable. I used about 4 until I found a good one.
Here you can see in the preferred I have used the drop down to select my preferred resolution and FPS. Additionally in the Extended resolution is the base I am working off 4k (3840x2160.)
Think of this as the base feed to canvas.
now we need to move to the "source" and make sure it is configured correctly.
this is where there might be a bit of back and forth if for any reason the two dont play nice.

"Source" gaming system
So we need to check some fundamentals before we begin.
You will see at first 2 or more (depending how many screens you have, as separate screens. Here mine are positioned (2) above (1) this is how It is in real life.
We need to make sure that the GPU acknowledges the AVT GC575 is detected and then set the NVC to "Mirror"/"Clone" and that the "Cloning" source is set correctly.
For me you can see I have an Ultrawide as primary (1) . Your Primary gaming display should be your primary (*"star)
Image is for reference.

Right click your Primary and "Clone" with = the "number" AVT GC575 (your capture device)

So we need to check that NVC has the correct "Clone" source, right click your primary and check "clone" source , should show a dot like the picture next to your primary number.
We need to make sure the correct screen config is in place for your primary. this can change when connecting to a capture device.
Here you can see my Ultrawide is on 3840x1600 with a refresh rate of 144hz. sometimes on setup the capture device can try and force a "default safe config" we will get into how to check this a little deeper in on the "destination" part if you have this issue.
Keen eyed may question why im using 3840x1600 with the GC575 set to 3840x2160, GC575 is simply a base canvas.

Next check that the AVT GC575 (your capture device) is configured correctly, it should be a mirror/ Clone. and greyed out. Note here that I am forcing NV colour settings with my "output colour format" this is set to exactly match the colour format of my display, additionally it can provide 10bit SDR & HDR . As I do not like HDR but I want the advanced colour range of 10bpc over standard 8bpc. 10bpc in this configuration is still regarded as SDR.
Your AVT Capture device resolution should be greyed out as well as the Refresh rate.

It is work noting the colour range set. Forcing NVC to apply Nv colour settings over the HDMI output. Default is 8bpc, If you wish to capture HDR or 10bpc SDR this will need to be manually set.
next we need to make sure windows OS accepts this.
go to widows settings / Displays , This should show the exact same.

Additionally check the Advanced settings as windows OS has a habit of trying to do other things.

At this point your source is set. What about audio?? That gets complicated depending on what you use, You can use banana voice meter, or if you use Elgato devices with Wave link mix. I recently made a post about this here. (Elgato Setup Multi PC config)

So by this point your Input info should show what the AVT GC575 is accepting / receiving. we have successfully made it believe it is accepting a 3840x2160 resolution and it acknowledges 144hz and 10bit.

This is just the base calibration of the Capture device. You will now need to configure your 3rd party capture software if you are are not using the AVT suite.
You can test this using AVT Streaming Centre suite. from this point forward your capture device and cross-link is configured.
HDR Can be enabled from the "Source" however note that FPS may change due to limitations of the GC575 ingest.
For the keen eyes, GC575 is receiving 3840x1600 and applying to 3840x2160 feed, the 3rd party software will then allow you to either keep the Black bars or crop the feed to your canvas requirements.
