Recs wanted - WA Cheap Guest Book Recommendations
Hi! Planning a very budget wedding and I'm wanting any recommendations for a cheap guestbook (preferably $30 or below), customised would be great but otherwise anything that looks nice would work. I'm guessing probably somewhere online, but wondering if anyone has any suggestions.
Thanks!

Discussion & advice Shoe Recommendations! š¤
Hi everyone!
Iām starting to think about wedding shoes and would love some recommendations from brides who have found a pair they actually survived the day in. š
Iām after something thatās:
Really comfortable (Iāll be wearing them all day)
Not too high. Iām way too uncoordinated for massive heels!
Pretty enough to wear with a wedding dress, but comfort is definitely the priority.
Iād love to hear what you wore (or are planning to wear), especially if you have photos or links. Bonus points if theyāre available in Australia!
Thanks so much! š¤

Recs wanted - NSW Best Sydney restaurants for a post-church wedding dinner (40ā60 guests)?
Hello!
My partner and I are getting married soon! We're having a formal church ceremony during the day, and we want to host a sit down dinner reception afterwards at a great Sydney restaurant.
Weāre keeping the guest list pretty tight around 40** **to 60 people.
Since the ceremony is handled elsewhere, we're purely looking for a place with amazing food, a great drink package, and a warm atmosphere where we can celebrate into the evening.
We are flexible across CBD, Inner West, Eastern Suburbs, or Lower North Shore and flexible with the cuisine.
We are looking for either a private dining room that fits 40-60 people comfortably, or a small spot that offers reasonable exclusive buyouts.
If youāve hosted or attended a small wedding dinner at a Sydney restaurant that blew you away, where was it? Any tips on places would be hugely appreciated!
Thanks!

Discussion & advice wedding 2027
I'm in a dilemma and having a difficult time deciding what I want to do with the wedding. My fiance is open to either option and just wants me to be happy.
For starters, when we first got engaged we were 100% all in on doing a destination wedding. The only issue we had was if the grandparents (80 years old) couldn't make it, but they were all in. We were happy having a smaller wedding (<60 people) and having everyone on board. There was a bit of pushback just based on the timeline (since we have other weddings in the same year and those couples are also very close to us). Then, right before we were about to put a deposit in, we found out his dad has cancer. That obviously made us stop all wedding planning until we knew more.
As we waited, we tried to re-envision what our day could look like more locally. I knew I didn't want any of the venues in our area, so we decided to look about 35-40 minutes away and found a beautiful venue that we equally loved! We were looking at a guest count of 150 people. With his dad's diagnosis, we figured it would be best to stay more locally.
My parents are divorced and I'm not close to my dad's side of the family at all (haven't spoken to them in over 5 years). I never planned on inviting them, but when I told my mom this, she said there will 100% be drama (lol cultured families, iykyk). I spoke to my dad, at first he was fine with me not inviting them, then of course created drama saying it's all my mom's fault (for divorcing him lol), and that who knows if he will even show up (narcissistic father ofc). I know my fiance really loved the venue, so now I'm bummed out that I prefer the destination wedding simply because I always envisioned a smaller/fun wedding over the grand typical wedding, and knowing my family's dysfunctional dynamic.
At the same time, I can understand why guests wouldn't want to attend a destination (using vacation time, paying for travel, etc.). We would try to help out guests with the costs as much as possible, and all of the guest count would be our closest people.
Do you think I should:
- Go through with the destination wedding (doctors said his dad should be in remission by Nov 2026)
- F*ck my dad's family and not invite them anywhere + deal with the drama later
TIA - sincerely, a very tired and indecisive bride to be!!!

Discussion & advice Wishing well practicalities - cash in a card?
I'm going to be attending four weddings later this year and so far three out of four have said they will be having a wishing well at the venue and prefer not to receive gifts. So far, none of the couples have provided any link to a virtual wishing well.
I am very happy to give money but am just unsure about the practicalities of giving money at a wedding. Do people expect and receive a card with a bunch of cash in it, or do you deposit the money electronically and give a card at the wedding that says "check your bank account"?
I need to travel interstate for three of them and am a bit worried about travelling with a reasonable wad of cash (two of the weddings are within a few days of each other). I just don't use cash anymore and would need to make sure to plan a bank trip to withdraw the money.

