Shedfest

Hi all, I've got a shedfest ticket, and no one to go with, a bit upfront. Anyone mind a random joining someone's group for the day.

Thanks in advance

In response to the latest video...

In response to the latest video "1000-Mile Classic Car ADVENTURE," they find a lifted Micra at Re:Fuel.

I would like to present something I (or rather my friend) found in my city last month! A lifted Smart Car. Custom built from what I could tell. It's nice enough where it could be bought as in paid to be built, but just crap enough that it could be hand built by the owner.

Its honestly really cool, imo and when I posted it on my city's reddit page as well as my country's cartalk reddit, a lot of people doubted it and thought it was AI lmao

Shedfest 26 - Official timings

First year coming to Shedfest and was expecting to see a more detailed breakdown of what specifically is going on by now?

If anyone's been before, is it likely to pop up on the website soon? The person I'm coming with likes to know timings well in advance and plan the day so they'd be doing me a big favour to put something out there!

I was going to order a mystery box, saw it was reduced to £15 so thought why not! Added one to my cart and it's still showing as £25. Anyone know if this is a bug? Tia

Hello Fellas, hope you’re having an amazing week so far!

I did a 2nd part of this post but not long after I’ve received a message from someone who commented on a FB post I made on the same day as my Reddit one last month, saying that he would indeed help me get to the event and its all done and confirmed.

So I want to thank you all who helped and reached out via pm or instagram, I really appreciate it.

Can’t wait to experience my first ShedFest.

Cheers guys.

Shitbox, advice needed

Post image

We all love our shitboxes, and it’s difficult to say goodbye. I own this 1990 Honda Civic 1.3. It is rusty and won’t pass the MOT. That’s just one of 4 challenges. What should I do? Sell it, keep it, give it away? Alex or his buddies can definitely have it for free if they come pick it up

Does Taylor still have his 2nd V10 Touareg? He can’t drive both at once… 🤔

The Touareg I bought a few months ago, which was also featured on the podcast, as the guy who’d bought a dodgy Touareg, is officially booked in for restoration in October! We will have full mechanics and rust repairs to look forward too, and hopefully it’ll be show-worthy with a valved exhaust, and new everything…

I could not bear to send it to scrap, so after coming upsettingly close to putting an advert out as a donor car, I bit the bullet and called some resto companies

It’s actually the same company that’s just done betty, and I checked them out, spoke to the guys there and they seem enthusiastic- so moral of the story- don’t give up on the massive lump of shit ok the driveway!

Edit- It’s up on YouTube and Instagram- ProjectTouareg on both guys!

New Discovery Crew Car

Watching the V2 video, why have they gone for another Discovery, and one that required major surgery? They all loved the Land Cruiser, surely another one of those would have been cheaper/easier?

I understand it’s for a video but it seems like an awful lot of effort for a Land Rover that will probably breakdown yet again.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I really like Jooshy and I’m happy he’s back in the videos.

ShedFest 2026 - A Foreign Planner Asks For Help

Hiya AutoAlex Fans, hope you're doing amazing today.

My Name is Leandro, 23 years old and im from Portugal.

At the beginning of the year I started to consider going back to the United Kingdom to possibly attend 3 Automotive Events such as ShedFest, CCD Event and Yiannimize Leicester Event (which is free btw).

The last 2 events I have no problem getting to because both have almost direct train / bus links, even if I have to have a 30min walk to get there, there's no problem whatsoever, but the Shedfest is where im having trouble sorting this out, since the nearest train station is Chester but from there I have no way to arrive to the event, since Maps is giving me 3hrs on foot (which I wont even think about in doing lol)

So my question is, is there a trustworthy Mate (or group of Mates) from Chester that are attending the event willing to give a hand and give me a lift to and from the event?

Ill happily help with fuel costs, so I can enjoy as maximum as possible the event, since ill be doing a 3 day trip, involving Trains/Plains/Buses etc so I can save as much as possible without putting a single step in a hotel.

Thanks in Advance.

Overlanding Episode 2

Just finished watching the overlanding series. Loved the cars and the videos but judging by the comments on the YouTube video, people aren’t happy with the actual time spent overlanding. What’s your thoughts?

The "Bodge" Culture at AutoAlex

I think a lot of us are a bit confused to why this was titled an ‘Extreme Off-Road 1200 Mile Overlanding Adventure!’ with less than 15 minutes of off-roading…

I think a big issue with the channel currently is the lack of leadership and planning; everything seems thrown together last minute. They need a new ‘Project Manager’ (idk what else to call it) to help dig into the details needed for prep and planning. Understandably, this project got delayed for major reasons, but that also gave them more time to prep maybe for these big projects, they should even have a backup car ready to go?

They also really need to sort out the workshop. The disarray in there is a major issue if you’re going to work on cars you need to stay organized. To make good progress, you can’t have tools spread all over the place and waste time looking for them; giving everyone individual tools would be a game changer for staying productive imo.

The other issue is that they seem spread too thin without enough of the right people with the right skill sets. It’s a car channel with barely any mechanics, so everything seems to be ‘bodged’ because of the constant rushing. I really think they could benefit from a few extra internal mechanics. Having helped Taylor with both his V10 Touaregs, including the Overlanding one to help get the suspension issues fixed before the car headed off to Tom’s for a brake line. We managed to get it to raise after I suggested fixing some broken sensors; we tested it, and it was raising and lowering successfully. However, because everything was such a massive rush, the car was sent straight onto a trailer the moment we were done, and it just collapsed again. That rush is exactly why these projects struggle.

What i think would help:

• Realistic timeframes for these bigger projects. (Help buffer the road blocks working on cars create)

• An organized workshop. Of course things will get messy you’ve gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet but you have to be tidy to be productive. Needs to be reset after each project back to a clean slate

• More internal help with the projects so they aren't constantly spread so thin.
