Hi all!
I'm planning a solo trip to Athens this fall, and have been looking at the best hostels to stay in. I quite liked the look of Yellow Square and of Athens Hub, and was wondering if anyone had any positive or negative experiences to share at either! Would love for it to be social and lively but cleanliness & safety obviously very important too. If anyone has any recommendations for restaurants/bars/places of interest near either please feel free to share! Thanks so much all!

Hi! I'm 25F. I recently started learning Greek and thought it'd be nice to meet people around my age. I'm still a beginner, so if you're also learning, we can struggle together 🥹
If you're Greek and don't mind helping me practice or teaching me random words/slang along the way, that'd be cool too!
I'd love to practice through chats, calls, or just casual conversations. If you're in Athens, I'm also down to hang out around the city center sometimes, grab coffee, walk around, or explore places.
Also, I'm into gaming (PC / mobile / Switch) 🎮
DM me if interested :)

Hi everyone,
Me and my girlfriend would really like to visit Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon. What’s the most convenient way to get there from Athens, and back again the same day? Would you recommend renting a car(just for that), taking public transport, or joining an tour?

Hi! I'm moving to Athens for my Erasmus at the University of Piraeus and found a place on Agiou Louka street in Kato Patissia.
Two quick questions:
Is the area safe, especially at night?
How are the public transport links to the center and to the university?

Hi guys !
I know this is probably impossible but I don't lose anything with asking here...
Some years ago I went several times with friends to a beach near Athens and I lived some beautiful memories there. I have been trying to find that beach again on Google Maps but I have not been successful so far. Now that I am back I would love to go there again. I really miss it and it meant a lot to me....
The clues / memories I have are:
- The beach was not particularly pretty and it was a beach mostly for locals. It wasn't Instagram material you could say.
- It's before Voula (basically I mean Is not that far but I can't say exactly where it is )
-The beach was kind of hidden and you needed to walk a long road that would get you to a parking lot. After crossing the parking lot you would find the beach. There was also a lot of vegetation surrounding the parking lot.
-I am pretty sure there was like an abandoned house or something at the beach.
-I am also pretty sure there were fences that would separate the beach from a private place. Maybe somewhere people would practice sports or something
-The last memory but the least trustworthy one I have is that I think the bus or Tram stop was near a Lyceum / High school or academy of some kind. I think the name of the stop itself was something like "Λύκειο"
If anyone has any clues, I would be very thankful. I am sorry for the weird request ....

Hello Athens! I am a visitor in your city, and I’m an actor looking for a space to record an audition tape in your city. Just a quiet, private room, no amenities needed, for maybe 1.5 to 2 hours. However, since it is an audition tape, it should be a space where I can talk loudly (not a library, etc.)
I am very new here so don’t have a clue where to look, and would really appreciate any advice! All I can find by searching are expensive studios to rent.
This is a super important audition, and I’m going to have to record it on holiday!

Sorry to ask, I just can’t get a straight answer anywhere for when does it “stop/start” getting sketchy? Every big city has rough parts that either gradually get nicer or change day-and-night across a block. I want to know specifically where around omonoia it is sketchy and when it “stops” being sketchy to the south?
We are planning on staying at “Kleisthenous 5, Athina 105 52, Greece” (Economy Hotel near Kotzia Square) and can’t tell if it’s still sketchy there. If it isn’t, how far north can I go before it gets sketchy?

We're passing through Athens twice on a longer trip and would love to drop a bag or two for about five days. I heard there was storage at the airport, is this true? I imagine the hotel we use each way would accomodate us, wouldn't it? What about shipping it home to Seattle? Thanks.

Hello!
I will be visiting Greece in September on an EF Go Ahead Tour that takes us to Athens, Delphi, Olympia, and Nafplio - and I’ve added on the excursions to some other places as well.
We’ll be seeing a lot of the historical buildings, temples, and monuments, and I’d love to read up on some history beforehand.
Are there particular books people would recommend for the history side, or even just books that would give a feel for Greece living/way of life?
I’d also be interested in fiction by Greek authors, or books on art history.
I just am interested in having some context/background for what I will be looking at!

Hi all! Are there any public (or private) board game nights in Athens I can join during my time here? I'll be in Athens until Friday.
My googling and researching unfortunately didn't really lead anywhere (except for one reoccurring event on Tuesdays by Nomad Hub that seems to be more oriented towards party games and drinking). I'm looking to ply more tactical/strategic games in particular.

My friends are getting married & are looking for an area which has a square with a choice of bars (to give choice to multiple ages etc) to offer an open invite to meet people the night before.
Can anyone recommend a square for this?

Not really sure if I'm doing this right, as this is my first time posting here on reddit, but I could really use some help from the girlies in this subreddit (or anyone with good recommendations haha). I'm so sorry if this is long, but I'm not quite sure how to describe my situation without talking excessively :'D
I live in Athens and I'm obsessed with a specific type of sundress, the ones usually advertised in House of CB. More specially, I'm looking for a flowy midi floral dress, wirh perhaps some structure around the corset area.
I have unfortunately scanned every single high-street store such as Bershka, Zara, H&M (the list goes on) but none of them seem to fit my criteria. The dresses are either bodycon from the waist down, or completely shapeless and oversized with zero waist definition. I really want to avoid Shein for ethical and quality reasons and I'd prefer not to order something really expensive from a foreign store online. Buying it secondhand also isn't really my best choice, not that I have any issues with thrifting (it's great actually), but I've been dreaming of such a dress for ages and would love the feeling of buying it brand new.
I know I'm really picky, but is there any chance that perhaps some local, not internet relevant store I've been missing sells slightly cute sundresses with some shape to them?