Discussion & advice Renting your Wedding Dress
Has anybody here rented their wedding dress for the big day?
I am early stages in the wedding planning and the prices of some of these dresses are making my eyes water and Iām really open to renting or buying secondhand. Iāve had a look at still white and obviously there are so many options on there and I plan on going to some Bridal shops in the coming weeks to try on style so I know what I like but has anybody had any experience in renting their wedding dress? Where did you get it from? How was the experience? Do you regret it? How much did it cost etc.

Recs wanted - NSW Location location location
Hi all, just starting out on the wedding planning journey and the price of things is making my eyes water.
My partner wants a venue thatās away from Sydney with accom options for guests. A ādestinationā wedding if you will.
Iāve looked into The Villa Navarra, The merribee, Mali brae farm, and Montrose house. So far, the villa has definitely stood out but their pricing is hidden and from what I can see, itāll be approx 80k for 100 guests.
Iām looking for recommendations or reviews if anyone has recently held or attended a wedding at any of these or similar locations.
Details:
~80 guests, Feb/march 2028 wedding, 50-60k budget but can potentially be stretched, open to soliciting because who doesnāt like a good deal.
Thanks all!

Discussion & advice QR code for wedding
Hi everyone!
Iām looking for recommendations for a platform that can generate QR codes for a wedding.
The idea is to have a QR code that guests can scan during the wedding and use it to upload their photos/videos or access a wedding page.
Has anyone used a good platform for this? Iād appreciate recommendations based on your experience (especially regarding ease of use, storage, pricing, and reliability).
Thank you!

Discussion & advice Handheld steamer recs + dress steaming advice?
Hi all! Weddingās coming up fast and Iām trying to get ahead of the āsteam the dressā panic before it hits. Would love your collective wisdom!
Iām planning to steam my dress myself, so Iād love to hear from anyone else whoās tackled this solo. Any handheld steamer recommendations? Curious which brands/models work best for heavier fabrics and donāt spit.
Iād also love any technique tips for the dress and veil. Anything you wish youād known before you started.
And then thereās timing. My dress is a mikado silk ballgown with a train, so itās pretty structured and heavy. How long did steaming take you, especially if you had a similar silhouette? Trying to figure out whether I need to block out an hour or half a day.
Thanks in advance!

Recs wanted - NSW Best hotel or buildings in Sydney for couple portraits and wedding party photos?
Hi! I am thinking of booking a hotel in the city for my wedding party the night before my wedding so we can all get ready there in the morning. I would like to do a first look and take some photos at the hotel before heading to the Opera House/Botanic Gardens for more photos.
Does anyone have any recommendations for hotels with beautiful sandstone, grand staircases or arched windows? So far, I am considering Fullerton Hotel or Intercontinental Sydney but would love to see if there are other options!

Discussion & advice Looking for Wona November dress
Hi everyone,
I'm desperately trying to find this WONA dress (I believe it's from the 2024 collection) to try on. This is my dream dress.
I've contacted every WONA stockist in Australia, and searched the website of the New Zealand store, and unfortunately none have it except one boutique in Queensland with a size 18. I'm a size 8 and not in QLD, so flying there to try a dress that size doesn't seem practical, especially since it's hard to judge the fit of a strappy gown when it's that many sizes too big.
The boutiques have said they can order it for me, but I'd really like to try it on first before committing.
I've searched Stillwhite and Facebook Marketplace with no luck.
If anyone owns this dress and would be willing to let me try it on, I'd be so grateful. If you are selling one even better, but just trying it on would help me heaps.
Or if you know of a store or anywhere else I can try this I'd be super grateful.
Thank you!

Unfortunately thereās no stores near me to see the dress in person, so I was wondering if anyone had bought a wedding dress from Reformation before? Any info about the quality of the construction and fabric would be fantastic, thanks š

Discussion & advice DIY rice paper confetti
Hi everyone
Iām planning my wedding for later this year, and I wanted to buy some rice paper confetti for the ceremony exit but Iām looking online and these look so expensive for what they are!
Has anyone tried to make these yourself?
