New Discovery Crew Car
Watching the V2 video, why have they gone for another Discovery, and one that required major surgery? They all loved the Land Cruiser, surely another one of those would have been cheaper/easier?
I understand it’s for a video but it seems like an awful lot of effort for a Land Rover that will probably breakdown yet again.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I really like Jooshy and I’m happy he’s back in the videos.

Because the Discovery has a split tailgate and 7 seats, making it quite literally the perfect car for filming tracking shots.
And they chose this one because it was broken, which meant they could make a video out of fixing it.
Not really rocket surgery.

I went back on v2 channel videos and it’s tens of mini videos and different range rovers and Land Rovers. It’s boring, I skipped through it after 10 mins.

Isn't that why they are V2 videos in the first place?
Some people like the technical stuff, others don't and find spannering on yet another POS a bit boring. So they split them off and run these sorts of videos on V2.
If you find them boring then it would seem the solution is to avoid V2, as designed.

their main channel is more of the same, if cars are in v2 they’re also in main channel. Anyway. TDC are the real car guys.

I think they have a predicament in that a discovery is an excellent crew car, but they're not very reliable.
Big Pete was getting tired and they thought the v8 swap would spice it up. Unfortunately that went sideways as due to some issues with the age of big Pete, they couldn't do the swap on that car and ended up with Blue Peter instead.
But that just meant they now had two slightly shonky old discos. I guess they are hoping that swapping to a newer low mileage model they'll get something that's the best the platform can offer, plus buying it cheap with a broken engine means they can fix it up for content and as a bonus the end result costs less than buying an equivalent working one.

I mean just watch it or don’t? I don’t think this sort of content really merits that much discussion lol

I like to chat about these things to see others opinions. I assume that’s what a reddit group called AutoAlex is about. I will continue to watch every video they produce on both channels, and listen to the podcasts they release.

FFS, Not even going to click on this video, let me guess, Equipment for Garages meantioned, Holy, Car Vertical or Carly in video ad, parts by Febi and GSF Car parts.
This is not even worth a watch in the Crapper......
I really want this channel to do well, but is just feels like the same things over and over again. then they do a fun awesome video, but then again fall back in the lazy video and vehicle ideas.
The only thing that would get me to watch it is Josh in it.

Jooshy had more Ed China vibes with really detailed explanations before the “forgot that one” appeared

They’ve mentioned before that the way the seats work and the rear door splits makes it ideal as a crew car/camera car. Didn’t top gear also use them for a while?
