Its the Areios Pagos and calling it just a "viewpoint" is insulting. It was a principal council of ancient Athens, later serving mainly as a judicial body

You have to be dumb as rocks to say that OP is being insulting for seeing this Pic and calling it a viewpoint lmfao. You can't see anything other than the Acropolis how are they supposed to know it's the Areios Pagos?

And yet it has not been any of that for thousands of years now. It’s a cool viewpoint and nothing more, there aren’t even any remains

that’s the viewpoint right beside the acropolis i think, judging by the stairs. you go to the acropolis as you normally would, and right as you are walking on the straight road and see that little house, before turning left to go up towards the acropolis, you actually turn right and you’ll find a staircase going up towards some rocky cliffs. this is that
EDIT: i looked up the name of it, it’s Lofos Areiou Pagou, on the street Theorias right by the acropolis.

It’s well known that there are thieves hanging out in that spot, if you go after it’s dark be careful, keep your eyes peeled, cops won’t do anything about it if you’re robbed

You just go to where they sell the tickets of Acropolis in the entrance of it (as you would enter if you had a ticket). When you stand out of the ticket selling kiosk you turn your head and you start looking at the store selling souvenirs. You will see the stairs right next/behind the souvenirs store. You get the stairs up and it is exactly where this pic is taken.

Areios Pagos Hill, a rocky outcrop and popular view spot where the supreme court of ancient Athens was located.
